Do you live in Tulsa?
In broken arrow a suburb
How do all these big brands inflate their numbers to what the really are ?
Wonder why the flow numbers are lower than what Promaxx advertises on their website. I'd love to see how the new LMR SVE CNC 185s stack up against these guys. Thanks for making this video!
Eric, I have a 4bolt main 350 block that I will machine for you and send you in trade for some porting work if interested. It would be a 4.060 bore on this one but it sonic checks really thick and why it was set aside for a special project for another guy but he passed away. I don’t mind finishing the machine work and sending it out there through Fastenal Blue lane freight. If that’s an option for you, then I would just need some specs to finish it up or can even assemble the short block if we can make a deal. Just let me know and maybe we can just trade some labor from shop to shop to help each other out.
Thanks for the offer but I have been using a 400 block. If I do it again I will do that or bigger
So don't expect to hot rod a racing engine more than 300 times? Something was wrong with the built short block as it should have lasted over 10,000 dyno runs. I just unsubscribed !
Dude are you really going to unsubscribe to a guy who has given you Dyno results and no that he can't your just gonna unsubscribe to him really grow up. Also that block he just said it last longer than he thought because that block was in a blown up engine had to put a sleeve in it and after a while it has a crack for a while then the crack finally spread so don't blame Eric. He doesn't have money to buy new stuff just for video for us to know some information about what makes more power like come on man. Or least say your kidding when you comment unsubscribe because probably people won't tell if your serious or not
If your serious? You really just did Eric a favor.
Hope he can find another candidate, but heck can only do one thing at a time, by time he dose all the " LS" testing something might turn up, all the best to you all
Well bye. Don’t worry I will block you before the engine is back up so you can’t see any further progress. I can tell you didn’t watch the full video or you would have known the block had been blown up. If I had never changed heads so often it would probably be making pulls into the 500s before I freshened it. It would be dumb not to freshen it at that time.
People that don't run a small business have no idea how much of a commitment R&D is when there is no guarantee of ROI. As a small business owner myself, I'm surprised at the commitment you've made for the viewers. Yeah... time to pull the plug because you'll have to make a lot of aluminum fly to pay for the dyno time alone! Mind you, I spent 10 years developing a product that in the end, no one wanted to pay for. They wanted the performance, but they wanted it for less than it's true value. It was a costly lesson, but at the time it seemed like the upside was enormous. The marketplace tells you if you guessed wrong or right. I think you are making the right decision.
Oh wow what product did you make I am always curious on new stuff
😂😂. this is i like your videos you dont azz kiss and your extremly open about the products you touch where most will hide or downplay info about products.your not advertising the parts.
Johnson worked on DRCE stuff when Vizard was working on Austin Mini stuff !
Was in search of these for awhile with no luck , but out of the blue me and my grandpa decided to pull the engine out of an old C60 Chevy he had and low and behold , there sat atop the sbc cylinders , a magical set of double hump heads.
This video is how I found your channel a few years ago, still great to go back and reference when I need to. Haven't missed a video since then, awesome content.
Don't look at it as thousands of lost dollars, think of it as you've learned thousands of dollars in lessons. You learned a ton of things to recommend and products you can sell with more confidence grown a ton of followers that will buy stuff from you. Also now it is gone it will free up some more time to play with gen III hemis finally.
I just bought the summit racing block it was 2k an can take a maximum bore of 4.185
You need to get your own dyno!
It’s not getting the dyno it’s where to put it.
Might been better off with a good stock block with set of good Caps on it.ran one for nine seasons bracket racing back in the day 😊
Stock 400 blocks are hard to find
My sb2.2 heads out flow those by a mile
After porting heads for well over 30yrs, I've learned that it takes 2 valve jobs minimum on any performance work & especially after removing material in the bowl, things move around a hell of a lot.
Could you just pick up a basic stock sbc engine, either swap everything over or tun it stock so you can keep testing
Can make pretty good engine with the stock 400 block but they're hard to come by these days
How many dyno pulls did you put on the mule? Just curious it was definitely a good endurance tester for the components. As much as you dyno test maybe its time to purchase a dyno!!
