- Tiffany is one of my subscribers that just so happens to live very close to me. She came by to share her story about how her teeth decayed rapidly during pregnancy. She has been using fake teeth she purchases on Amazon just to have the confidence to go to work and to the grocery store. Like many of us are or were, she is nervous about having to get dentures but has decided that her health is more important than any fear she might have. You are beautiful 😍 I have medicaid and they started paying for dentures back in July. I'm in Virginia but I believe it's nationwide for this and they pay for all dental care now instead of just having teeth pulled. I am waiting on my 3rd appointment which is the bite register and color selection appointment and then I think I will have the 4th appointment and I'm not sure if that is when they do the pulling and same day dentures and after that is a 5th appointment which could be the reline or adjustment. So I'm going the our local community health clinic and the price I saw for whatever they are charging medicaid is $666.00 SMH I asked if they could change the number and the lady laughed at me but I really don't like that number!
I use Arnica gel and Arnica tablets for toothpain and after having teeth pulled. I also use frankincense and aspracream for instant relief.
My teeth went bad from pregnancy (5) and severe GERD and acid damage from vomiting. I have started lacking on my dental hygiene because several times while flossing my teeth have broke.
I honestly think I am allergic to the fluoride too and instead of helping it did more damage. Back in 2008 I had all my teeth fixed , every month I went to this awful dentist but (I didn't know he was awful back then) for about 2 years and had deep cavities filled and he put fluoride inside the hole while filling it I'm not sure what they call it but that's what he told me. Anyway every 6 months I would go in for my cleaning and x-rays and my mother was paying thousands of dollars for all this work! Well after about a year the x-rays was showing cavities behind all the fillings so he told me he had to refill them. I don't know if you have ever experienced a silver filling being drilled out but to me it feels like you are veins electrocuted into your brain and it's God awful 😖 😱 and the numbing doesn't help that pain whatsoever so I now have PTSD and just walking into a dentist office and smelling that drilling smell can cause a horrible panic attack. Or if I'm sitting in the chair after getting the shots of numbing for when I have teeth pulled I will start uncontrollable crying, it's embarrassing and ridiculous. Thankfully my new dentist team understands and knows how to treat me and I love them so much!
Let me know if you have had that feeling of being electrocuted before while having dental work done. I also felt it when I had my canine teeth pulled.
I only have 14 teeth left to have pulled on my big day but I am still nervous about it.

You are so right I kept telling my husband I would do something “when I have the money”. Seriously that day never comes because that money always goes to something else. He finally took the lead on finding the money.

It’s so so hard! I totally feel for her ❤️ I wish we could have go fund me’s or something for all the people who really cannot find a way to pay for tooth replacement. It sickens me that it’s not included in basic medical care because all of the infections and subsequent antibiotics are so bad for our health. I just wish I could find a way to help people actually get their smiles restored without being independently wealthy!!

I used to make my fronts out of thermoplastic, I'd color them myself, it was better than nothing, used them for years, made a new set every month, but a persistent infection forced my hand, and so i took out credit to get the extraction, and then i had recently gotten a settlement, so i decided to go all the way, get the implants, and man im better for it. Im on my healing set, Zircons coming soon. Thanks to Greeley Dental Care for working with me, and HaShem fo giving the the blessing, the opportunity to fix em.

Just an FYI, it takes an average 7 years for a woman’s body to normalize after pregnancy! I recently had 14 teeth removed and have a full upper and partial lower. I have Lupus and mitosis and another thing I learned is autoimmune diseases can cause your teeth to fail. Kalin you’re a Gem, you have a heart of gold! Thank you for your experience, and encouraging others to heal and love themselves despite their flaws we’ve all got flaws!
You are (even with bad teeth) beautiful!! The biggest problem is lack of good insurance coverage in USA. I had nearly perfect teeth until after the birth of my son at 36. Had 3 root canals in less than 5 years... and countless fillings luckily mu insurance covers 750€ of dental costs per year. I sometimes went above, but worked out a split payments plan with the dentist. Wishing you two all the best.

People with nice teeth don’t realize how much teeth affect our self esteem in our day to day lives, especially when you have bad teeth. I myself have been through a journey with my teeth and I know exactly how you feel! I hated myself for YEARS. In my opinion there is NO REASON that dentists are able to charge what they charge. I can guarantee this lovely young lady has helped so many❤️ I was in a very similar position and my teeth looked a _lot_ like hers, like rotting tombstones! 😭 and I was positively suicidal with the pain, I have never known pain like it. having all of my teeth removed was the best thing I’ve ever done!

