Dang my guy. Hopefully you can get the car running good one day. I always hated this part of the process when rebuilding motors. But I know for sure one day you’ll get it running better
😂 yeah if I ever see one I’ll get it changed. I have a bunch of stuff I need to get swapped out but I just don’t see the strap on guy that often anymore.
Hey man, love your videos. My dads had his 91 Z300 in the barn since it blew up on him 20 years ago. My dream is to restore it for him, problem is I don't know if I should just swap the whole engine or replace what I can. 20 plus years of sitting has most likely ruined a lot more than just the engine. With all other replacements in mind I'm not sure if "saving money" on replacement parts for the engine is worth it, or if I should just swap with a used one. Wondering if you might help my decision!
My car was sitting for about 10yrs and needed a lot of parts replaced including the engine. Depending on if it’s NA or twin turbo will have determine how much you will end up spending. If the engine blew I would just replace the engine and see what else you’ll need once you need once you get there unless you plan on just replacing everything in the engine bay.
I did 3 pulls in a row, my best guess is that the cylinder got too hot at the piston rings butted up again each other and that’s what took out that piston. The fuel pump was bad as well so going lean contributed in the cylinder getting hot. I’ll probably try and make a video on common 300zx problem someday but that might be about the whole car lol 😆

What was the reason it blew? Just got my first 300zx and trying to learn what i need to watch out for.
