    To me the car was destroyed beyond repair and should not have been repaired. I really respect the cratsmanship of the man doing the repair but throught the first 3 minutes (or so) of the video the construction element of the car was being fixed throught cutting/soldeiring/hammering. But it was not replaced (in the contrary to e.g. the element replaced around 4:10-4:50). During next collision this may cost poeple lifes as no-one can predict how this construction element will behave and to which level it will absorb the collision energy. As long as replacing various panels throuhg cutting them out and soldering their replacements back on is concerned - this all is being done to a very high quality and I have no reservation. But whenever a construction element is affected by the collision and it is not possible to replace it in a factory-like process, the car should not be reparied. But, honestly, if I were ever forced to drive a repaired car, then I would only do it if I were sure it was repaired as professionally as this one.

      @xinxianshi  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Your concern about the structural integrity of the car after a collision and repair is valid. Structural elements play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of a vehicle, especially during subsequent accidents. While the repair shown in the video involves meticulous work on various panels, welding, and painting, the impact on the original structural integrity of the vehicle may vary.
      In many regions, there are strict regulations and guidelines that govern the repair of structural components in cars. Repair professionals are typically required to follow specific procedures to ensure that the vehicle retains its original safety features. It's important for repair shops to adhere to these standards to guarantee the safety of the repaired vehicle.

      Anything made by human hands can be repaired... and as for your concern, welding additional reinforcement inside that rail is quite enough to fully restore the required strength!
      In addition, hundreds of thousands of vehicles are put back into use every year in this way... something I don't notice is that mass people die in these types of vehicles! In fact, do you know of at least one case where someone was killed because they were involved in a collision in a repaired car!?
      And don't give me bad car repair work as an argument, we all know that bad work is... BAD!

    We don’t call it varnish we call it clear coat

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Absolutely, you're correct. In the context of automotive finishes, the protective and glossy layer applied over the base coat of paint is commonly referred to as "clear coat" rather than "varnish." The clear coat serves to enhance the appearance of the paint, provide protection against UV rays, and contribute to the overall durability of the finish.
      The terminology can vary, and in the automotive industry, clear coat is the more accurate term. Thanks for pointing that out!

    I think they should have replaced that frame rail. The engineered crumple zones cannot be straightened out. This will work harden the metal and it may shatter if it’s ever hit again. They do great work, but they should follow factory repair procedures.

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  Před 5 měsíci

      It is true that the deformed guide rails will collapse and break after another impact. They did not replace them probably because of cost factors. If they were all replaced, it would also affect the structure of other parts.

    Well done, but the car is garbage after an accident and must be utilized instead of repair.

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Your perspective aligns with a common consideration in the automotive industry, especially after a significant accident. In some cases, the extent of the damage, safety concerns, and the cost of repairs may make it more practical to deem the vehicle a total loss and utilize it for salvage or recycling rather than investing in repairs.
      The decision to repair or salvage a vehicle often depends on factors like the severity of the damage, the age of the car, and the cost of repairs compared to the vehicle's value. It's a complex decision that involves both economic and safety considerations.
