During the dday tour the stage was basically that room, the concerts were inside of it, rain, square stage set, etc. And every concert ended abruptly with Yoongi storming off. Until finally at the last show the lights turned up after the last song and the door was there on stage. And Yoongi opened it and left through it with a smile. Armys all over the world bawled like babies i tell you. The healing and catharsis, oof!

Suga and RM both recommended a book called ALMOND about a boy with a malfunctioning amygdala (which is shaped like an almond). The boy's mother feeds him almonds in an attempt to help him. Suga is eating almonds in a few scenes of the MV.

A wonderful reaction! Just a side note, Suga has said that he thinks that he’s done with his Agust D persona now, that he thinks he’s said everything he wanted to say as Agust D. While that may make some fans sad, it means that he’s in a better place mentally and I can’t wait to see what he has to show us in the future!

A lot of time in the media similar themes are portrayed by the character being trapped in a really tiny space, often in a room of some kind. I love that in this video Yoongi isnt trapped inside a four walls. Void can be as suffocating as a tight space

During his D-Day documentary they stated all these incidents- his mom, his dad’s dad’s cancer, and his attempted suicide were all incidents that occurred before he 20.
The lyrics of The Last were also very deep in talking about his first psychiatric visit of him getting help for his mental health struggles.

Because he was too scared to say what had really happened and how bad the pain was he never got the correct treatment and it got worse and worse until one of the other members talks about how Suga couldn't even hold his mic in that hand. He did come clean about it with the staff in the end but it was a bit too late so his shoulder had to be operated on which he had done in covid. There's a small scar and just above it he's had the number 7 tattooed there. That's their friendship tattoo the Number 7 they did that for their 10th anniversary so all 7 member's have the tattoo someone on their bodies. Suga was the last member to show us his and he did it on the last day of his solo tour where he was able to leave the stage through the door in the MV.

The company knew about his accident and his shoulder some time during predebut tho,,,,,
he was afraid to tell them so he wouldn't be dropped as he thought but when they found out they told him he should have told them sooner. Yoongi was also worried for his studies since he/his family couldn't be able to pay and the company also offered to pay for him which was a huge relief and a weight taken from yoongi's shoulders plus the company also said they will wait for him for him to get better. he didn't tell the members for some years but they know now and he finally had surgery in late 2020 because just taking meds, injections and using medical tape wasn't enough. like you said he couldn't hold something as simple as a water bottle and covid was the perfect time for this surgery since he wouldn't have to worry about activities as much and he could recover properly (the tannies couldn't do a tour so it was a perfect time). So yeah I just had to correct you a little bit

Like so much of what Yoongi has done is raw vulnerability layer open to show us how human he is. As someone that gets trapped in their head a lot it felt so incredibly relatable. It let me really understand that we must process our hard times not do what I tend to which is endlessly compartmentalize until I break. The whole album blew me away but this is intimate. 💜💜💜

I got the sense from the video that the trapped version is stuck reliving these memories and the pain turns inward/the scar is created. And as we saw in Daechwita and Haegum, eventually that pain turns outward and begins to harm others.
It’s an amazing commentary on trauma, and I cry half the time I hear it.

I loved it when you said that this video made you hopeful, that you feel less alone, that you feel less like you're crazy for having certain thoughts. I think that's what a lot of his fans feel and I am really grateful that he shares his experiences of these topics in his songs with us. I'm sure he's aware of how much comfort he brings people with his music. I think the fandom collectively cried with him during that last concert when he broke down in tears during several songs only to in the end walk through that door to reassure us that he made it, that he is better.

