I like how not only you mentioned each paint, but you also told us how to highlight and shade them! Quality painting stuff!

Everyone's on the paint train this week - I agree about Rhinox hide, brilliant paint! Big fan of Vallejo's charred brown as well.

I'll check that out, Rhinox Hide is hard to beat, such a quality colour! 😊

IMHO black and white list would be great. They are surprisingly hard to get right

I've been meaning to make a video on different black techniques for the longest time, I *really* need to get on to that! 😅

@@TheHobbyGrotto Did you tyry Molotov black? Marko Frisoni uses it a lot, great cover, easy to airbrush, dries a little fast for brush but it's not that bad. IIt's oficially graffiti marker refill, so to buy it you need to go to art or graffiti store. I really like it's matt finish, great covering power too.

I've never heard of it, looking it up now it looks interesting! I was like "why are these pens showing up I'm looking for paint!" 🤣🤣 but I do also like to experiment with stuff like this!

I do have some Rhinox Hide, but I would like to give some of those other paints a try sometime

Was an interesting watch! Makes me curious about my own painting habits. Thinking about it, I imagine we all fall into a certain pattern across our painting - certain colours/etc. we always come back to for one reason or another.
Out of your list, yellow definitely surprised me. It's typically considered "THE hard colour to paint," so seeing it in the list should reassure people that it can, in fact, be done. Ushabti? Less of a surprise. Definitely has a lot of utility. Also, credit to Ironbreaker - the workhorse of metallics lol.

Thanks for watching, and lots of great points there, we definitely fall into patterns with painting and it's an interesting thing to take stock of. Yellow was my main surprise of the video honestly, I was actually surprised that it beat things like Khorne Red which I also use a lot of! 😁

After disqualifying obvious anwsers like citadel retributor gold, the vallejo metal color series as a whole or vallejo mc black, it is easily the trio of vallejo mc burnt red, Pro Acryl bold pyrrole red and citadel Khorne red. Burnt red dries deceptively brighter than it first seems out of bottle, BP red is just a good workhorse bright red paint and khorne red has a great blue-ish hue to compliment it.
Honorable mention to Vallejo flat brown, a great starting point for leather, wood and brown fur/feather if you want something brighter than rhinox hide.

Some great paints there, Khorne Red actually just missed out on the top 5, I use that one a lot! Your post reminds though, I need to try some Pro Acryl, I've never used it before! 😀
