Well, the reality of Performax ads is different. They are just burning money in my case. Responsive search ads are still king.
Googles MO is to burn your money. Running ads is basically an exercise in trying to limit them doing that while dialing into the most relevant clicks.

Wes, another great video. I went one round with performance max when it was first available. I wasn’t successful, which isn’t a big deal in the process of ads…I have several clients that FB no longer really works. Remind me if you said we can set a daily budget? As these are local businesses with a smaller spend. Thanks 😊
Hey Jef, yes, just like with any Google ads you set an average daily budget (which CAN over or underspend on certain days....) the key word being AVERAGE :)

It seems a lot of friends do not even see everday postings yet alone ads on Facebook.

Used Performance Max several times for Lead Gen… I got 80% fake leads… stopped using it since, especially since Google can’t do anything about it.
This is very common with Performance Max, it is terrible for Lead Gen and B2B. Sometimes it works for ecommerce - not sure why this wasn't mentioned in the video here...
@@falcondigitalmarketing I don't trust Performance Max nor even recommend using it for Lead Gen. I don't know why it is not mentioned in the video, but, if you are going to mention it, you have to let people know that there is a risk of getting a bunch of fake leads.
@@gonzalofossatori300 Definitely. Wes is more of a website builder guy, I don't know why he decided to make a video on Google Ads, especially Performance Max. There are significantly better videos out there that mention the pros and cons and traps, not just high level praise that sounds like it came directly from Google

I think its only been around for a few months, but the point is its still pretty under the radar for most small businesses. It definitely hasn't been available to the masses for long.
I’ve been using it for clients since spring 2022. If you have much PPC under management at all, it’s the first thing their reps push on you on every consultation call. Results for me haven’t been great, but these clients don’t have great creative assets and haven’t been willing to pay to have them built, so the performance definitely isn’t “max” because of subpar assets.

Store visits makes the most sense. Remember you don't have to do the heavily automated Google campaign options. You can still run Search or Display campaign types and target a radius of your store location. This way you show up on Google to someone searching "Stores near me" (use specific keywords for what your store actually is, or restaurant or boutique or shoe store or women's shoes, or shopping etc.)
I like google ads but the leads we get are complete garage! How can we fix this?

Exactly? nope, nobody can do that, sorry!
I am sure it works great, but also will spend your budget faster and sometimes the conversions/clicks are not as qualified IMO.

The reason it can end up being cheaper is bc Google uses its AI to put your ad in front of the right people at the right time in the right place for conversions. It opens up all that extra ad inventory which can help drive down those ad costs.

That's pretty subjective Meg... If a lead's worth $1000, it's not a lot. That's why you need to know your numbers, and how much you can afford to spend per lead, rather than chasing the absolute cheapest ones you can find. Cheers!
