War Of The Worlds
This is a story of ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances - but they are more than just victims in a brutal war.
When astronomers detect a transmission from another galaxy, it is definitive proof of intelligent extra-terrestrial life. The worldâs population waits for further contact with bated breath. They do not have to wait long. Within days, mankind is all but wiped out by a devastating attack; pockets of humanity are left in an eerily deserted world.
As aliens hunt and kill those left alive, the survivors ask a burning question - who are these attackers and why are they hell-bent on our destruction? Emotional, cinematic and rooted in character, it is a unique marriage of human drama and the best science fiction. We will come to realise the alienâs savage attack on earth is not arbitrary; its seeds are being sown before our very eyes.
Set in present-day Europe, War Of The Worlds is a multi-faceted series, written and created by the #BAFTA award winner Howard Overman (#Misfits, #Merlin, #Crazyhead) based on the timeless story by H. G. Wells. It is being Executive Produced by Johnny Caaps, Julian Murphy, and Howard Overman through their company; Urban Myth Films.

Robert Taylor đ I just saw him in the title and Iâd straight but if it helps you
When the radio drama of war of the worlds first came out in people didn't realise that it was a radio drama and thought that aliens were invading earth, and I think this is just a modern day version of that
Nah this is shite
A "real story about "real people with no aliens whatsoever.đ
So if I'm reading between the lines right: There's not going to be any aliens in your alien invasion show.
Cheap bastards
I mean you could say the same thing about Dunkirk, a film about fighting Germans with comparatively few Germans in the film. Yet itâs absolutely fantastic
@@daetoris4473 yeah and that was nolans worst movie.
ADVENTURE TALES gonna pretend for the sake of my rage that you didnât say that. Dunkirk is a phenomenal film, because it accurately depicts the events of operation dynamo.
@@daetoris4473 Whats his worst movie then? Because dunkirk was boring. Well shot and realistic but boring.
I must say I really quite enjoyed the opening 2 episodes of FOX'S War of the Worlds, it's certainly a lot better than the recent BBC production but, even though I thought that first episode looked so promising, sadly it was all downhill from there and way too short to hold my attention. No sign of any tripods yet in FOX'S version, which is disappointing and has to be the highlight of any WOTW's, but the aliens that show up first are weirdly wonderful with just the right amount of jump scares. Once again it bares little to no resemblance to the classic H.G. Wells tale, which will no doubt infuriate some, but as a reimagining it certainly shows plenty of imagination. Who knows how it will end, there's a ton of mystery and unanswered questions, but with 4 episodes and the guarantee of at least one more season it all looks promising, right now I'm watching it again and I'm totally hooked.
RoaryUK itâs going to annoy me if it has no resemblance, how can they even call if war of the worlds if it isnât war of the worlds?
@@alexhampshire2004 All I know is part 3 airs in the UK this evening and, while I like it so far, there's got to be some kind of tripod on it for this show to work further. It may be good to watch, but it's just not War of the World's without them.
@@RoaryUK I'm from the UK and I watch the full thing online although without English subtitles
Bbc take my money! And rip fox!
Also hail spilberg and the 1953s! And our god hg wells!
I'm sorry but I just came here for tripods not talking about human nature
No tripods here just some Boston Dynamics dogs gone very badly rabid... Although actually taken onits own merits this series is pretty grimly powerful & moving and thought-provoking albeit raising so many questions that aren't properly or well answered. (Even after series 2.) Atmospheric and tense though with some really moving scenes.
The contempt for the source material just shines through. Hard, very hard, pass.
They talk as if this is the first time a movie is being made on âhow would we react to an alien invasionâ which weâve already gotten multiple times lol
Trust me this version is way better and way different on a huge scale, I wonât spoil anything but when this black guy is trying to get water from a shop the owner charges him and stabs him, in his defence the guy accidentally shoots the owner and is left on the floor, when the family seen in the trailer come across him, the mother tries to leave him, so the dude pulls the blind girl by his side as hostage before letting her go out of compassion. Weâve never seen something like that in war of the worlds before

I just hope that itâs better than the BBC take on the story
It's better than the BBC version all round, and I mostly liked that version đ
@ I'm a disappointment because of an opinion! Welcome to the real world đđđ
When are they going to make a call of cthulhu show. A book we'd all love to see adapted. War of the worlds is great but I think lovecraftian horror is the best and more of his books should be adapted
It looks a hell of alot better than the recent BBC1 3part take of the war of the worlds...
Anything can be better than that.
Is that the bar we are holding WOTW too now.
Haha foxes version is!
*Shit*
I enjoyed the first war of the world .... let see what happens in the second one.
So there's basically no aliens at all just scary sound effects and shiny lights, the director must be really stupid, so it's like those movies that keeps building up n up then at the end of the movie just a small glance then the end, waste of time, not interested good bye, waste timers...
Yes there are aliens in it and quite creepy they are too đ
Why the fuck is it called the War of the Worlds? Call it something else ffs itâs nothing to do with it
Wut is dis
SOOOoo disappointed in this so far. You gotta tell me there is more to this than those little dog robots???????
Did u see the ending?
@@Ben-jq3ov there are only the sphears that copied the bbc sphears aka cylinder ball
And those robot boston drones that die from two shoots but where able to take down a military base
