ONE HOUR of Plane Spotting at Vancouver International Airport!

- In July, I flew over to Vancouver for a couple days with a good friend of mine, and spent a few days spotting and filming the regular summertime action at Canada's second busiest airport. YVR has some incredible traffic, including being the only Canadian destination for British Airways' A380, and some great spots as well.

Best aviation channel out there BY FAR. You do nice long planespotting videos, aviation history, wierd routes/planes that still fly, AND tripreports!

Thanks for highlighting this anomaly Alex. I had the pleasure of spending the last four years of high school in the Yukon as well as a few years working up there in the late 90’s, and some of the wilderness tour operators in the territory were quite enthusiastic about the direct flights to Frankfurt.
Interesting fact you may not have heard is that when Condor approached the Whitehorse airport authority (aka, the Yukon territorial government), they found out that a bunch of equipment would be needed to support the flights, like containerized baggage handling equipment...yes, the airport until that time had never needed anything more than a tug and a bunch of carts because all the luggage was loaded by hand into the bellies of 737’s, DC-3’s and other assorted small aircraft. The 767’s that Condor flew didn’t have loose luggage holds, nor do I suspect Frankfurt was liking the idea either, so the YTG bought the equipment...a good investment I would suspect.

its nice to see all these A350s now in YVR
TheLOLpl0x CX doesn’t fly the A350 into YVR anymore since later October. HX will stop flying into YVR as well next February so CI and LH will be the only two carriers flying into YVR with the A350. If Turkish Airlines gets the green light they’ll either fly the B787 or A350 to YVR next summer.

Is WestJet a full service or budget airline? Is there an American airline you could compare it to?

I looked up to see if British Airways still flew the 380 into Vancouver. I couldn't find it. All I saw was 747's. I badly want to go and see it. Also can you tell me where the best spot is to see them land

These shots appear to have been taken from somewhere on or around the dirt hill on Ferguson Road, parallel to R 08L/26R and also from the viewing platform at the south terminal, with limited views of R 08R/26L.
