Fun fact: The Director and other cast members were surprised when Cage went on stage without first getting on the mocap suit and make-up, and instead spontaneously erupted in flames, doing the entire film without CGI effects.

you gotta admit... the ride to San Verganza with both Riders through the desert - despite useless for plot - is one of the most badass moments in comic book movie adaptations
I never figured out why someone would possibly name a town "Holy Vengeance"
And please show me a swamp in the middle of a desert. If there was water there would be people and at least a town of some sort.

You know, it's easy to talk about some of the bad acting in the first Ghost Rider movie. However, no one ever talks about the absolute powerhouse performance of that waiter who had to look Eva Mendes in the face and pretend to shrug like she was just "okay" in the looks department. Get that man an Oscar.

Spirit of Vengeance was a mess but let's be honest: the charred look of the Ghost Rider is awesome.
It also had Ghost Rider commanding a giant, flaming wheel excavator. So, yknow, it was already more interesting and fun than most of the MCU and DCEU.
The flaming cane was really cool though

There definitely wasn't enough promotion for it. It had a totally different style, a new motorcycle and none of the old cast except Mr. Cage himself.
It's *really* not worth watching unless a) you can turn off your mind and/or b) really really like Nicholas Cage and/or Idris Elba. Even then, Nick Cage has managed to be in far better bad movies; only worse movie that Idris Elba might have been is _28 Weeks Later_ off the top of my head--gods that movie was so fucking dumb.
@Damien Momed Geez. Anthony Head was in that mess of movie too? I know I only half-watched it when it came on TV randomly, but I honestly don't remember at him at all just like I don't remember Sam Elliot of all people being in the first one.
But, yeah, none of the actually good actors in the movie could do anything to save that second movie, including Ciarán Hinds and, to a degree, Nicholas Cage himself. It would hardly be the first movie to have suffered such a fate, though few have such an anticlimactic final boss.
Let's be honest, if they were to eventually put Ghost Rider in the MCU, Cage would feel almost PERFECT in the role again.
He certainly feels like perfect casting, even today.
I have a hunch that he'll show up in the Moon Knight finale in a post credits scene, where he can help Steven Grant/Marc Spector control his inner chaos. Cuz let's be honest, we all want for them to be insane in the same time.
I would hope they bring Gabriel Luna back for the role.

I love Nichola Cage. No matter what movie he's in, he's always fun to watch.
The first Ghost Rider movie is still my favorite Marvel movie, even more than any MCU films, it's what get me into Marvel comics in the first place.

I LOVED the first movie. Definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. The 2nd one sucked though. Plus rebooting it while keeping the same actor was kinda weird. Gotta love Nick Cage though haha

It's going to be a while, but I would love to see an MCU Ghost Rider movie. Give it a Western theme, get the right people involved, and this way they can finally shut people up by introducing Mephisto. It can be done.

Rebel Wilson was in it because the first film was made in Australia. The scenes where trains can be seen were shot in the historic Newport Workshops.
So, after the video ended, the YT ad started to play and it was HT guy doing a voiceover for Nick Cage's new movie, and I was like, "Wait, did the promotion for Massive Talent go so meta that the actually had HT guy do an ad for them? That's the most Nick Cage thing I can think of. Brilliant!!"

nice tribute to Nick Cage. still the most memorable moment of his for me is the Sankyo ad where he was making an epic pose and screaming "FEVER!"
Ghost rider 2 has some amazing stuntwork that went under the radar, and some pretty original and unique ideas for scenes (those trippy Blackout scenes) and of course nic cage doing the mocap, its a fun movie that is way overhated

...Wow. I really don't remember Sam Elliot being in the first one, which is hilarious since I vaguely remembered Wes Bentley of all people being in it since he's "Legion" or Blackheart or whatever. At least with Rebel Wilson and Donal Logue I didn't know who they were at time, but Mr. Moustache is so distinctive sounding and looking that it feels weird to forget. I am ashamed...beyond having seen most of both _Ghost Rider_ movies in the first place.
