    would love to see a video on how you know what to dose, are you doing tests to know which one you need to dose more or less of or watching the plants and know what to look for to cut back or increase on e or another. seems like someone like me might as well mix them up and dose it as an all in one.

    • @jjaquariums
      @jjaquariums  Před 3 lety +1

      You can get individual test kits but I've done it long enough, I can just look at the plants and know what I need more or less of but that would still make a good video thanks

    Thanks for the helpful video! I need your help, I set up a new 20L planted tank where I use sand as a subtrastrate and no CO2. Plants include java ferns, anubias, bacopa, cryptocoryne, and DHG. Do you think I should dose iron + nitrogen once the tank have finished cycling? Right now I’m dosing brighty neutral K + brighty mineral.Thanks!!!

    • @jjaquariums
      @jjaquariums  Před 2 lety +1

      You could and that's what ada kinda says to do but everyone just doses all from the beginning the only reason ada says not to is even your using new amazionia which has a lot of iron and nitrogen so just prevents you from having a big algae outbreak at first

    Hey JJ, how strong is the buffering effect of the green brighty K? I am wondering if you would use that or the neutral K for RO water in a scape with rocks that affect water chemistry like seiryu. Thanks! I purchased the buffering kind then realized maybe I should have got the neutral because of the rocks I used.

    Hi Johnny, I have been using the ADA fertilizers for my bucephalandra tank. It's only a two foot/60L tank with Contro Soil substrate, CO2 and a Chihiros Vivid ii light running at 40% power. Everything started off well with nice steady growth until recently when the plant leaves started to grow smaller with curled edges. They look like they haven't opened fully. I've noticed a general drop in color also. I've increased GH using Seachem's Equilibrium as I read the problem could be caused by a calcium deficiency, however no noticeable improvement on new growth after 3 weeks. All ferts are dosed according to the recommended amount on the bottle (1ml/20L per day). The tank has 40L of water (the remaining volume is taken up by hardscape), so two pumps each of N, P, K, iron and minerals are dosed daily. The plants are obviously lacking something and I'm kind of leaning towards a lack of nitrogen now. 70% of the substrate is covered with plants. I'd be really interested to hear what you would do to combat this problem or any advice you have to rectify this. Thank you : )

    • @jjaquariums
      @jjaquariums  Před 2 lety

      Even if the hardscape takes up volume still dose to your tank size, ada is very lean so your more likely just not getting enough

    Hey JJ. In the manuals for each of these brighty series fertilizers, ADA mentions that its acceptable to double or triple the standard dose according to plant mass. Is that something you do or do you more or less stick to 1 pump per 20L throughout the tank's life cycle? Thanks.
