How long does it usually take to start on freezing cold mornings? Does it take longer when it hasn't been used for several days? Has it got a choke on it?
It's not often freezing in Texas and I've only had her for a year now so I don't have alot of experience warming her up in freezing temperatures. She starts right up no problem if it's only been a couple days but a week or so and it takes a few key turns. I've replaced the quadrajet with an edlebrock 1406 which - I hope - I have set the choke appropriately, but I'm no expert

Carburetor without a manual choke is very reluctant to start an engine.
It is nice to see a suburban with a 454. Too bad the right rear quarter panel is almost rusted out!
