War Of The Worlds - #WOTW ☄️
This is a story of ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances - but they are more than just victims in a brutal war.
When astronomers detect a transmission from another galaxy, it is definitive proof of intelligent extra-terrestrial life. The world’s population waits for further contact with bated breath. They do not have to wait long. Within days, mankind is all but wiped out by a devastating attack; pockets of humanity are left in an eerily deserted world.
As aliens hunt and kill those left alive, the survivors ask a burning question - who are these attackers and why are they hell-bent on our destruction? Emotional, cinematic and rooted in character, it is a unique marriage of human drama and the best science fiction. I enjoyed this series more than the recent BBC mini-series.
Doesn't look like the last years of the nineteenth century to me.
Pete Curran I still thunk the BBC mini series was really well done though.
@@danielwhyatt3278 it was very well done, but a lost opportunity to make a faithful adaptation of the book. Jeff Wayne's musical version remains the only "true to the book" one.
@@chrisparkes2179 And the manga in Japan that's currently being serialized. It's a lot more faithful, just takes place in 1901 Maybury England instead. Has the cylinder, etc. too.
@@chrisparkes2179 you wouldn't think it. But the musical version was everything I wanted for an adaptation. If I want war of the worlds, I'll read it or listen to it.

Aye, the bbc with Robbie Carlisle was a disaster. How could they get something so great so wrong. I'm more hopeful of this FOX version.
Yes.i agree.on the face of it it looked close to the novel but sadly veered off course.
People are just having a paddy about it because it doesn’t give them ‘everything’ they want in a topical American movie. I really appreciate that it has some nice originality to the story, despite also sticking close to the time period of the original novel.
As much as I have a love of the novel I have to say the Tom Cruise version was a pretty good contemporary version hitting close to the book.other adaptations try to hard to make it popular with the audience.

Honestly, I’m just glad that they’re actually setting it properly around the world this time, rather than just saying that, but only showing what’s happening in America. Just hope it won’t be the whole indirect alien attack thing, where they know the nation’s being attacked but the camera and character never completely show the enemy, like with 10 Cloverfield Lain.🤞🏼

There's No Tripods in This just dog sized robots
No Tom cruise so it’s gonna be ok to watch

Really not that good and about a third of it is in French.

Bro there wasn't any lightning in the original book, gotta love how the 2005 adaptation made people forget the original novel. Damn. In the original novel Martian cylinders crashed on earth.
