All the best Pat and John. Take care and hopefully all goes well for you if the cyclone 🌀 comes near to you. You’ve done a great job of securing things down.
I remember our first Cyclone out on the farm as a little kid. The old man had built the humpy pretty solidly and it was tucked in under a sheltering hill. The neighbours were more exposed and spent all day and night tossing number 8 wire over and tying things down to logs. Luckily hardly any big structural damage in the area from the big blow, but I remember dear old Ma going out to use the old fibro shootin' gallery in the morning and finding it tipped over on the ground! 😱🙄😁 Larry did a lot of damage in my own area (only lost a machinery shed roof ourselves) but some elderly friends down Innisfail way had window glass all through their farmhouse and the roof taken off. Yaesi went south of us but made a mess of Cardwell! Appreciate the rain Hughey but you can keep the wind! 👿
I was here for Larry. Gave Innisfail, Mission beach and Cardwell a hiding. Yasi was the worst, here it sounded like a huge train coming up the mountain in the gusts. Worst night of our lives I think. John
i hope you just get the rain.we have had 4 major storm's in the UK this year. when i think back ,i can only think of one big storm when i was about 10.now it's 5 or 6 a year.hope it go's ok .stay safe. gary.
well John seems like this system 2 models say you are goin to be hammered, and 2 say bad but not so bad, all in all but batten down the hatches and prepare for the worst i guess, good luck son and god speed
hi guys, i checked 4 different models and they all say it will land Innisfail to just shy of Port Douglas, tuesday mid day, and you will get a lot of rain, likely need rain coats, so take care and good luck
That confirms what I have found although more precise. The good thing about your prediction is landfall in the daytime. Yasi peaked at midnight. It was a pretty scary night. John

Thanks. There is not much we can do other than make preparations. John
Definitely concerned about bushfires around here (especially yesterday!), but I'm glad we don't have to worry about cyclones!!
There is always something. John
Good luck to you both. Gee I wouldn't mind borrowing Pat to assist with the wood splitting. What a ream!
Fingers crossed! We have had a bit of practice with the wood splitter. John

So far so good Jim. The cyclone is tracking slowly towards us. The weather forecast is for the cyclone to track north of us as it gets closer. John

I dont think it will come to much. Seems to be moving north of us and weakening. John
