    I’ve noticed that the more power that a vehicle is making the faster it runs through the dyno pull. You could definitely tell how much faster it went through the pull after you bolted on the bigger supercharger. Congrats Eric! I watch a good bit of dyno stuff on CZcams and this is one of the most impressive sessions I’ve come across.

    Nice to see 32 years later after I built supercharged Trucks for Accell, Vortech, Paxton, and Chevrolet for SEMA that the HP dyno #s have not changed. The only thing that improved is the Data collected. Your running just about the same HP we made in 1995 with Vortech and a Lingenfelter tuneport for Mr Gasket Booth at SEMA in 1995. Great Channel

      @cedricwilson2055 when I was building the engine GM racing gave me a ZZ4 to be introduced in 1996. Vortech, Mr Gasket, Accell, Lingenfelter and GM racing supplied all the parts for me to build a stdcab Chevrolet pickup that would handle a performance that matched the NASTRUCKs. I pulled the heads for gm racing heads that we cleaned up, port match to tuneport and we pushed about 22lbs but belt slip I made a cog belt system and it made 26 with a Vortech Mondo supercharger, also need stronger valve springs. That 30 years ago we also o-ringed the heads and the block. There was no data at the time to fall back on. We actually broke a few pistons during setups. Oh and we were getting different cams from CC/GM racing. And I remember we also changed pistons to a 7.5-1. Compression

    Can you jack your fuel pressure up to compensate? If no, you'll need bigger injectors/throttle body assembly if you can't change the injectors, or you can do a blow-thru carb. I wouldn't be afraid at your HP level.
    Excellent results. Should be all you need for a while to go fast as you care to go. Very nice.

      Even the 3,55 gear and 28" tires at 7300rpm means 8s. Its not geared to trap at 130, more like 155-160.

      @@timothybayliss6680 Yep, I've brought the gearing up a few times.
      Back in the day, my mid 10@130 SBC had 28.5 slicks with 5.43 gears. Ran around 8000 RPM through the lights.
      I feel Eric's truck is just going for a cruise down the strip to run the times it's currently running, and capable of much, much more.
      If a stock bottom end, cast piston, junkyard 5.3 LS can temporarily make 1000hp on boost/methanol with a good tune, seems this should be capable of easily attaining 1500HP and still be reliable with the bullet proof bottom end it has in comparison.
      I'd think 1500HP should put this truck solidly in the 8s.

    The voltage drop is very important running the injectors at full duty cycle. It affects the pump output and the injector response rate. That setup is trying for a massive lean out. Also 66psi?
    You would be better off plumbing an extra injector into the boost pipe.
    Very lucky the dyno ramp rate was so quick. As a tuning tool it would have been nice to have the sweep longer to better simulate a drag run.

    Looks like it needs some power enrichment (accelerator pump) to get the lean spike out when you first go to wide open throttle. The CL correction will never be fast enough to take that out, and its over reacting to the lean condition causing it to go rich.

    I had a customer with a 385 Ford drag car. Hew destroyed a motor due to dropping oil pressure at the big end. Turned out to be the adapter plate for running a remote filter. Changed to a shorty filter directly on the block to solve the problem. I would be scared of running the S10 on the track until you resolve the problem. A 3 second dyno pull doesn’t stress the oiling like a 9 second 1/4 mile pass.

    Great work. Love the channel in general. Please just take the next statement as a generalized statement not a negative.
    If that’s a dynocom dyno I’m not a huge fan of that type of dyno due to the way it loads. If it doesn’t create enough load they read high. It’s all up to the user to properly load the car. A dynojet is a very heavy load due to the roller being thousands of pounds. This way the roller being a single weight the control is more accurate when it comes to numbers. However if it’s overloaded it reads lower. Im just not a fan of the way it loads the car.

    AFR 11.5:1 on the petrol scale is Lambda 0. 78 that gives us correct AFR for E85 at 7.66 pounds of air for 1 pund of E85, right?
    926 lb/hr E85 times 7.66:1 in AFR => 118 lb/min. airflow. That seems like a lot for this hp level.
    B.S.F.C also seems very high.
    Do you know if these injectors open 4 or more times pr. engine cycle or something?

      Like Eric mentioned, BSFC is higher on boosted engines. Plus E85 has a higher BSFC than gasoline. So yes, his BSFC is going to be very high compared to a naturally aspirated petrol engine.

      I was thinking turbo which is lower but with a supercharger you have to account for paracitic loses. Also the heat from that header could be offsetting some of the cooling benefits of the e85, and those collectors mentioned could play a role.

      @timothybayliss6680 Před měsícem

      @@stevenbelue5496turbo engines have a lower bsfc than a supercharged engine but its still worse than NA. High compression NA is the best, you get the most energy out of the fuel without spark retard or excessive enrichment.

    As you've said, you should DEFINITELY go with a Dominator, you've pressed your luck FAR enough with the sniper. There's SOOO much more info, I/Os, options, traction control, injector choices, etc... Plus, You're already familiar with Holley efi software.
    Don't bother with multiple sets of injectors unless you insist on running 2 separarate fuels at the same time.
    , which is unnecessary with e85 being as cheap as it is. ALSO, you can run a flex fuel sensor to run gasoline as well.
    Also, it's common for the brushes in the alternator to bounce at high rpm and cause a voltage drop. Stiffer springs will solve that.

    • @MuscleCarGarage2022
      @MuscleCarGarage2022 Před měsícem

      If he goes dominator he'll want to run with more than the port injectors or he will need an intercooler. The sniper blow through is cooling his charge air.
