I am 74 and I have pictures of my great-grandfather in the metropolitan police. I was so proud of him and the force. What has happened that I am so disappointed in the police now.

My father was in the police from 1950 to the late 1980s. He left because he said it was all about the graduates. They stopped promoting coppers past a certain level that had been on the beat and drafted in graduates who had no experience at all. These graduates hadnt a clue what it was like to be in the firing line yet gave all the orders and made all the decisions.

my lovely dad started in the police force in 1937, aged 17, I was also very proud of him and the force, it’s so very different now sadly
@@jackiegould1569 Yes , there is so much confusion these days about education and experience and I think this is the root cause of many services mal functioning. The fast tracking of graduates with little or no work experience has proved to be a huge error of judgement , and particularly so when the subject qualified in has no relevance to the post acquired. I have no objection to anybody qualifying to degree level , but that should not be taken as an automatic ticket into a high status job with high remuneration. Experience can never be gained from a book and wisdom is often a corollary of hands on in job.
IMO it’s the judges that release criminals

Here in America, we call it Term Limits. We want Term Limits for the Senate and Congress. Part of our Establishment problem is we have people who have been in government for 30 plus years. I like your suggestion of 5 years.
You mean career politicians, they leave school, go to college for ten years and then become politicians for the next 30 to 40 years without ever having had a job anywhere else.
This programme is wonderful therapy. It provides an emotional outlet for the bemused public who look on in exasperation as the planks of Britain act out their various roles.
Harry and you guys and everyone should be sympathetic to other children who lost their mother when young. Most made something of themselves and NOT wallow in self pity.
My grandsons lost their mother in April...the younger one was eight. No time for self-pity
I lost my Mum at age 11 and it sucks. ❤
I lost my Dad when i was young. The take home message for me was the importance of staying in school and having a career so i could support my family if the worst should happen. Growing up in the 70’s, most girls wanted a find a guy who would take care of them.

I live in the northeast, but I used to live in Orange County in Southern California for seven years and I attended and graduated from school in San Diego- SDSU. I thought I wanted to attend UC Santa Barbara. I realized it wasn’t the right school for my major. Montecito is in Santa Barbara and if my memory serves me correctly, Santa Barbara is approximately two and one half hours from Los Angeles county. It never made any sense to me that Meghan insisted on moving to Montecito. I can not emphasize enough- She DOES NOT live in LA like so many channels report. It’s a 4+ hour round trip to and from Los Angeles county.

Never understood either as to why, her who was so eager to move back to Los Angeles to mingle with the Hollywood stars, chose to move to Montecito, 2 1/2 hours from Los Angeles. Maybe it was to be close to Okra and Ellen de Génères. It didn’t make sense to us, but remember, everything is calculated with her. So, she thought Okra and Ellen were going to open up doors for her.
Law enforcement is exactly the same here in USA! Those of us who have Ring cameras and have vids of thefts get zero satisfaction. Makes you wonder why bother. The only good thing about it is if someone is trying to break in to our home in the middle of the night we’ll be alerted to get in touch with our special friends, Mr. Smith & Mr. Wesson.
We, too, keep waiting for adults to re-enter the world. Disgusting.

The top show that I've watched all 2023. It has a bit of everything in it. Back in the day at this time of year I use to look forward to Christmas/New Year specials like The Two Ronnies, Bruce Forsyth, Mike Yarwood, sadly nothing like that exists anymore but Plank of the Week and Plank of the Year beats everything hands down now and I never miss it. 😊😊😊😂😂😂

Good call the BBC I'm 73 and I'm going to stop paying my licence, even though it's only 18months before I get a free license, as I'm on pension credit. It's a matter of principle
No free license for 75 + any more sorry. After 5 years of not paying my wife paid last year found old T.V. And never felt so sick watching so much sh.t knowing we paid , never again

I love your show and watch it every week it comes out early morning here in New Zealand. I can't understand how you are still paying a tv license, we haven't paid it for years as people collectively refused to pay it and called it an unfair tax, even though back then there was decent programmers on TV , many of which were BBC programmes. Now they just have crappy low budget and un entertaining rubbish.

Most of us don’t pay for the license, which means we can’t watch the Bbc or live broadcasts. If we do , we can be fined £1000 or jailed if we refuse to pay the fine. Madness.
I've stopped Paying for my Bias BBC Licence. Sick of the BBCs wokeness and stupidly. A Pantomime on BBC. Two days ago. Had a Black Robin Hood.. They have featured on one of their Period dramas. I agree with James regarding the met. After spending 4 months in the UK, I witnessed the weakness of lawless Britian. It starts at the top and if you want to see how to run a met or police department, get some training from a system that works, come to Oz. We actually respect our police and hierarchy. 🇦🇺

i would support prosecutions if there was any credible evidence. Statements made have been shown to be impossible. For example one witness said she saw 3 beheaded women, Israel itself has confirmed there were no beheaded women. ICC was concerned about such reports and rightly visited Israel to investigate and try to prosecute but ICC made statement that Israel was not cooperating in handing over evidence. you cannot expect people to accuse people of something horrible when there is holes in the evidence and one of people involved wont show his face but known to work for Hasbara the Israeli Propaganda machine.

Scotland has not gone down the drain!!! Granted, the SNP are just awful but somehow people just plod on. I live on a beautiful Scottish Island and it’s bliss. I moved from the South of England because where I come from is now full of Muslims and Eastern Europeans!
