      Wrongo BigG... the tie rod is tight but I was able to visually inspect the lower ball joint by sticking my head in there and it is the one that has the movement.. also it's not my first rodeo.. I'm over 60 and I changed my first tire when I was five in my dad's service station.. since that time I've worked on hundreds of cars including the 1960 Morris Minor that my dad gave me when I was nine that nobody could make run.. I asked him if I could have it and he said if you can make it run you can have it.. it took me about 2 weeks to figure it out after school .. then I took my dad's stock car lap belt and bolted it in and took the doors off and tried to roll it every day after school😂 my mom would have killed me if I got it to go over haha

    I created a separate power source for the lift pump with the relay and I am using the original line from the oil pressure switch or what you are saying is the rollover switch to trigger the relay.. it goes to the coil side of the relay and the other side of the coil goes to ground.. you can also take the trigger off near the pump and not have to get into the wiring harness.. but I figured that out later.. just cut the wire to the lift pump and run your new power source down to the pump

  • @SubjectivelyDan
    @SubjectivelyDan Před 4 měsíci

    Does this replace a rollover switch?

    • @calvinpochinko4277
      @calvinpochinko4277 Před 4 měsíci

      Sorry for the late reply.. no this doesn't replace the rollover switch as you call it.. the oil pressure switch is designed to stop the lift pump from operating should the engine stall in the event of an accident causing fuel to keep pumping the event of a fuel line fracture.. that system is still operational but what it does do is Supply an independent power supply to the pump through a secondary fused circuit reducing the amperage draw through the oil pressure switch causing it to fail prematurely.. after the modification the oil pressure switch only has to provide enough power to operate the extremely low amperage of the activating coil in the relay.. in the event of an engine stalling, power from the oil pressure switch would no longer activate the relay and disconnect the pump as designed... hopefully that is a satisfactory description!

    Actually that ARP 230-7001 is too short for this 96 to 2000 pump ... it's a high volume pump that I believe gives you 25% more pressure so I believe the correct ARP oil pump bolt is 230 - 7003.. and the instructions I have found to install this stud is to first of all check to see if your crankshaft main cap is threaded all the way to the bearing because you do not want to install it so deep that it applies pressure to the bearing and will take out your crankshaft.. so the procedure I have found is this thread stud into the main cap finger tight and then back it out one revolution and then put your pump on and start the nut and making sure the stud does not turn with an allen wrench in the end of the stud.. at that point I firmly tightened the nut and washer up to the pump with a wrench and then I gave it the final torque with a torque wrench and as a special note ARP specs for this bolt I believe are 70 lbs torque but a small block with cast main caps is about 55 pounds.. there have been reports of people snapping a chunk out of the main cap and the threads with it so be careful not to over torque it 😮.. meanwhile it's a long weekend and I don't have the longer stud ...damn!

      I just filmed this nice guy describing the swap to me and he never said anything about programming but I believe if you use the correct computer with the wiring harness on the motor and do the additional pin connections as he says.. It will run.. I believe you just have to hook up some powers and grounds for the harness and the computer... That's all I can tell you about it

    It's not my thing but a junkyard 5.3 or 6.0 is a lot cheaper than try to put a turbo on a 5.7... personally I like my 97 350 with spider injection that is strong and gets great fuel economy pulling my trailer... 340000 km and still ticking 😊... this is just a quick tutorial for those who want to do it

    Too much work, just slap a turbo and boost it 😂
