Perfect video! I hope this reaches more people. I preorder the Pecron e3600 with 2 batteries to get 3600 solar input and 10Kwh. Going to run a mini split and occasionally other appliances as needed
Fixed or portable assets may also be determined if you want flexibility as a renter or need to move/bug-out.
I like the concept of being able to upgrade and repair with the traditional. The minute you buy a power station another one better replaces it.

Good analysis of both systems
You cannot expand modular as much as you want because many municipalities have restrictions on size of the system. The portable systems can be as large as you want regardless of city regulations. Also some insurance companies will not insure houses with solar panels on them or built in solar systems.
I need to keep my aquarium alive at night if the power goes out. I got a quote for $80K for a 28kW system + 2 tesla powerwalls, but I live on a hill in the PNW and I have some space on the north side of my house where I can put a wind generator for the 9 months it is cloudy and windy. Is it possible to use a Ecoflow DPU with a wind generator on one PV input and solar on the other?

Check kits out from ShopSolar.com or Signature Solar. You can give them a call and they'll be able to help you select one for your needs. Plus, they both provide solid support for installation & troubleshooting. If you're uncomfortable doing the install, you could also source an electrician or contractor!
You'd be stupid to use a portable system as a permanent system....unless of course that permanent system is very small and you aren't confident DIY......generally go permanent for permanent :)
There's so many you-tubers out there now that are using a portable power station for powering their home.......yeah, I get that....they get the power station for free so why wouldn't they say it's great!!!!!
The inverters in these portable power stations will fail quickly when used as a permanent power solution......build the correct system and save yourself some heartache!!!!!
Are you sure the inverters fail fast? And the new Pecron e3600 can handle a huge load. Also, it's portable for people who do events like myself, so easy ROI to hook it up to a mini split. But how fast will it fail?

It is NOT less expensive to build a traditional system. Not until you're looking at the huge "portable" systems. Just the price of a capable inverter and a battery is about the price of a 1 to 2kwh "portable" power station. Not that either are cheap, but pretending like it's so much cheaper until you get to very large units is just misleading. If a 3000 watt inverter is $499 and a 100ah battery is $499, you can literally get a 1kwh "portable" power station for $600. A decent one too.
I was looking at 525w solar panels and I was trying to find info for kwh to ah conversion. Best I could understand is 12v 40ah battery is 480 watts or some shit.
@@samuellipscomb8173Yep. Volts x Amps = Watts. Watt hrs is how long a given electrical appliance will operate as per its wattage consumption... or something like that. Good luck. ❤
