  • Hobao use the Mach engines in lots of their models. They are one of my favourite engines, I personally find them very solid - easy to tune & easy to start! In this video I show you how to break in the engine using the manufacture recommended method, consisting of 3 tanks idle and then two tanks with varying amounts of acceleration and some slight tuning.

    Hey mate, very informative video you got here. I use to hate Hobao's engine in the past. I use to have a SS nitro buggy before andI have to admit it was a hell for me to properly tune the engine it came with. So I just decided to put a different engine on it which I am familiar with and sell off that .21 original engine and pipe. Happy days. That the same thing I did when I purchased the SS truggy. That same day I got it, I bought another engine and took off that .28 mack. On this video you simply enlightened me how to love this Hobao engine again...Thinking now if I'm to use it the engine on my other kit laying around the garage.

      @TheRCBiker  Před 4 lety

      Thanks, glad it helped :) They are good engines, not the easiest to tune though. The .21 Mach are supposed to be easier to tune apparently!

    Hi mate, absolutely love your videos, to the point you convinced me to buy the nitro hyper ss truggy, I am in the uk and as you know waiting for lockdown to end weather to improve before I break her in, but I have heard horror story’s of these going nuts when first started even though they were left on factory settings, and claim the hand sets are set correctly too..if this happens to me, what would you suggest I do first, also do you have any videos of hand set, settings for this model? Thanks in advance :)

    • @TheRCBiker
      @TheRCBiker  Před 4 lety

      The slipper clutch you mean? Your best bet is to look at an exploded parts diagram of the car, that will show you how it goes together. This will be in your user manual, if not, google always seems to have the manuals somewhere!

      @arjunsk1924 Před 4 lety

      TheRCBiker thanks for your support anyway. I’m not really understanding the final part of the diagram but I will carry on doing my research tomorrow. I figured the reason why the 4wd system was slipping was because the slipper shaft had actually worn down and the cup had to become to big for it.

    • @TheRCBiker
      @TheRCBiker  Před 4 lety

      No worries,

    Hi.
    How much bigger is the truggy compared to the Hyper 7. Also what sort of tyres do you generally prefer on your vehicles .And where is a good source etc. Like many folk I had a time with nitro but went back to 1/10 electric because it is more popular locally. But now you are re-lighting my interest maybe you could put up a vid of your equipment and recommendations etc. Thanks !

    • @LawrenceTimme
      @LawrenceTimme Před 4 lety

      I always get proline wheels and tyres. Everything else is either race tyres that wear out too fast or rubbish that break the rims or rips the tyres.

    • @TheRCBiker
      @TheRCBiker  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi there, the wheelbase is the same but the wheels are bigger and it has a higher ground clearance. I just run the stock tyres usually and replace with stock off road type :) I will be doing a workshop tour etc soon which will cover some equipment etc

    Hi dude, not related to this brand in the video but I could do with your knowledge and guidance. I’ve just bought a traxxas slash 3.3 and upon the break in procedure, the car will not idle and accelerates upon starting. I’ve adjusted the linkage, set the idle screw to 1mm gap, played with trim etc with no joy. As per the manual it states no to make any alterations to hsn/lsn until a 6 tank beak in procedure, do you have any recommendations? You’ve gotten yourself a new subby 🙂

    • @TheRCBiker
      @TheRCBiker  Před 4 lety +1

      If the idle gap is set to 1mm but it's still accelerating away this could be a lean LSN. Check that the LSN is set to the factory default setting as per the manual :)

    • @smiff198907
      @smiff198907 Před 4 lety

      TheRCBiker thanks so much for the speedy reply, as per the break in method advising not to make any alterations until completing the break in stage, would it cause further problems to adjust this do you think?
