  • I admittedly have fallen out of love with a few of the common and classic houseplants, yes I caught the rare or collector type of houseplants this past year. But when I was souring out plants for the shop, I knew I wanted to have a wide range and variety of houseplants that will cater to many different people and all different levels of plant journey. Because of this I began to discover new common plants that I've never owned before that I'm really feeling like Aglaonemas, and interacting with customers who loves these types of plants or those who's just starting out their plant journey made me fall back in love with common houseplants that many of us in the plant community have forgotten.
I hope this video makes you fall back in love with them as well, or at the very least give these common, but classic houseplants a try.

I was just about to write about Pothos. Honestly, they’re the best: fast growing, lush and unpretentious. They freaky transform a space and clean the air. And even more so, the plain old Golden Pothos is just a trooper. Neon Pothos coming in close as well

Awww, how exciting! People purchasing their first houseplant 🥰, that gives me the warm fuzziest!
I have always wanted a ponytail palm! I have to admit that any plant with that look, long thin leaves, palms, spider plants make me walk away. When I was a child, young 6-7 years old, my Grandmother had a huge spider plant! It was hanging in an east facing window in her living room. Being an only child, it wasn't a blast going there, other than to see Koko her standard Poodle. 😔 Sigh. It somehow always became my job to cut the brown tips off of the Spider plant. It was fine, Koko would stay by my side. He didn't care about plants. It was all well and good until she would come in and tell me to cut off the crispy babies and cut brown tips on the babies. I ended up crying every time. I was able to hold it in until I got home, thankfully. I must have PTSD. I may just try a ponytail now, Thank you, Christian!!😁😘.

Hey Christian 🤗 I have a dieffenbachia Camille and a Tiki! The one you have is cool and a has some similarities to the Tiki. Mine are loving leca and send out crazy leca roots! I was literally just looking into aglaonemas, I'm trying to find the tricolor, looks like Camo! Love snake plants, I have the regular Zeylanica (I think?) It came from Walmart and was a tad greener than I think it's supposed to be. I also have a black coral, a Whitney, moonshine, and Futura Superba, and Laurentii (the green striped one with the yellow border). Just love the way they grow pups. I have ficus elastica tineke, but it put out one leaf since I've got it and has not done a single thing since ARGH! I think the only plant that I was into was the ponytail palm. Ps: I love your ta-das! And your hilarious intros! 🇨🇦😁🌿

    1. Agloenema
    2. Pothos
    3. Boston Fern
    4. Peace Lily
    5. Rubber Tree
My top favorite 'common' houseplant is definitely the aglaonema and I am shocked that you are just now discovering how truly beautiful they are : ) I have about 14 varieties but the silver bay remains my favorite. Next would be Pothos - any variety - find them anywhere but so easy, beautiful and fast growers. There's also something about a peace lily, though I don't have much luck keeping them happy in my home, the large leaf varieties are so lush and jungley. I only recently developed a love for rubber tree and I have the Sophia and Burgundy, but they make my list. My 5th and final would be the Boston Fern. Tough to keep happy indoors but such a lush and sexy tropical plant, I consider them my summer deck seasonal plants because they don't do well in my home over winter.

Parlor palm, spider plant, phaleanopsis orchid, thanksgiving cactus / crab cactus, dragon tree. These are all so easy to grow and have unique features that add so much interest to a plant collection.

The only one I don't have is the palm. The others I have different varieties, I have 10 Dracaena (Sanseveria) just one Ficus, a Tineke. She is my newest plant baby. I have a few Aglaonema as well. LOL I can't afford the fancy plants right now. I love Crotons as well, I find them to be very pretty with their varied colours on their leaves.

I recently got a ficus burgundy and a ficus tineke. I just love their leaves. I also got an agalonema silver bay. It is the only agalonema I’ve ever had. I want more kinds of them now. I have a very young dieffenbachia but it had no id with it so I don’t know which one it is. It is growing so,so fast. Love your videos and happy you have your shop now.