  • @AiHeartYou
    @AiHeartYou Před 7 měsíci +2

His concert was genuinely amazing. I really cannot stress enough how thoughtful the stage design, story telling, and transitions were. The stage pieces moved up and down depending on the song, at one point ending with him on just one square all alone. There was fire, effects, and the dancers were incorporated so well. Even before the concert started as people got settled the atmosphere was set with blue and red lighting, rain on the main screen, and sounds of a storm. Being with my best friends and getting to see Yoongi up close passionately performing was unforgettable. Among many, one moment in particular I hold dear is him performing Intro:Nevermind right in front of my area, getting to say NEVERMIND back to him at the very end 🥹. It was all such an honor to witness as a fan. As many people have said at the very last concert in Seoul he smiled and left through a white door like the one in this MV, I’m so proud of him. Waiting for 2025 is gonna be a hard for many of us missing BTS.

I only discovered your channel today, been watching the newest videos and if I’m not mistaken you mentioned that you’re in a better mental space - which I’m glad, and also glad this video helped, idk when you reacted to it since you said it was on patreon only before.
Commenting on the video and Agust D, I’ve been an army for a bit more than a year, so I didn’t follow through it all but man hearing him speak about his past makes me feel both sad and relived. He’s been through so much, like this accident happened before the debut (?) so for his whole career he’s been in pain, all of the mental struggles, family problems, the entire industry looking down on them, specially on the rap line since they’re idols… it’s just a lot, specially for a young adult discovering about themself. I’m glad he had music to express himself, and he talks a lot about how much anger he had, as you mentioned, and now he’s with much more peace. His whole discography is so cathartic, so emotional, so personal.
I hope his music can also be this place of hope for many more, or even to release anger and feeling of injustice.

I love watching some people watch this video... But only some. I need to trust them to take it seriously and treat it sensitively. I trust you.
It's a beautiful, beautiful video. A work of art, for real. I think it does exactly what he wanted it to do. The simplicity is so intentional, every still is so striking.
I find this video hard but not, for me, damaging. It does bring up my own past, but it feels so honest that it's somehow healing. And even though he doesn't reach the door in the video, he also spends the whole thing trying so hard to stay alive. That's real, and it's easy to forget that sometimes it's hard. To forget to honor the younger self that stuck it out when there was no visible future, in my case.
I admire Yoongi so much for giving us his story in a way that connects him to everyone else who has experienced similar things. It's like Jungkook's line at the start of Magic Shop: instead of saying comforting words, he's sharing his story.
I know folks have already shared this, but I'm so glad he walked through the door that last night 💜

To me this video feels like the visualization of Sugas pain. It did something to me the first time i watched it. As someone who is also stuck on painful memories, it just resonated with me. This is my favourite song and still somehow soothes me even though the subject matter and the video are so dark. Somehow seeing his pain eases mine a little, i feel like Suga might be glad knowing he can do this for others.

Was going to apologize by saying: Suga's entire live Concert is one I do not have the courage to watch. Currently. This song was not only about the trauma this kid has struggled with from Birth. When He sang "I Don't Know Your name". As Army...well - for me as A West Indian Army Mom...it brought up my own trauma. At 14 yrs old being viciously attacked/nearly R-Word and stabbed etc multiple times yet fought like hell and survived.
It brought up memories..I've kept buried for YEARS (at 56yrs today) as....back then and to this day. There IS no form of Therapy offered on my tiny Island or many others.
Happened during my Xmas vacation on another Island. Was expected to BURY IT. NOT TALK nor reveal it to my classmates. So having to sit through classes and appear to be 'normal'....nearly broke me. The perpetrator/Monster was never caught.
He was (from all accounts) a 21/22 yr old on a Fishing Boat from a nearby Island. Their Fishing boat happened to be docked on the same Island our Yatcht was - that fateful night. I was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
What sealed the deal and BROKE ME? Was knowing this Monster got away. Sailed back to his Island. And 3 months later.....a 14 yr old went missing. Took them 2 months to find her body (up in de Mountains) she'd been R-Word. - then took another week to find her head. and I KNOW TO THIS DAY - same guy.
I was just 'lucky'. Side Note: He's walking around to this day a free man. God knows his other victims. Our Islands are slow to add 1+1+1+1 "Missing Girls" = MAY mean A Serial Killer ? Nope. Point being: Apologies' again for being so graphic. This song - broke down my carefully placed barriers set in STONE for yrs. had to BURY THAT MEMORY....or lose my freaking mind (at 14 ) So I basically applied self therapy n kept it moving.
So yea Suga. While you are my Bias (next to Kookie) ? Is going to take a while *deep breathe* to view your live Concert. Borahea, Sir 💜💜
Edit: Truth be told? A Serial Killer can get away with Atrocities.. and use our Islands....as 'his play ground'. Our Po Po are untrained/stupid/corrupt. And simply do not give a flying F**k. Unless it concerns a 'White Rich 'Murican Tourist'...like Natalie Halloway and even then?
Nuff said: SLAYS ME.....that to this day....this Potential 'Serial Killer' is walking around on an another, Island. He TRIED to grab me that night - I got away. Took out his anger on another 14 yr old - couple months later - then took pleasure in removing her head.....casually kicked it down the Mountain side. SERIOUSLY? Wish I had the funds to bring this to the SPOTLIGHT.
Oh well. I guess 'living in' a 3rd World Country has it's pros n cons 😑😑

