I’ve been training with rings for a few years now. There’s literally no better equipment than rings. If your creative you can even do leg exercises with them
All you can do for rings with your legs is spot yourself while doing squat variations. Other than that, I guess you can do leg curls and extensions but for the lower body, you're just better off with weight
Can't agree more. My favourite. The instability they provide feels like it makes every simple move a compound exercise. You'll turn into a beast by just doing push-ups on them instead of the ground!
Can you tell us what are the good exercises using rings for beginner? I am doing calisthenics /free weights training in my apartment. I have standalone pull-up bar and I am thinking whether I should consider rings and what for specifically.
Much Respect from SoCal, been watching you fellas for almost a decade, Thanks for the Time and Effort you two put in, and know you guys have hardcore fans out here
I've been following you for years and without a doubt my whole life has improved after that, what I like the most are the explanations on how to perform the movements correctly. Could you do a short about the progression in pull ups up to one arm like you did for push ups? Thanks for the free content.
Thanks guys! Last week a asked you about which equipment is better (Gornation or Pullup & Dip - I wanted to choose for my purchase) and you made this video. Great!!!
There’s a park nearby that I run workouts at and my car always has: Gymnastics Rings Resistance Bands Jump Rope Weight Vest Chalk The park already has pullup bars, parallel dip bars, and various heights of steps for step ups. It has been a few years and I still haven’t outgrown this setup!
Body armour is just as good as a weighted vest for working out but has another use. For sit-ups I use a really heavy old British mark 6A Kevlar helmet to add weight and it gives a neck workout at the same time.
I train planche using books as parallettes. I use a table for bodyweight rows or bodyweight bicep curls. And chairs for chest dips or other dips variations. Someday I would be able to buy some of these, even just the budget ones.
You can make basic rings pretty easily. A short length of pipe or PVC, run a rope through and tie into a circle. Then attach to something with more rope. You can also glue two pieces of plywood together, cut circles out of them, and round them off with sander, file, etc. But that's getting close to "easier to pay Amazon for them than to do the work", especially if you're busy or don't have good access to tools and lumber.
You are brilliant! You dear spectator and sportsmate! Don't worry about the prices! I've been to a flea market today, and there's always something like that when we look at it: 1. Skipping rope EUR 0.5 2. A ring hoop with a small rope is 1 euro 3. Dumbbells can be welded at home. Don't worry about the prices! I've been to a flea market today, and there's always something like that when we look at it: 1. Skipping rope EUR 0.5 2. A ring hoop with a small rope is 1 euro 3. Dumbbells can be welded at home. 4. I already bought good used running shoes once for 8 euros. 5. Finding a coaching/training partner and lasting motivation are much harder in many cases. For example, I was surprised at how much a training partner is valued by clubs. This is also true in Hungary, Austria, Germany and Spain. They quickly accommodate new athletes even with very poor language skills.
I've always loved just thinking and finding something to workout on or with because it's a mind exercise before a body exercise. Also I'm to cheap to pay for a gym membership.
Rings for the win! The first time you use them it's like you have no strength at all 😆 they are very humbling, but after a while using them it makes the bar feel easy in comparison.
I use rings and pull up bar (hanging on chains), but for front lever and muscle up I would like to use resistance bands to learn it. Just stucking in progression. So how many % of bodyweight do you recommend?
Best thing is that you can make some of these at home, like rings which you can make out of a rope and pvc pipes, also the pushup handles can be made from more pipes (yes i know alota pipes), and best thing is if you make them well they’ll last a while
I think those door frame pull up bars are good for steel framed doors but they are dubious for door architraves that are just glued to paper faced plasterboard and brad fixed to the frame.
Please upload a video where you max out your squat, bench press, deadlift and military Overhead Press. I want to see how strong you guys are after years of training calisthenics. It would be really interesting
I agree it'd be interesting. I think they would benefit from a month or two of training the lifts, first. That's just so technique wouldn't be a hindrance
it's like asking a lifter to show how many muscle ups, handstand pushups and planche pushups can he do, it makes zero sense. specificity in training is a crucial factor.
@@dwat3r Why do you think they have Rogue bumper plates, Barbell and a half rack in their gym genius? They do weight training also. It's just that calisthenics is their main form of working out
The cool thing about paralettes is that you can make them at home by using books and leaving space between them then putting 3 pound dumbbell and you can adjust the height
For real though I find gym equipment at goodwill all the time whether it's a couple weight plates or a medicine ball always costs like 5 dollars tops. You can fine nice chairs there sturdy enough for excercise purposes aswell. If you are handy with tools(and own tools or know someone who does) building some dip bars or something is actually very easy and very cheap.
I purchased pushup bars today. I have a skinny body but I am naturally better at calisthenics than avg. Person and some of my gym go-er friends, even though i don't have any history of gym, exercises, athletics, etc. And I have been thinking to improve my physique using calisthenics. I will try my best to train everyday...Gonna keep you guys updated!!👍
Looking at beginning of the video and thinking to myself, man those are some sturdy chairs... I cannot do a dip on any chair due to height. But rings look like the best option.

there is no way to find a better calisthenics youtube channel, I love quality of your videos!