About 300
We just call you mr cash..spending it
Oh man that really sucks! Well I guess I’m tapping out. I’m really bummed about this. Hopefully you get another going
How much do you want for the block?
Quick!! Someone needs to donate a Ford, Chrysler, or BOP to Eric for a new dyno mule! 😉 Thank you for sharing so much info with us Eric!!
What I believe happened with the oil pump bolt, and I've seen it before, they used a short outer 4 bolt main bolt and not an oil pump bolt. They're not long enough. Only catch 1/4" of threads or less and once pump vibrates it breaks those protruding threads. When laying out your bolts for mains make sure there isn't one longer one! That's the oil pump bolt! It'll fit the main because those bolt holes are open and that bolt won't bottom out. Oil pump bolt is about 1/4" longer. I'm retired machinist. Seen this at least 6 times.
Nothing happened to it. This is a two bolt main block with arp bolts. Oil pump is a stud.
We as members and viewers (consumers of Eric's information) need to pony up and get this going again!!!
I just saw this recently, and the only reason the black pushed water was because the sleeve dropped ever so slightly. The service of the block after sleeve was settled and never had another problem.

I don't think you're whining or complaining. Thank you for telling it like it is. I understand you need to test to learn to produce a better product. However, I am a bean counter and it doesn't add up. Motorsports rarely adds up but it is fun and I enjoyed the tech. It helps me make better decisions as I can't afford to just pay whoever your favorite builder is to build my toys. Further I do as much as I can myself.
I think you will geat a steady stream of business because of all the testing and more!
??? Fix it ! .... Lock and stitch part of the crack add a keensert into the threaded hole then use moroso ceramic seal to seal the block ....
Can you tell me or anyone else tell me how quick the S10 went
Right now 10.29@131.
@@WeingartnerRacing very nice thanks for the quick response one more question if you would what rear end gear is in that ?
Dino the motor as it pushes the car down the track .
sorry bud....stuff happens....there must be a good block in your future ! ......OnWard......
HEY MISTER HOW MUCH ARE THE STICKERS IF YOU'RE OVER 89 . Just asking
Stickers $6, $150 for membership
Keep your head up somethong will come around people buy a shodrt they are very comfortable!!!
I’d buy a summit deal they look really nice
I’m interested in the block I’m looking for a fixer upper
Thanks!
Not $4k loss! An investment in education and your website.
Eric, surely someone will donate you another block?
I’m sorry your block gave up the ghost, hopefully some aftermarket supplier will be able to help you out with a block
Lately.i have seen people using the new Summit block, I am not suggesting that you go spend 2k on a summit block. I was just wondering if someone could buy that block and the your rotating assembly and build a low buck 406. If you were interested in selling it as is short block
Springs from how many years ago? Yeah when quality, USA made parts were actually quality parts.
I saw the video where you tested spring pressure.
Sorry to hear about the Dyno Mule Engine Eric. The experience gained from testing will prove a valuable asset over time. Certainly good Technology. 👍
A moment of silence for the small block dyno mule. 😢
Seen a Edelbrock dual-plane manifold that was notched out about 3/4 deep x 2 in length along the divider " at this racers shop " ? Always wondered if you'd get the vest of both worlds low end and some on the top"
If you can not make some $ or at least break even, there is no point other than learning & that's expensive schooling. I wish you were closer as I am just getting my SuperFlow dyno business running & we could sure work together, but TN is quite a haul from OK. Good luck with the LS & BBC.
Crap!
Eric I sent you the sbc Victor Jr, do with as you please or give to someone needy, Thanks for all the info.
Super cool, brother. Heck, I might even be the guy for that piece. Doing a 385 for a friend right now.
I really think it would help to reach out to commercial companies to sponsor your videos like athletic greens does for Cletus and a few other CZcamsrs. I don’t like doing videos but hey it could help. I personally think you have enough followers.