Wow this video made me cry. It was all so me. My son even told me at a wedding once that people were looking at my teeth and shocked and he was ashamed. Even family that love you sometimes do not understand. They say pregnancies don’t mess with teeth but that is so untrue, it does. I had all my teeth out except my 3 top teeth in the front and my bottom gum line receded from having my teeth pulled because I couldn’t afford other options. Even with insurance it is expensive. For me I am still going through the process. My temp dentures could not be put on because my mouth was still coagulating from bleeding and the dentist (I had to go see her to get my upper partial denture and my bottom denture after the removal of teeth) she messed up and had the tops made wrong. Then blamed my oral surgeon and she said I would have to pay for new ones. I was so medicated up still (I was asleep for the removal)-I hugged her. But when the medicines wore off (also Ibuprofen 800 mg worked great for me and had swelling and was black and blue but nothing major) I realized I did not have to pay for her mistake so contacted them the next day and pointed that out. They did new molds for me but ironically did not tell me she basically had the oral surgeon paying for my top denture partial. He did nothing wrong and pulled correctly and was paying for it to keep the peace. That oral surgeon is so kind and he had my partial denture custom made and it is a higher grade of quality gum and teeth I am so happy with my tops. He gave me back my smile. But my bottom dentures have to be aligned and the dentist again said I would have to pay. So long story short I filed a grievance with my dental insurance - the same one Tiffany has and they told me no, I won’t have to pay. They are investigating her now and will bill her back for my dentures. Also they said the oral surgeon after the investigation can put in a claim to possibly be paid but no promises. I cannot believe he did that for me. I thank God for him because that dentist I have is really shady. My oral surgeon told me if I need to have new bottoms made he has friends that will take my insurance and help me. I am writing all this because you always say each experience is different and that is the truth. Mine has been up and down with my dentures but at the end of the day I am thanking God to have all those teeth that were rotting out of my mouth. The infections and antibiotics really reek havoc with your health. So the saga continues and I will see what this dentist will do, but I have a feeling because she had them made so cheaply that new ones will have to be made as they will never align with the teeth I have now. Thank God Liberty is willing to help me. I cannot imagine anyone having teeth out and then due to a dentists screw up they leave them with no temp dentures or permanent dentures. I thank God everyday for my oral surgeon and that the surgery went without complications and so did post surgery. I think often nutritional deficiencies can be worsened during pregnancies which can speed the breakdown of enamel. And I really feel that the standard western diet has a lot to do with our dental issues. There are so many processed / packaged things we eat now a days and it’s just seen as completely normal cos of all the marketing and our busy lifestyles. I think often times we aren’t even aware of how our modern day diet can negatively impact our health. 💕
Thank you so much! It was definitely a very hard thing for me to do but I had to. I agree with ya. I was so sick with the pregnancies I couldn’t hardly eat anything. And then when I got to feeling better at month 8 & 9 I ate so bad.
My appointment for full extractions and the temporary dentures is coming up next week on April 11th. You have walked me thru the process and encouraged me to go thru with this. I'm nervous, but not as much as I was before watching you're videos. I just want to thank you for your videos and encourage anyone out there who is in pain or just embarrassed, go ahead and go to the consultation appointment. There are options for payments. ❤

I was class clown when I graduated high school, so laughing and smiling are my favorite things….or they were anyways. This channel, and your story are helping me to overcome my fear of the dentist and just do it already.
It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but SO WORTH IT! I went from partials to full implants about 3 years ago. I’ve always been a happy person on the inside, now I can smile confidently. Thanks for your videos! It’s helped me along every step of the way.

I hope you are able to get some relief soon. I have never shown anyone. As I have commented on some previous videos I am in Jax and in the same boat. Those plastic teeth are a life saver. I have been using them since August of 2019. Sadly I have been really thankful for being able to wear a mask to hide things as well.

Another great video! When you find a good dentist that you really trust you will be surprised how your sad, scared and vulnerable feelings will change! Find a dental practice that makes you feel welcome and that you are important. I was so afraid but when I found the best choice for me they walked me thru the entire process start to finish. I have had some complications along the way but it is ok because I know in the end I am going to be healthier and happier. I paid one price no matter how extensive the process so that also helps to ease my mind. Tomorrow is 15 weeks for me from the day I had surgery where I had 24 extractions and a ton of bone grafting done with 10 implants placed. If I can do this so can you ❤️❤️

