  • So I came across this once in a lifetime find.. I love my GM trucks and I don't know what to do with this one.. let me know what you think.. the truck is located in Winnipeg Manitoba and I'm going to use this video to put it on Kijiji Winnipeg... I'm so tempted to keep this truck and I may yet.. my first truck was a 1977 GMC and I towed a 30 ft trailer across Canada and United States and it never failed me.. I'm tempted to put a 1996 Vortec 350 4 bolt main engine in it with a roller camshaft and lifters and an Edelbrock manifold and old school Quadrajet for that old school look but with a little higher performance

    grandfather in Chula Vista sold hid 70 Ford Camper special same story.
    Had a camper from day 1 was only driven to big bear lake and back. Sold mid 80s...it was picture perfect. That era of people really took care of thier stuff.

      Yeah they did.. they really knew the value of a dollar.. an amazing generation.. my dad was born in 1913 and my mom was born in 1927.. they saw it all

      @@calvinpochinko4277 The silent generation..best of them all. Agree, they saw everything from the first Model T, wars, development of this great nation...worked hard, rarely complained and lived by the golden rule. As a 70s kid I had a lot of respect for those people.
      Sickens me how the last 2 gens of people could care less and want to destroy everthing they created. Life wasnt easy in those days.

    this thing is freaking MINT!

    Preserve what's there! It's such a shame that got so rusted out by where the seat meets the floor. Surprising, considering how amazing the rest is. And a wooden bed floor to boot!

      @calvinpochinko4277  Před rokem

      Yeah it is too bad but it's apparently very common... I'm just lucky all the rest of the truck is so minty... back in the day you would leave the windows open a little bit to let out the hot air in the summer and from what I understand it sat that way for 30 years with the truck camper on it... that's what saved the wooden box floor... I was thinking of putting a l-31 roller camshaft roller lifter 350 motor in it with old school V belts but I also have an l-29 454 with roller camshaft roller lifters and I might old school that and put it in.. I'm still a little on the fence on that one ...

    With only 1466 miles, why was the engine swapped??

      The radiator hose blew off on the way back from the lake and they filled it up with water and forgot about it and it froze in the winter and cracked the block.. the guy I bought it from dropped another motor in but it wasn't any good so I'm putting and an L31/350 vortec that has roller cam and roller lifter from the factory and more horsepower so it will just be that much better all the way around

      Booooooooo!!! Vortec no! Old school mint trucks deserves old school tech!! lol I’m just bustin your balls, wow what a beauty I’m jealous I would love to get one that clean, I just picked up a late 1976 3+3 crew cab dually 4x4 GMC out of Idaho, yours is a bit cleaner but I’m super excited to start getting her nice again. I tell ya what I love the old 70s looks of white rims with hubcaps with tall/skinny tires, I can’t stand this weirdo new giant rim craze with rubber bands stretched around them on these old trucks.

      @@calvinpochinko4277oh ya one other thing my 76 also has the same A/C set up, I was super confused because I thought it was a homemade setup but yours looks exactly like mine, and the AC controls in the cab are like mine too

      Very little... I had a 1977 in 1983 and the whole right side rocker was rusted out.. so yes I'd say it very little considering it spent 49 years sitting outside.. luckily it wasn't driven in the winter here in Canada

      I just checked out your suburban.. it's looking pretty good... I think you are in a good spot considering how much it cost these days for restoration work and also the price of a new truck.. a lot of guys up here in Canada would probably spend 15,000 Canadian for it and that is about 11,000ish American... I've got a 1998 l31 350 roller camshaft roller lifter ready to put into the 75 GMC😃

      @@calvinpochinko4277 it is crazy how Suburbans have gone up in value. They used to be cheap. I wonder if it is because it's the only way a lot of us can get into a square body because the trucks and Blazers have gotten ridiculously expensive.
