Pervitin - WW2 Short Film (2024) 4K

- A Luftwaffe Field Division Gruppe is cut off from the rest of their division on the Eastern Front in 1943. After sustaining heavy casualties from artillery bombardments by the Red Army for numerous weeks, the men hope to survive in a hastily dug trench system. The under strength Gruppe is left with rations, ammunition and morale running at an all time low. Julian, the youngest in the Gruppe, in an attempt to cope with the atrocities of war, has been abusing his stash of Pervitin. Pervitin was a stimulant given to soldiers in the German Military during World War 2.
The pill increased focus, energy and morale, while lowering fear and inhibitions. It also had severe side effects that included exhaustion, heart pain, vomiting, delirium, depression, hallucinations,
suicidal thoughts, stroke and death.
Julian and the other remaining members of the Gruppe must deal with not only the horrors of war, but manage the paranoia and infighting. - Krátké a kreslené filmy

Worked in Germany as a you man in the 70’s with several WWII veterans. None would speak much about the war. One was Sargent in the SS and still had his blood tattoo on his arm. Another was taken POW in Stalingrad while in the Air Force, like the guys in this vid. Apparently Luftwaffe troops were used as infantry, too. This guy wasn’t an aircrew, but ground support and wasn’t able to get on the last flights out. He was a prisoner from 1942 to 1951, rebuilding the same city as forced labor. All of these men were hard working laborers at barely minimum wage at an American air base. They all loved America, especially cowboy movies, still hated the Russians and just seemed genuinely happy with the simplest necessities.

I lived with WW II Nazi for almost three years in the Fulda Gap area in the '70's as a USAREUR NATO Tank Commander. East Front Nazi veterans would meet at the shooting club of Bad Orb. They were keenly interested in US morale. Curious as to whether the US ARMY would fight the Warsaw Pact after the debacle of Vietnam.
90% of the captured German soldiers from Stalingrad never made it home. The man you spoke with was very lucky indeed.
Karl may was a German and wrote books about Winnetou and old shatterhand
An interesting perspective. And quite ambitious for a low budget short film. On a side note, the lead actor and whoever plays Heinrich are fantastic actors!

This was definitely worth the wait! I really enjoyed the trailer, but too be honest this was a lot better than the trailer made it. The tension, the characters, and that ending…loved it. I am impressed. In most short films the characters are either Army or Waffen SS. Made a change to see the Luftwaffe ground troops. Great horror element. Love the swerve ending. Can't wait to see what you do next👍👍👍👍

A true subject I've never seen in any film. Most WWII films concentrate on the big picture but these micro moments, like some guy taking Pervitin, is not something you see. Great job and crew.

Sooooo worth the wait. You guys did really well. The costumes, the make up the story, it was also good. Heinrich was very scary and I felt sorry for a lot of the characters in the film. Looks like it was a lot of fun to make looking forward to the next one.

Yes, very accurate, but uniforms were too clean. Living in the woods and trenches make for some dirty clothing!
@@Badvirtueproductions Excellent job guys! However I have my doubts about the scene where Julian's sidearm is taken away at 11:35 . How is it possible for a Luftwaffe private to have an Officer's Parabellum or P38? With holster? It never happened in German Army. But again - awesome work!
Allmost all Görings insanaty , Luftwaffe ground troops, were killed or ....surendered.
@@wszechstronnydyletant7593 Pistols were issued by role not rank. It was standard issue for a machine gunner to have a pistol in the heer, luftwaffe and ss.
The actors were awesome the bad guy Heinrich was the best!! Good stuff!

I have already subscribed to your channel. I repeat once again, i have seen many films about the war - you made them at the highest level, this also applies to the acting, the atmosphere in the trenches between men,etc. l am from Ukraine and this film approaches the realities of the war in Ukraine.

You know there are so little war movies out there not the old but new done by other country's, not American or British but Russians or other. I don't watch other movies but war movies, because I relate to that time although I was not there but I understand the history.

The one thing that I never understood about the German Army during WWII was that the German Air Force trained its troops to be ground troops. Why not just send them to regular army training centers.

Amazing. I wonder how many times something like this played out during the war.
It’s even said our pilots and soldiers had the edge on theirs because we used amphetamine powder instead of methylated amphetamines. Our guys could get some sleep after a day or two
Definitely worth pondering over. And you have to think a lot of the men who were affected by Pervitin died before they were ever allowed to tell the tale. Thanks for watching, we appreciate the support

Pervitin was a real thing (methamphetamine, I think) and you didn't need a prescription from you doctor in pre-WWII Germany or Britian. There was a US' PBS NOVA, I think, World War Speed, that talked about this. While taking Pharmacognosy, back in the day, our Prof noted that it was (at that time) a widely accepted opinion of many archeologists of the time that held that the Inca and others, because of their chewing of coca leaves had the alertness to build those wonderful stone buildings. By modern lights such materials are often seen as dangerous, but given the coca leaf chewer's evidence, the movie and history make a certain sort of sense.

I would never have believed that hallucinations were even possible until one time a friend and I took a pile of ecstasy tabs and I was actually seeing things that did not exist, I was not scarred but rather amazed that the brain could do such a thing.

I laughed because i know of pervitin and i was thinking how scary it would be to be high paranoid at the same time, let alone you get shot or stabbed and your running around pumping mad adrenaline, thats a disaster for bleeding out, like a cartoon faucet.

Great work to put this movie together, and please reflect on the reality of some of those men on the front lines, it must have been absolute madness. You can judge as much as you want, but you weren’t there, people deal with stress in different ways, I don’t believe that makes them good or bad, it’s just a characteristic of how someone deals with specific forms of stress. I may be wrong, sincerely I would like to be corrected, but I believe, you are awarded honor, increasing down the list, if you enlist, you serve, you combat, you’re injured and re in list, you are prolific at killing or destroying the enemy, you survive. Am I correct ?