The exact same thing happened to me! I had a dentist tell me "it's not because of deficiencies or anything it's probably only because you ate more sweets or something" but I actually ate really healthy during my pregnancy bc I only ever craved sub sandwiches and fruit smoothies?! I can't think of any other change in my life other than pregnancy. I had always had incredibly strong healthy teeth, always took good care of them and went 23 years without having a single cavity until I got pregnant then afterwards one of my upper teeth beside my canine just broke right off in my mouth while eating and since then I've had all kinds of problems, inflammation and pain with my gums and teeth but I can't afford to get anything fixed in this country because the cost is just outrageous especially for a single mother.. Thanks for your video! Like I’ve always mentioned on your comments! People are judged all the time. Especially those who never had bad teeth problems and can’t comprehend the issue. But life happens, pregnancy, diet, etc. and no! Because if you have bad teeth or they are falling apart DOESNT mean you do drugs! I hate that interpretation because it’s not true. And it’s why people avoid dentists, because we are ashamed and afraid of being judged. And some dentist are guilty of that. And it makes us hard to get treatment or whatever done because our dentist don’t understand that. You hit the nail on the spot, if dentist would take you aside and tell you one on one (not on dentist chair) in their office, what they can do and treat you like a person and help guide you and not a transaction expecting you to pay for something because it needs to get done. It would give you time to absorb the process and give you time to decide your outcome and your finances. Make a plan that will help you. Work out a plan. You know! Which we need to bring awareness. And so many people are coming out which is helping many overcome fears etc, because it can give you hope. Just want to say thank you! Tifanny! MANY can relate! 🙏🏻

What a very sweet lady, I can say I am in a very similar situation but, I have had a lot of medical issues and my teeth have gone downhill quickly.
I just don't understand why dental has to be Soo expensive but, I can get the best of care for medical through the state. I would love to have my teeth fixed, it hard when the Dentist office request over 5, 000- 30,000 or more it is insane.

Need to have more awareness for women who are planning to have kids to get their dental work done prior to being pregnant so underlying problems aren’t exacerbated due to hormone changes! You want to be healthy as you can be to grow another life, oral health is important! You can’t say they were good teeth when you haven’t been going to the dentist to determine that for sure!

Hi Tiffany! You are not alone. You have a lot of people that can relate to you. I know how you feel. My teeth were so bad. Chipped and discolored. It does affect our lives. The constant pain and being depressed and sad. But there is a solution and hope. Don't put it off. You will not regret it. The only regret I had was not doing it sooner. Dentures have a bad rap. Why? Who knows? Society can do that. But it's the best decision I made. I can talk freely, laugh at silly jokes, smile, eat anything and most of all not have any teeth pain. No regrets here. @J Trujillo You are so right judgements should never be made. We need to remove the stigma associated with dentures. My story is to long to tell here but I like Kristie have the unique experience of having had both dentures and implants. I was absolutely horrified of thought of having dentures but you know what while my time with the denture was short it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be and it looked beautiful in my mouth. I have been documenting my story on my channel as well. I am so excited for the future!

I recently had my lower teeth pulled and its already a big relief! I was having pain in my back molars every 2 months because of infections from the cavities being along the gumline and one had broken 2 years prior from a filling that had fallen off and hardened on the wrong tooth 10 years ago. The only reason I was able to get that taken care of recently is that I currently have no job and Medicaid was able to get approved. You'll feel better once they're out.

I have had bad teeth all my life but it was exacerbated by having 2 children. I went to the dentist yesterday and was told I have to have a route canal or lose the tooth. I already have 5 fillings and had 3 extractions in 6 years. My front teeth up to the fangs are ok for now luckily. I am thinking of just having all of my big teeth out and getting implants? I’m just sick of the pain and them crumbling away and also where I have no teeth the ones on either side seem to be falling into that gap now anyway. Is this a good idea do you think Kristi? I’m only 36 so *fingers crossed* still have a number of years to go.
Pregnancy hurt my teeth bad. Now I have to get immediate dentures I'm scared and alone need friends to talk to about this or thru this process. I love your videos

Tiffany you were so brave and I appreciate it. I'm at the same point as you. I've got my consult on 14th Feb and although it's to sort 2 teeth I've decided to ask about removing the final 7 top teeth and have a denture as I too can't cope with the constant abcesses and pain. The fear is huge but to be honest like yourself the look of leaving it is just as bad. I callmine my hippo teeth as I've had a front one removed recently leaving a peg like look. I'm so tired of soft food and I've gained 7st whilst I can't eat solid food and crew. I have an upper partial denture but with so much pain I still need soft food. Here's hoping 2022 is the year we get fixed up. I'm in the uk, so the systems different, I'm having to go private due to our nhs having such long waits.

OH I feel your pain and mouth pain. I had the same fears you have. I live in California and the cost to get all my teeth fixed here came out to be a total of 51K..I was like no way I do not have that kind of money, I am going to die because of all this hurt and pain. Well I ended up going to Mexico and getting it all done for a total price of $8854.00. I love love my smile! And most of all I love myself again. Best wishes to you!

