    Glad you are back at it! I think lots of people were managing some form of a respiratory illness recently, but your videos are good , keep it going!

    I think the challenge would be a (mostly) full on resto ..... get it running first . Weld up some new running boards and get the chassis solid ,,,then (maybe) detail it ..... new seat, etc .....

    I think that Skeeter is justtoo far gone. I've had several Polaris sleds from the 70's and I think your little 250 will be pretty cool when you finish it. A cool project idea for you would be a 6 wheeled Argo. Very cool machines.

    Good job on these videos and keeping these vintage sleds around. No snow in MN this year either, we had 1 day with enough to test ride a couple projects. Keep it up 👍

    I have recently semi restored a 1980 Scorpion TK Whip 440 that the previous owner had left sitting outside for over 15 years. The engine compartment, crankcase, exhaust, air box, carb were completely full of acorns, mouse nesting and excrement. A friend of mine, who is way sharper than I am with engines, was afraid that it was toast. He disassembled and cleaned everything. The sled now runs beautifully. I put in TONS of hours of cosmetic work and it will now make its first appearance at a vintage show in April. I still have ways to go on it but it’s a survivor. Your videos are awesome! I’d love to see you get that Evinrude going again.

      Awesome story! I’m not completely against going at it again but sometimes things are too far gone to dump a lot of time and money into

      @@NewHampshireVintage i completely agree with you. I have way more money in my sled than it’s worth but that’s only because it has sentimental value. This was the first model of sled I ever got to ride as a kid and it brings back great memories. If it wasn’t for that, I would’ve never put forth the effort in bringing it back.

    Wait a minute ya restore the first sled . Take the motor of and take it apart and restore it . . I work on small engines and I like to watch other people restore old units like this so don't give up on it just finished working on the first sled . Take the motor out and restore it.

    • @NewHampshireVintage
      @NewHampshireVintage  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes and I agree. I can take apart an engine but once that’s done then you have the rust repair then you have clutch rebuild and then you have to replace little things like coils and wires and switches and all those things add up and now your tons of money into a snowmobile that they made so many of you can get a decent one on marketplace for the same amount that’s a lot cleaner. If this was my childhood sled and I had a lot of sentimental value it would totally be worth it. But like I said in the video if a lot of people want to see this thing get going I’m not opposed to it.
