    A great video to watch, im at that point that I'm not sure which to go to, an electric car which I understand how simple they are I have had a few tamiya cars in the past or do I go for a nitro car, im just not sure about the noise you get from a nitro car & the amount of fuel residue which does smell quite alot, or do I go down the electric route which these days would cost me more than the nitro cars but would be no noise & are alot cleaner, I shall have to go to my local track & see for myself which would work for me, I shall let you now

    Ive owned many electric cars over the years and i want more involvement so ive decided to buy my first nitro car, though im torn between the ftx torro and the ftx carnage nitro they both have the same running gear just one is longer and the other is wider bcuz of the wheels so on that basis i reckon the carnage nt is the better option despite its age as its likely to be more stable. I used to be a mechanic so im hoping it shud help with tuning the nitro car. I was wondering is there any upgrades specifically are there other engines available? Another point i think worth noting, nitro cars will give u a more hands on approach rather than electric which is just a switch. Besides any petrol head wud surely choose nitro lol

  • @andrewe7314
    @andrewe7314 Před 4 lety +1

    Perhaps my choice of cars has affected my feelings. I had a Tamiya Hornet back in the 80’s and just recently got back into RC with my young Son. A 1/16 HSP meteor nitro that has needed a lot of repairs. And an FTX Carnage brushless that has been better. Maybe if I had a better nitro car I would enjoy it more. I want to enjoy nitro more than electric because it has a real engine but my limited experience so far is pushing me toward electric.

      @TheRCBiker  Před 4 lety

      Hi Sam, is this your first nitro? All of those things sound normal for a nitro engine. They do smoke, the fuel tanks last about 8-10 minutes depending on tuning settings, and they also do run hot. If you're concerned about the temperature put a drop of water on top of the cylinder head. If it sizzles away instantly (like hot water to a frying pan) then it's too hot. If it takes a little while then it's fine
