    ABOUT US
    Hi, we’re Chris and Mandy, travel bloggers and creators from Australia. Since December 2015, we have been travelling and exploring the world full-time. We usually spend 1-2 months in each place we travel to and love really getting to know a place. One of our favourite ways to get to know a destination is through food, and we share all of our food guides here on CZcams and on our travel blogs. We love to pack light, travelling the past 3 years with carry-on only. On AlmostLanding.com, we share in-depth guides to help you plan the best trip, we often have free printable guides you can download or print out, we’ve created our own travel maps pinpointing our favourite picks for different places so you can easily find everything and make travel planning easy. We have another travel blog all on Bali, AlmostLanding-Bali.com, we’ve spent so much time in Bali and share everything we know and love about this beautiful island. We’ve fallen in love with travel and blogging, and we wanted to create a space for other travel lovers and life dreamers. Thanks for being a part of Almost Landing, and make sure to say hi :)

    Love your videos, I'm a foreigner living in Shanghai and I make some CZcams videos about local hotels

    Agree! Ma Jiang & Dan Dan Mian are the best dry noodle dishes. So amazing. It's like mixing spicy peanut butter onto pasta. Even better if the noodles are made fresh and you can watch them pull them by hand before serving it to you.

      You two seem very adventurous. Just curious, are there very authentic versions in Oz, similar to the foods that you have tried during your travels? Before the current situation, did you guys eat a lot of ethnic cuisine at home?

    • @almostlanding
      @almostlanding  Před 3 lety

      Hmm, good question! I would say there are some but they really require seeking out. We love to eat a lot of different cuisines :)

    I strongly recommend that you go to Chongqing, Chengdu and Xi'an, where noodles are the paradise of noodles. Many flavors of noodles in the video come from these cities and these cities have a longer history and different scenery and culture than Shanghai.

      We would love to visit those places, thanks so much for the suggestions :) So much to explore in China.

    Not sure if this is gonna be featured in your upcoming Shanghai episodes, but one of my all time fave Shanghai noodle shop would include Taikang, situated alongside bustling Nanjing Road East Pedestrian Street. Nonetheless, great episode.

      Thanks for the tip, unfortunately we didn't go there, will have to make it there next time! What type of noodle dishes do they do?

      @@almostlanding Classic Shanghai noodles like spicy diced pork noodles, fried scallion noodles, pork cutlet noodles, etc. They also do soup dumplings which they are renowned for too. Can't wait for border control to ease soon, so that I may return to one of my fave cities in the world.
