@@JustinEmlaythese are for really heavy games that drains the battery really fast and make the phone hot easily and i can say by experience that it is worth it there where games that i couldn't really olay well because of thermal throttling but with the cooler no fps drops anymore you say 5 fps but from 60fps going down to 10 to 15 fps because of thermal throttling is insane dude 😂
@@bluelegacy2684 I can only go based on what is exactly in the video and that was 5fps. If your phone is dropping from 60 to 10 then maybe you need to buy a better phone as I doubt this would help much.

@@jeffsterc1657 As an iPhone15 Pro Max owner, I've never had my phone burn up or drop frames at an insane rate. The only time it's ever gotten hot was in direct sunlight.
Will you be doing an updated video on the MSI Claw? Since the new BIOS 106 and 109 have come out and significantly increases the iGPU performance.
This does raise the question of whether the phone manufactures are potentially building in short term obsolescence for these expensive flagships. It also makes these phones look less pocketable and fully useable without looking a little messy.
Yes but also they're luxury items. Most people buying them, don't really know or care much about the specs. And professional use is pretty limited, which is why you see most tech youtubers use iphones

Random suggestion: Half Life 2 would be a great way to test thermal performance of these coolers. Theres an android port and it REALLY heats up my S23 Ultra. Same deal with Pojavlauncher

i'm using a 15$ 1 for my chuwi hi10 go charging while using without problem, without it, the metal back is HOT like hell.
Have you tested any other coolers? Like the Xiaomi BS 3 / 3 pro? If so, how are they in comparison?

This is great! Would really help with cod warzone mobile, my only concern is, with such a consistently cold plate at the back of your phone, won’t that do any damage over time? I want to take care of my battery the best I can and I know that battery don’t really like “extreme” temps.

Great video! Question. I use a Mous Limitless case on my S24 Ultra and it has magsafe built in. Would this still work with the case, or does having the case defeat the whole purpose of the cooler?
No even with slim cases it doesn’t help cool the phone. I’d say the clip and no case is best
The problem with clips with pixel is they trigger volume buttons. Personally, I found these to cool the iPhone better than Samsung and Pixel when you're in a high ambient regions

The results are impressive but so are the results with any cooler on the market... I mean, you can improve the cooling technology, that would still apply on the chassis. You can't implement this on the SoC like we change the cooling system on a mid-tower (or bigger) PC.
the manufacturer have to compromise the IP ratings for that if they want to put it internally. They also have to add fan and propper airflow for that to work.

They can put VC on soc for better heat spreading but the TEC need lots of power which not good for phone
If you want to do testing with Genshin, do it at least in other regions other than starting region and the region next to it. It is not that time consuming since once you hit a certain level, you will unlock a teleport point from other regions despite not progressing the story or doing any quests. the starting region isn't that demanding

Less effective, handheld use active cooling unlike phone that using vapor Chamber inside to move heat from the chipset to the middle of the phone

My workplace gets so hot in the summer my phone would shut off. 60$ is a bit much for me considering I only need it a couple months of the year. I'll keep an eye on if it ever goes on sale.
You could buy previous versions of the cooler that also works well flydigi b6x, redmagic cooler 4 pro or rdmagic cooler 4 would be good options i actually have redmagic 4 pro and it works perfectly well

I have redmagic cooler 4 pro and it does have it it kept the temperature constantly at 33,9° C when i turned it off after 5 hours playing nonstop it was normal
No condensation, i use this kind of cooler about one year in same phone and the phone still good

I have this but i think it's way too expensive for what it does, the other black shark mag 5 pro ( I'm not sure i got the name correctly) is about the same or even cools better despite been rated for 20w. And the black shark is also way way cheaper and feels more premium or should I call it more quality, this one is feels more plastiky

If you want use with cooler try Gamesir X3 with built-in cooler, or X4 with separate joycon style so you can put the cooler in the middle of your phone.

Heck just photo editing in Lightroom makes my iPhone 15 run hot as hell! Granted I’m editing 100MP images from a GFX 100 but yeah I might get this just to keep the phone from burning up in my hands. Plus the display gets darker as it heats up. Another reason to keep it cooler

IIRC, Peltier cooling method was being made by Cooler Master in collaboration with intel for the use of 360mm AIO on the 9900KS and up to 11900K cpus. Unfortunately the project was scrapped because it gobbled too much power to achieve subzero cooling. Curious to see how the Redmagic doing with power bank plugged in
yeah it also creates more heat you have to dissipate. more energy, more heat, not a great solutions for most systems (but it can get very cold! lol)

Hi, I got the jsaux backplate and happen to have a similar thermoelectric cooler (which is not quite enough powerful to completely cool the wattage of the deck full send like this one could at 23W, but still).
But, PSA : you can get lower temps on the deck but it won't improve performance.
The Steam Deck is well engineered, it performs at low wattage and has a more than adequate cooling system. It doesn't thermal throttle.
This is definitely what the newest GoPro needs because they overheat too much lmao.
The SOC is near the camera instead of being in the middle of the phone so this is really inefficient cooling.
A really important question y stick it to magsafe magnets and y not stick it above where the processor is ?

