- This class was exclusively prepared for you to improve your Portuguese Listening and Comprehension Skills. As you listen to Brazilian Portuguese, you will have the opportunity to learn some geographical and cultural curiosities about my country, Brazil. If you are a beginner in Portuguese, I suggest that you first watch this lesson with subtitles in English to grasp the content, and then rewatch it as many times as needed, with the subtitles off, until you have a full understanding of it. At the end of the lesson, you can test how much you have learned by taking the QUIZ.

Eu assisti seu video muitas vezes porque precisava de ouvir esta história mais uma vez em português! Tô entendendo mais os vocabulários quando aprendo português no seu canal. Hi Victoria! Don't be sad! The purpose of this new playlist is that the lessons are only in Portuguese; however, all the other playlists have English as a support language. I suggest you listen to a lesson from another playlist while getting the chores done, then come back to this one to watch the new lesson while resting 😊

Learning Portuguese is anything but possible. How am I suppose to understand what any of these sentences, much less words, mean without having any point of reference? You make as about as much sense as a baby...

I suggest that beginners start their studies by watching the videos on this playlist - czcams.com/play/PLcyKtgNkt2lvT-Mmy6SCJ9OQ1Vkb8UryA.html and only then move on to the content on the next ones. As the videos progress, I use less and less English during the classes, but there are always subtitles in English available if needed.
@@PlainPortuguese I think you have to accept the fact that our brains are wired differently, and are not able to learn a second language.

Oi Nilo! It requires constant exposure to the language. Try to listen to some Portuguese at least 10 minutes a day (songs, podcasts, the news) while doing some other tasks. First, get accustomed to how Portuguese sounds. You might be able to pick a word here, another one there...it is a challenge. I will put together another video with what to do after this 10-minute a day exposure to Portuguese.

Oi Bea! Então, tenho outra pergunta: como se diz em português "to struggle to", no sentido de ter dificuldades quando se trata de fazer algo. Por esemplo, "I often struggle to express myself", "at first you'll struggle to understand the language, but it'll get better" etc. (Em francês "avoir du mal à faire quelque chose).
E, assim disso, como se diz "to get by/do well/better", como em francês "se débrouiller", tipo "Ben maintenant je me débrouille pas mal en français mais ce n'était pas le cas au début". ?

Bom dia Toby! A melhor opção para 'struggle' é 'ter dificuldades'. Por exemplo, 'Eu geralmente tenho dificuldades para me expressar'.
Quanto à 'get by', pode ser 'virar-se'. Por exempo, 'Estou estudando português há pouco tempo mas consigo me virar bem.'

Depois, ter dificuldades eu vi, mas achava que talvez tenha um outro. Mi disseram "lutar para/por". Mas... Sei lá, em francês "luter" quer dizer "to struggle" mas não no mesmo sentido, então não sei como é em português.

O verbo 'lidar' seria equivalente a 'deal with / work with', por exemplo, 'Eu lido com problemas todos os dias', 'Ela não sabe como lidar com conflitos.'
O verbo 'lutar' pode ser uma opção equivalente a 'struggle', por exemplo, 'Ele luta para sobreviver' (lutar para). Mas também pode ser usado com um sentido mais positivo, parecido com 'fight for', por exemplo, 'Eu luto por meus sonhos' (lutar por). 😊