  • @foreverinsfired
    @foreverinsfired Před 8 měsíci +1

I believe this video is very layered and has many stories within it, including his accident and injury, his concern for his parents' lives, his depression, etc. Most extremely tho this video seems to depict an attempt on his life. He's strongly implied this in his first mixtape, but acting it out and really sharing it is something entirely different.
I know some people will disagree with this interpretation, though as someone who has lived this I can say how eerily parallel this video is. First, I don't believe he is napping in that room. We can see him twitching at 2:04 and see an open bottle of pills on the right stand 2:11. He also then leaves his own body in an outer-soul experience. The hardest parts of this video for me to watch is him 4:44 struggling and climbing to that door which seems to represent a few things, but one being life/surviving. He changes his mind and is fighting to live. Or, maybe he's even just too afraid of not reaching the door.
The other hardest part being 5:19 to the end. The younger version of him at 5:24 appears to be before his accident took place since he is not injured yet, nor afraid of driving. It doesn't represent a trigger(bc nothing happened yet) instead that is his inner child running to save him.
Yoongi is seen going through his memories in the video so he is going sorta backwards in time. He finally reaches the time before the accident and this is the part of him that resists the attempt. Terrified, younger him runs as fast as he can 5:28 to get to the room, but the door is locked. He tries to break through but the video ends without clearly showing what happens next. The Amygdala is the survival mechanism of our brain and I think that is truly the deep core of the song. He's pleading with even his own anatomy, both literally and figuratively as for a greater power or force beyond himself, to save him and let him live.
I've only been able to watch the video a few times but I always cry when the younger self reaches the other side of the door. This video is so tragic. It's great he is healing now and in a better place with a better direction. It gives me a lot of hope and encouragement that he got to walk through the door in his last concert.

The visuals of this accident don't match what really happened. The real accident was much worse. He became trapped under the car near the wheel base, and couldn't get out. So he spared us the real visuals. Challenge. Watch Suga's D-Day concert on the last day when he completely Let's Go and expresses in depth every emotion of every song. I cried. You watch it and see how you feel. In my opinion it is The Best Concert of any concert I've ever seen in my life! Please watch it! See Below.

i really appreciate what you said about the album because he was only able to make D-DAY after going through everything in agust d and D2. d-day feels like a walk down this first chapter of his story as agust d and also his personal journey as yoongi to learn how to deal with himself and how to process everything that happened to him while still being able to look forward to the future. an album that has amygdala as the fourth track and then finishes with life goes on (after snooze btw), it’s an album about growth. i’m with you, i’m happy to have witnessed his journey and i’m happy for him and hopeful for all of us. 🥹
