I could be wrong , so please let me know if I am. Another benefit is that you will be using both legs while peddling. While one is peddling down the other is lifting the other peddle. So both legs are peddling at the same time.

Agree with you. I noticed after 2 spinning classes, my feet were hurting on position 3. Started thinking that I need spin shoes and came here to see if my hypothesis was right.

Can you talk about toes going numb.. I had to buy new spin shoes because my sister misplaced mine. The new pair I got seems to make my toes go numb. I was sized for the new pair at my local bike shop and he said I was a 44. My old pair were a 43 and they fit great. Help please..

Keisha Chan Numb toes suck! A few quick questions. How quickly do they go numb? Is there also pain associated with it? Is this during spin class or while riding a bike or both?
Sizes among manufacturers differ somewhat. One manufacturer’s 43 might be the same size as another manufacturer’s 44. My greater concern is general fit. Is it comfortable? Is the width of your foot being accommodated by the width of the shoe (basically are your shoes wide enough?). If the shoe is not comfortable really in any respect, you should continue to look for a shoe that is. Pretty much common sense but you would be surprised how people might be willing to compromise because a shoe looks ‘cool’.
Assuming your shoe is comfortable, the next thing I would look at are cleats and cleat position. For some, spd cleats are more comfortable than look/delta/road cleats. And for some vice versa. You may want to experiment between the two.
Another option is to reposition your cleats. They all have some ability to adjust fore/aft and side to side. Speak to the fitter at the store to make some minor changes. If that doesn’t work, find a fitter who can do a cleat fitting. If the cleats are all the way front, move them to the back to see if that helps at all and vice versa.
A final suggestion is the easiest to try. We find many of our customers will really strap in tightly before their rides. For many this is fine. For some though, really ratcheting the shoe down sometimes limits the space the foot has available to expand in. Most people’s feet will expand a bit within the first 15 minutes of a ride/spin class. So our advice is to really wear the shoes super loose for the first 15 minutes (really loose!) and then start tightening them down afterwards.
      Thanks so much for watching!