I as well would love to share my story to help bring dental disease etc / awareness to this very serious health condition that plagues men/women of all ages and embarrassment/shame/astronomically high costs of replacement etc. I feel that the more of us that complain and ask for help where needed may help the dental/health community to wake up to the fact…. If you have your health you’re golden but if you don’t have decent dental health your entire world is off kilter because we use our mouth/teeth to talk, eat, and is literally the first impression we as humans give to the world…. Our speech is massively effected never mind having to pre plan every outing… what are we doing, eating, talking, drinking hot liquids etc is very hard to live a self assured life without overwhelmingly thinking ahead 24/7.

I just went through the pre qualifications for financing on a all on 4.
44,000!!!! The office said they do not offer basic or removable options for younger people. The office manager on the phone kept trying to push me to get one arch done at a time. She kept telling me how I should refinance my home and car and sell stuff to get money. Wow. I'm a stay at home mom and works part time for a school. My husband works his butt off to provide for our family. I didn't do anything wrong to loose my teeth. Poor dentistry and pregnancies have lead to my dental issues. I thought I would feel better about myself taking that step forward and asking prices, and etc and now I feel even worse. I don't deserve this, I have spent thousands on failed dental work, and they expect 44k. There is absolutely no way the materials used and time spent making the all on 4's do not equate the price at all.

Idk who keeps saying pregnancy does not affect your teeth, because it ABSOLUTELY DOES. three pregnancies destroyed my teeth, I used imako smile for years before I finally was able to get my teeth done. It was to the point that I couldn't even EAT. After my third baby, I very rapidly declined and went from big pregnant to size 00 in months.

I had lovely teeth then 3 years ago I had a very stressful few months. I didn’t eat, I smoked excessively and literally shut down. My teeth went from healthy white strong to where the enamel disappeared and several fell out . My dentist told me it was due to brushing them too hard but my hygiene had not changed. I do blame that stressful time.

I won the implants in a contest and the current hybrids I have were gifted to me by Ivoclar Vivadent. I think the approximate cost for a set like this is around $14k, minus the implants, which is the bulk of the cost.

OmG my POOR MOTHER!!💔😖🥺I take after my mother more than any of her kids as far as hormones and physique is concerned. By the time she got pregnant w me( n I was her 4th kid! She started gettn pregnant @16y.o. and didn't stop until after I was born when she was 25y.o. ) at 25y.o., she already had a full set of dentures ups n downs(I remember her telling us that she would lose a tooth for each kid she had- she probably meant 2 teeth per kid cuz she didn't have any teeth the entire time i knew her)
I'm 51 n in the height of menopause ...I also am a pain management pt (for 15yrs mind u) n I have 0 (ZERO) teeth in my head that dont hurt or arent broken! They've all just disintegrated over the last 5-7yrs. My mouth is an absolute painful mess.
My insurance does not cover anything dental so this upcoming experience is gonna be 100% out of pocket for me n it scares me half to death! I need to listen to u girls. I appreciate ur bravery for coming to talk to us. I really want to hear every word u have to say.

I had pretty good teeth until I hit my 20s. I was living and working in Hollywood, where your appearance is EVERYTHING. I was living the "dream life", but I also became a cocaine addict. You make alot of money in Hollywood because you work so much. Actually it comes in waves. You might be the hottest thing in town this month, and next month you cant book a reality show. Its rough and drugs are everywhere. So you start doing drugs, so you can work longer, so you can buy more drugs. Rinse and repeat. Ironically the drugs jack up your teeth (and mentallity) and now your doing stuff that will wreck your good looks. 25 years later, now I need dentures on top. My bottom teeth are fine. Its crazy the things we do to ourselves for: money, fame, love, wealth. And dont give a second thought about the teeth until its too late. Thankfully I found a dental care team that are super nice people and arent just in it for the cash. They genuinely care about you. If we only had friends who care as much as the dentist does.

My teeth problem started happening after my body being septic, I started loosing teeth then I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. So, I lost my beautiful smile. My insurance won't help😢
I'm so sorry! Can you call and really fight with the insurance company? Can you get your doctor involved? I've heard many times that people were able to get coverage from their medical insurance when the doctor deems it medically necessary. I hope you find some relief soon, Tina!

What sucks bad is that your teeth even though you brush and floss after every meal...then all of sudden they can fall apart and in a matter of a couple years your dental insurance can not keep up with the repairs needed. This is what happened to me. I got two lower I teeth left...and will be getting full implant on the top and partials on the bottom. The pain of the teeth is unbearable when they go bad it is torture. With people wearing masks everywhere while I wait for my gums to heal up...it is easy to hide a wierd looking face.

There are many dental offices that have in-house financing but if you're anything like me when I started out, I didn't have good enough credit for financing. The interest rates can be very high with this type of financing since the risk is higher.
my doctor said I didn't take enough vitamins so my daughter sucked what she needed from me and it came from my teeth.
