- In this episode, we are blown away by this incredible free camping spot we found! This spot had it all... picnic tables, an outhouse, A RIVER, fire rings, massive trees. Does van life get any better than this...? (Hint: the answer is no)
FUN FACT: pulling off of highly trafficked roads & staying at free locations in your vehicle is called BOONDOCKING!
We spend a long day in the van traveling from New Hampshire to the Adirondacks in New York. Good thing we love to drive!!! We hope you enjoy this incredible van life episode; we sure had an amazing day.

This site looks amazing, I think I found it on a map using satellite images. You said near Wells NY, I don't want to give it away but River Rd is a good road to be on for camping I take it. Going to be heading there soon, can't wait.

I have explored the ADK for like 50 years. Have ridden on/off road motorcycles throughout, 4 Jeeps, been van camping for decades, own a cabin in a pine forest southern ADK. Been through Wells hundreds of times can’t believe I’ve missed this road. My experience is that many dirt roads in the ADK are private with gates, or State with no overnight camping. We stayed on the Sacandaga River at the state campgrounds near where you probably where…..real nice!
NY/ADK is not very nomadic adventure welcome, but we have found free spots and not been shot at….yet. Nothing like the BLM free stuff out west, NY can be tough. That’s why we bought our own 7 acre campsite!!!
You guys are livin!! Life is too short! Adirondacks are in my back yard. I love it up here!! NY prices and laws are tough but the ADK's make it all worth wild! I'm 40 years old and would love to do the van life thing before im too old to do it! Stay safe guys! Live on!!

Working For The Van I have one very similar to y’all’s , I won in a raffle at my dentists office . 🤣 I haven’t used it yet though but this fall my husband and I are taking a trip to through the blue ridge mountains so yeah it will get put to use then. 👍
Glad you loved my home area, we boondock regularly, there are many free sites, some on lovely ponds. Wife and I grew up a few miles from the Hillbilly golf...lol
You guys grew up near Hillbilly golf?? No way!! We LOVED this spot, it was our only night in the Adirondacks, and we just can't wait to get back there, hopefully this summer.

We love the St. Regis Cane area between Tupper Lake and Saranac lakes New York areas. Boondock sites get harder to find in that area, though...

Well hey, we can't tell you exactly where it is, that's half the fun with these free boondocking spots. I will give you a hint though, it was very close to Wells, NY.

Nope this spot is free, first come first serve basis! There were a few fire rings in this specific location, so room for a few campers. We had another couple camping 100 yard through the trees. A beautiful location, good luck finding it 🤘🏼 hint: near Wells, NY

@@nathancole119 No. It's been some time, but I think the spots I found near there on the map either weren't it or I wasn't sure or notes that there was washout. I can't remember.

I’ve been exploring the ADK for like 50 years. Ridden on/off road motorcycles everywhere possible. We have a camper van also, and a camp/cabin in the ADK. There are MANY posted dirt roads with many times gates prohibiting access. From my experiences the ADK is not an easy to find free camping park…but it can be done. Be prepared to be asked to leave but if you are ok with conflicts…..go for it. As a life long NY and ADKer my opinion is that NY is not very open to nomadic lifestyles, Nothing like BLM out west…..nothing like.
