    I was of the mindset that he should have been getting 10-15 minutes a night. But still, it doesn’t excuse any of this

      Interesting Tim, whose minutes would you have him taking?

    In agreement with you again, Sunny. I did see his message cutting on Brad Underwood and the Illini. I responded by simply saying it shows immaturity. I work in the profession whereby I teach this to my clients all the time and THEY LEARN/GROW. The Illini experience and Brad Underwood gave him nothing but opportunity and he prospered. I feel actually bad for him. He makes a lot of money, but his heart is filled with angst and anger. Tough way to live, Pod. Hope you mature from this, and learn how to be a “man”. Hopefully someday you retract that statement/attitude. It would do you good. 👍

      He may just be the type of guy who uses these sort of slights for fuel to get better, kind of like MJ did back in the day. Which if it's the case, it's obviously working for him. But yeah, as an Illini fan I never have held any ill will for him but this happening over and over again is getting kind of annoying.

      Many poor character individuals react immaturely, which is why they were a poor match for this team. Good riddens. He won't contaminate the team. 8:22

      It happens though right? I don’t know of a single coach out there who has never missed on a guy. It’s the nature of the sport. It’s rough profession.

    Last comment on Pod: I agree if he used to fuel his energy to a positive end; just keep that to yourself and look at the positives that grew from a negative situation. In life it’s always about the recovery, and less about what happens to you. Maybe he’ll grow, still. He’s young. Great people understand this. I can tell that you do, too. 👍😎

      He's 21 years old, sometimes we have to keep reminding ourselves of that. Although he reminds us himself with some of his actions, hah.

    In the current landscape of college basketball where transfers new relationships are happening left and right, there’s no place for this kind of malice. It didn’t work out for you at Illinois, sure. Dude… you play for the freaking golden state warriors now. This should not be on your mind in the least bit

    • @LockedOnIllini
      @LockedOnIllini  Před 19 dny +1

      Yeah I'm dumbfounded. For the most part Illini nation has been pretty supportive of him and of course we all wish it had worked out in Champaign. But these constant little shots are getting old.

  • @jayboek2854
    @jayboek2854 Před 18 dny +1

    He was never going to start. Probably shouldve got around 7 to 8 minutes a game instead of 4. He would've gotten way more time the next season.

    This is hilarious. As a Ws fan, I didn’t even know he has a beef with Illinois except that he didn’t get playing time and transferred.
    I guarantee Pod isn’t sweating his time at Illinois now. Bigger fish to fry.

    I wish Podz didn't do this. He was well liked and may have exploded in his next year at Illinois, who knows. He clearly ended up in an awesome spot and has slayed the NBA. He did good. I just don't know why he feels the need to be a dick now. Pros are supposed to act humble and thankful rather than looking like assholes.

  • @doobeedoo2

    Well, Brad Underwood can be excused because college basketball is a "win-now" game, unfortunately. Development doesn't matter because players aren't committed for 3 - 4 yrs

    Clearly his bad attitude was why he didn't play. Then again, he looked like crap on the floor most of the time he was on. I suspect he wasn't bright enough to play in this system.

      @antoniogreen9176 Před 17 dny

    Brad screwed up. Brad’s judgment was off all the dudes he chose over Podz was hot trash Curbelo hot trash Trent was a good college player but nothing special. Trent hot trash after Illinois Plumber and Granderson all garbage. Brandin in the NBA. Stop trying to justify Brad’s screw up it’s up to the head coach to recognize talent

      @@LockedOnIllini He barely f'n played lol. 69 mop up minutes in Illinois vs 1152 at Santa Clara before the Warriors made him a 1st round pick. Underwood fucked up. Clearly.

    • @LockedOnIllini
      @LockedOnIllini  Před 18 dny +1

      Yes but he’s practicing every day and as I said in the video I don’t know who a freshman Pods should’ve played over on that team. Obviously Podz wasn’t running circles around everyone in practice otherwise we would’ve heard about it. Underwood probably would like to re-do things but folks are acting like this was a colossal mistake and imo I think that’s a little revisionist history.

    • @SaholG
      @SaholG Před 18 dny

      @@LockedOnIllini Underwood finally got the team deep in the tournament before the utter embarrassment vs UConn. That said, he clearly misread the talent of Podz and trusted a bum like Carbelo too much. Podz always kept his head up, worked hard in the gym despite being disrespected by Underwood. I'm super happy that he redeemed himself in short order and made The Association sharpish. He's living his best life in Oakland.

    • @LockedOnIllini
      @LockedOnIllini  Před 18 dny +1

      Curbelo is such an enigma. Hope he figures it out, even if it’s not necessarily in basketball.
      And yeah good for Podz. Should be set up for success playing next to Curry now.
