The reason the chosen doesn’t have a Y ability is because of his veterancy. You don’t realize it until you main him but the chosen will get veterancy faster than most units. Its like he has an invisible battle hardened ability active. (Speaking as a level 98 former atriox main)
It makes me happy seeing fans that love halo just as much as me
It's because of the glitch that makes it so units only get veterancy when standing still. His range is insane and he usually stands without micro.
Other heros will vet up just as fast but you have to tediously micro them so they stand still

I really can't see how Kinsano isn't put as the worst hero on this list, like Arbiter can attack air, Kinsano can't.

The sheer number of colony upgrades is where it's at. His beam doesn't miss so there is no wasted DPS. All the same tech upgrades as other heros. Plus he gets op siphon AND combat repair. Then you add 2 skits to buff his health and offense, each that have a beam upgrade, and can benefit from vehicle tech upgrades. Veterancy layers on. Stick him in a Garrison and laugh as he takes zero health loss with extreme range beam that doesn't miss. He 1v1s basically everything. Only drawbacks is that he's slow and gets beat by invisibility.
I faced a 3v3 legendary AI and my hunter captain just stopped them from coming near the base. The only time I had to retreat him out was when a scarab joined the fray. Praise teleport
His counter is the brute warrior bc he can stun that hunter with every hit and stops his weapon siphon
Yeah the captain is vulnerable to disables liek any other units, can be overwhelmed especially before siphon overcharge, and as said, he is not fast enough to answer to threats. Also, he doesn't really deal splash damage so he can be swarmed to death.
Other that that he is a complete monster that just refuses to ever go down, and demands insane firepower to even see his health go down at all... if you want to take on the hunter captain, you send your entire army after him, there is no other option especially if he has a detection unit nearby
You forgot that Skitterers can, and should, be buffed with the higher armor+range power before you attach them. On HVC, Scarab, or any unit really. Makes a difference, especially when you do the Engineer-Skitterer combo

Colony is the only hero i bought, and my god the Hunter Captain with his skitterers are busted.
I use him almost exclusively and watched a vet 3 fully upgraded colony with skitterers and combat repair 1v1 a scarab and win
i love Hunter Captain, the range and damage is insane, even tho he is slow.

Personally my top 5 are Goblin Grunt, Hunter Captain, Jerome and Omega Team, Decimus and the War Lord, and the Ice Cream Truck. One of my favourite things to do with Jerome and Omega team is to get a max population army and then use all the spartans to high jack a wraith, scorpion, grizzly, vulture, kodiak or blister back and then go trolling with my 140+ population army.
When you show Jerome concept art when you talk about Alice: feels bad man.

It breaks my heart how low you think of Pavium's hero! Also atriox didn't get a y ability due to how much splash dmg his regular shot does plus it also slows units.
I saw a one v one where he beat the atriox chosen on all upgrade levels, with a decent amount of health left. He is my favourite leader because he is tanky as hell, has massive vision and that Y ability is broken with leader powers, I feel like his reputarion he got is from people just undermining him so they use him poorly, he has crushed many armies alone for me, mot to mention how cool he looks, with that tin can on his back, hilarious.

Pavium is also very good if you put him in a Wraith invader full of troops.

Lol the raging arbiter with maxed conduit can literally 1v1 every hero though.
That literally doesn’t matter everything before that is trash, I do think that honor guard and vori is worse tho
It’s not about 1v1’s it’s overall usefulness.
@@alexreyes7237 each hero is meant for a certain style, Honor Guard scouting for Let Volir because his tactics involve quick teleportation, and Voridus is amazing for group control and healing your troops, personally i think Voridus is amazing.

Overall great list. Almost totally agree with you. Only thing i would change is, atriox' hero a place lower and move up douglas.
Would it make sense if you do ranking for like every unit. E.g. like weakest to strongest infantry unit , vehicle and so on?
I love shipmaster and colony. Both are amazing leaders and hero’s.