There's a magnet sticker available online that reaches up to the part where the processor is. If you pair that with a TEC cooler then the processor can be cooled as well
Because it's not going to make a difference.
It is already preventing thermo throttling and you will just unbalance the phone and make it hard to hold if you try and put it over the CPU.
Plus the internal cooling goes throughout the phone so that's why it is able to dissipate heat in the middle.

@@melxbyou can use it with the gamesir x4 and red magic dual shadow, those are bluetooth controller that attach to the sides of the phone without the middle parte like other controller, but the con is that you won't be able to plug your phone
The problem I see with this for gaming is that it's not attached to a controller.
Imagine if redmagic adds a small thermoelectric cooler directly to the cpu 😳

You should try that cooler with a magsafe case for the s ultra and see how it does. I have a slim case for my s23 ultra that is magsafe compatible. Wonder how it well it will cool
I am tempted to buy one of these and pair it with a thin copper sheet cut out in the dimensions of the device with just a cut for the cameras and sandwich it between the cooler & the device. I am pretty sure the temps will go down even more but i don't know if the cooler will still be able to get attached, i believe so since every device has different thickness, maybe ETA can help with this
On the market there is a heatsink that extends to the CPU area, you can use it with these types of cold fans.
This works well with sheet aluminium
thanks for the video, the result suprised me, to be honest. One little note, just to honour the science and to add something (not important in this context, but why not xD ), what transfers is not the "coolness" but the heat. Cool does not exist "per se", it is just lack of temperature (temperature can be seen as the energy of the atoms or molecules you are measuring, their internal movement), so what happens is that this absorbs that energy from the device, so the soc temp goes down as this get the heat.

Seeing a lot of people ask in the comments if it could be attached to this or that pc handheld, or even a laptop. In short, it won't help.
On modern phones the body is part of the heatsink design. The back panel being metal or glass, the front glass: these siphon heat away from the internal heatpipes/vapor chamber.
On a handheld pc or laptop, the plastic chassis is NOT part of the heatsink. It is designed to guide airflow through the internal heatsinks, and isolate/insulate the hot spots inside from burning you or otherwise damaging external surfaces. Plastic chassis on those sorts of devices will not transfer thermal energy in any significant way away from the heat generating components.
Edge cases where this isn't true would be things like fanless tablets, Macbooks, and Surface devices. They use the metal chassis to dissipate heat, which is why they have such poor performance relative to their actively cooled competitors with the same chips. They sense that they are reaching temperature limits that could burn human skin, then they downclock.

Probably not, the CPU is covered with a heatsink that isn't flush to the surface of the back. Putting this cooler on will not have any significant effect on temperatures but that is just my guess

Not really, I do have the metal backplate from Jsaux.
1: just getting that outta the way : the SD doesnt thermal throttle, so it won't improve perofrmance.
2: you make a good point about noise. But, a thermo electric cooler, overall, creates more heat. And that device has a fan.... So whatever few RPMs lower the SD fans might run at, ever so slightly-maybe lowering it's noise, will be more than overtaken by the noise of the TEC device.
In my experience it makes no discernable difference, or actually MORE noise. Because that little cooler is full send 100% all the time when you plug it in. Constant small fan at 100%.
7:12 GPU clock speed is not maximum, maximum is 770mhz
I can see from the curve that the phone throttling from 25fps 30 fps on the beginning to almost 12fps and this is the fast benchmark not the untimate so that video its just an advertisement and this fan can cool your fingers except phone

Yeah going sub-zero is a bit icky for me. I could see using this on other devices as well (that are less water resistant/watertight) but as soon as you stop using the device real hard... this device is still cooling 100%. Getting the device way too cold for nothing.
If it activated only when hot that would be a no brainer to use. But it's anyway still quite an inefficient cooling method.
@@trbdann2 If I recall, this cooler (and some others too) can be controlled by the phone via bluetooth, and have a mode where it detects the phone temperature and automatically controls the cooling intensity. So when the phone is not hot, the cooling is also less powerful.

I wish more phones dissipatedore heat through the rear vs the screens. A lot of high end phones run there cooling to underneath the screen. I learned that watching JerryRigEverything.

I Have Got Redmi k50i I beat your both Phones IPhones 15 pro Max and Samsung s24 ultra with Cooler (Mine score: 5796 and 34to 41fps in 40 degree celsius. And 1% battery drop yeah Whenever I'm Using my phone my Casullay touches 41to 45 degree. Or even it Off and keeping in Pocket still 40degree. And not to Mention at 40 degree overall temp.. Cpu temp is Way High maybe around 60degree..my phone for first time touched 54° i Got outside playing pubg if for a min i leave it for There it could touch 60° and yeah that time Cpu temp was 70°.and Also Giving atleast 30fps in default 90fps setting. So think I use cooler the Score will change.. I have 20w cooler which can get -1° temp and get ice on it Zorbes Memo. 🗿
