Great on the steering clearance. On custom stuff how often does that happen. Nice idea to extend the cab back.

That was a lucky break on the grill mounts.:) Should look really nice with a 20" cab extension.:)

Why do Detroits have 2 valves when its soposto be a 2 stroke, is it how doas it work I was thinking the blower pushed the air into the ports in the cylinder and they are both exhaust valves, but that doesn't make sense, are thiar passages within the engine that the blower maintains positive pressure on and it's only is blasted into the cylinder when the intake valve opens can you explain this for me thankyou

The Detroit uses a blower to scavenge air through the liner ports. After the power stroke the exhaust valve open as the piston passes the liner ports. The blower air fills the cylinder with fresh air and as the piston reaches bottom the exhaust valve close as the piston rises back up again. Once the piston passes the liner port the exhaust valves are fully closed and the compression cycle starts. Piston reaches the top and combustion occurs, another power stroke.:) In the 60's Detroit switched from two valves to four. I hope that makes sense.:)