I feel like Colony's hero unit Is under developed... The intent was a hero unit that would function Like a tank in a MMORPG... Except they also gave it a lot of firepower... I don't understand that I feel like instead of nerfing his health they should have left that the same and nerved his weapon that way He can make sense with his actual intent
Edit: From a game design perspective in order to make him function as not Super tanky, You would need to overhaul ALL of his upgrades As they would no longer serve her purpose... At that point you might as well give colony a bran new entirely separate hero unit
Hunter captain is the best get him lvl 3 and you’ll regret it once his on a garrison taking out your whole army with just a leader ability of engineer swarms
I know this is a 1 year old comment but the thing is snipers are the nightmare of a colony main (at least to my perspective)
It’s crazy how I’m still new to this game but I became a colony main at some point, still there’s some struggles here and there but I enjoy the excitement and the rechargeable go with this guy

I would put the chosen higher personally because of how fast he vets and put decimus and colony equal. Other than that I wouldn’t change a thing
Decimus and colony equal? Heck no the warlord is only good against other heros nothing else and the decimus drop is only good for his y ability and health he does pretty bad damage .Colonys hunter captain has insane health and pretty good damage
I agree with you on yapyap because I main him and love using all three of his mechs in three different armies of heavy grunts hitting from multiple sides and them heal all the heavy grunts around them to keep the fight lasting while I train more heavy grunts and most of the time overwhelm my opponent with cheap expandable muscle. Love your vids and completely agree on the captain though cause my god he a beast
Why not have a tournement with the hero units maxed out.
Colony's weakness is getting chain stunned, the warlord can do that and it's why it'll beat the HC in a 1v1 with no support on either side. But if you stun the HC enough it won't be able to siphon and stay alive
A 3 vet garrisoned hunter commander can take on 3 condors lol
You didnt mention you can put symbyosis on scitterers then put them on Hunter Capitan early game so not sure if you are aware of that but i agree hes number 1. He is slow though.
Also the chosen can be completly useless if enemy has 1 shroud as it shoots down every slow shot he fires, no Y ability, misses sometimes and yea he leaves goop on the ground but you can just move out of it so i think he should be last.
I would love to see if a vet 3 hunter captain with symbyosis scitterers and combat repair can take on omega team. Y abilities included.

personally I think it is hard to make one list for the hero's. At tech 2 upgrade all the hero's get changed in some way that makes them honestly op in comparison with all other tech one leaders. for instance Johnson's heal is quite bad at tech one but with the damage reduction of tech two is one of the best.
Arbiter is my favorite. Then Shipmaster.
Colony has 1 problem and that is that his beams(Forgot how that leader power called) Disappears when you shoot
Pavium and Voridus(I think that's how you spell it) are my favorite leaders and units

Pavium kills the Atriox chosen btw. He has extended vision and his final upgrade makes him an insane bullet sponge, it truly beguils me how you placed him so low, Voridus is worse than he is as muvh as I love Voridus and his infusion the hero is underwhelming. Ice cream truck should be number one since it is the most powerful for fighting armies, the area denial and frist splash damage is far more useful than any other leaders powers (apart from hunter captain maybe).

I just bought a Xbox Series S Black Carbon to play this game with no foliage nvidia bug.
I'm surprised at the ranking of red team, I thought they'd be right next to one another first of and I personally think Alice is better than Jerome, her machine gun shreds in the early game and once she gets vet infantry doesn't stand a chance, Jerome is probably mt least favourite red team member but they are all kinda meh

1-Colony, have no weakness but do not deal alot of damag
2-Shipmaster, too powerfull, too fast, but he dont have the HP of colony^^
3-Pavium, because of is attack range too op
4-Jerome, we all know why ^^
5-Arbiter, yeah ik, he s 5, but the ability to do conduit of rage at lv2 is just too op, and he two shot banshee while in rage... just too op if used correctly
6-Voridus, balanced hero, mid damag and mid tanking, and his ability is so cool ^^
7-Atriox, because of the slow ability
8-Serina, because in early rush its just insane ^^
9-Douglas, very strong against air unit
10-Yap yap, not because its weak, just because its very difficult to use it well and for my opinion not so op
11-Forge, mid strengh hero
12-Kinsano, same
13-Decimus, the deci drop is op, the warlord isnt for my opinion
14-Cutter, good on early, bad on late
15-Jonson, almost the worst i think
16-Alice, just BRUH
So this is my ranking, my favorite hero to plays are arbi, shipmaster, voridus, and serina, but colony is just too op ^^

The warlord should be WAY lower on the list. Granted their Y abilities are awesome BUT, literally just walk away or use air to kill them. Just saying...

Cool video! Agree on most ranks. Though I think Jerome Mantis is very strong and with it being an air killer early on makes him a little better than yapyap. I need to try this ice cream truck thing🤔. Also totally agree on Arbiter but I too also loved playing him in Halo wars 1.
