Hitman 2 - The Dark Side of Helen West
Vložit

- This video captures as much dialogue and interactions that I could find involving Helen West: the Muffin lady of Whittleton Creek. As 47 digs deeper, he learns some dark and disturbing secrets about this serial killer in the making.
- Hry
It’s sad that developers had spent a lot of time on dialogue but yet most people ignore it
True, but even if no one ever discovered it, I think that IOI would still add this type of dialogue. The whole team is driven to produce a game beyond normal expectations and the story line developers take such pride in their work.
There are lots of people who appreciate the details, dialogue, and backstory in the Hitman maps.
they will notice it though, and without it, the game would feel alot more..... empty
These little sub-stories are a nice touch.

TBH I think Helen West should've been an optional hidden Target, like the female assassin in Blood Money's "You Better Watch Out" mission. If you discover Helen West's serial killing operation, Diana should authorise (or retroactively endorse) 47 killing West. Would've added a nice extra bit of depth and variance to an already great level.
Yes
Yeah. I wish they did that in a load of levels. I want more 47 and Diana being good people, not just killing those who the contract says to kill, for better or worse.
The first level of Hitman Contracts involves you discovering that your Target wasn't the one that kidnapped, tortured (implicitly raped) and murdered your clients daughter, but it was actually his brother who is in the building with him. You are still to carry out the contract as normal and get a non-target kill penalty for killing his brother.

Wow, I’ve noticed Helen’s first phone call with Janus and the body parts in her twisted cannibalistic serial killer basement and knew she was dodgy, but I never really bothered to look further into her backstory. It’s sickening and horrifying to think that the citizens of whittleton creek are obliviously eating human muffins. And what’s even scarier is that people like her actually exist in real life, where on the exterior they seem like lovely and harmless people but deep down they’re secretly a murderous psychopath
Lol I never knew any of this this crazy
Actually, if you take the game as a whole along with all the 'elusive target' scenarios, that neighborhood actually has TWO serial killers, her, and the Elusive Target.
Thing is, the ET is super-obvious if you're paying attention, and it's clear the only reason he's not been caught is because the neighborhood is amazingly vapid and not paying attention.
Serial killers, or the sociopath/psychopath personality type, exists in about 1-5% of the population, which means that if you passed 100 people on the street, statistically you walked by 4 sociopaths and 1 psychopath and never even realized it. Thing is, most people like that don't even realize that's what they are, and most people are completely oblivious to their true nature because they just come off as assholes or bitches; basically, if you've ever had to deal with an awful boss, you were probably dealing with that 1-5%. Just because that's what they are, doesn't necessarily mean they'll kill or even hurt anyone, it just means they truly don't care what other people feel or think, and people are just tools and resources to be exploited, which is why a lot of them end up in leadership/political roles; if you've ever wondered why Politician X could sell out the country and do some heinous illegal shit, that's why.
The scary thing though, is that the ones that are truly sick, truly gone off the reservation, are also very good at emulating baseline personality traits; they study the normal reactions other people have, and they wear it like a mask, such as how Muffin Lady hides her true nature behind a kind old granny disguise. We'll never know how many serial killers are out there, because for every one we catch, there's probably 4 or 5 who were smart enough, careful enough, and thorough enough to completely evade detection.
Those muffins probably are pretty good, though.
3, dont forget demon sacrifice basement with bloody bird-skull axe thats a shortcut to janus's house

@@ctdaniels7049 it definitely doesnt seem like she's baking them out of human bodies, but it does seem like she's purposefully drugging/poisoning the muffins with her own self-devised chemicals in order to test what people become addicted to and what will kill a person, with my references being her talking about basically doing advanced chemistry with her formula, the bottles of pills and drug lab levels of beakers, phials, and distilleries, how that dude literally cannot stop eating the cupcakes in the beginning and also how Janus gets irationally angry at not having one to eat, plus when she talks about how Schmidt wasnt supposed to die (and also how she wished she had his blood records) and you see the bloody handprint on the wall, my guess is that she fed him a muffin-cocktail, it was enough to either make him delirious to a mental break (if theyre psychoactive chemical compounds) or heavily ill (in the case of poisons) and if the latter he probably realized it and threatened her so she killed him in his weakened state. Just my 2 centz tho
I’ve stumbled upon her basement before and was utterly shocked and confused. I assumed it was an Easter Egg, but the fact they took time to develop her backstory is neat. Thanks for showing this!
Janus sounds so happy about a prospect of getting to eat one of those muffins. It's actually debated among fandom if Janus knows Helen's "other nature" and respects her as sort of an equal, because she masterfully leads a double life or is he completly fooled by her. I'm personally 50/50: sure, Janus never stopped being a spy (he profiled Cassidy in a heart beat) but I don't think he'd volunterily eat muffins made out of people.
Or would he?

In Hitman, the deeper you get, the more you slow down to take in your surroundings. I like that.
You can still take a gun and kill everybody
Nice one, Euler! Helen is such an interesting yet terrifying character.
Just add some notes here, there are two male muffin servers who also share the last name "West" in the contract mode, could be her children or relatives.
Anyway, if you haven't already worked on the next video, may I suggest an episode of the legendary assassin "Kashmirian"? He has lots of dialogues and some interesting stories.
You're welcome. That's an interesting find with those other NPCs sharing the surname, West.
They're also implied to be descendents of the statue of West in the park at the far end of the map.

I would call it Mrs.Lovetteor do a joke based on Sweeny Todd.
How cool would it be if it mentioned she had history with Etta Davis AKA the Angle of Death.
Now that would be cool. She was one of my favourite ETs because I thought she had one of the most developed and interesting backstories. In fact, it was doing that ET that encouraged me to begin doing the dialogue videos.
Could you do a video on Maxwell Rutter (Miami map), Hector Delgado or The Kashmirian they all seem to have deeper stories despite being non-targets.
I'm always on the lookout for interesting characters. Mumbai seems to have some of the most interesting back stories. I just wish I had more time, but I'll definitely get around to some more. 👍
Cool I look forward to seeing who you investigate next
@@Dynamic_Editor Of course you're entitled to your view, but do you really think The Angel of Death is the least developed backstory of all the ETs? the fact that they even added the tiny detail of her checking herself out in the mirror is insane to me, i can't believe i missed this when i played hitman.
Coming back with a second opinion, imagine the effect had if Agent 47, as more typically done, ignores Helen and goes about his business, at best snooping her house for poison or Providence intel, and by leaving a dead Janus behind him, depending on how much he did that day, this could throw Helen entirely off-kilter from her grief and make her more of a bonda-fide killer? What sort of effect would that have, eh?

One thing I did not understand is why the hell was the muffin server upstairs inside the Wilson house. One of his co-workers was selling muffins in the stand where the real estate guy was at and two coworkers were at Helen's house. Every time you enter the room in the Wilson house, he'll say "Oh you need this room? don't mind me I'll leave." And then he will go to another room of the Wilson house. He said that like he wasn't supposed to be there but he got caught in the act when 47 enter the room. I feel like he was there to spy on the Wilson couple but there was no dialogue mentioning about him. I never get why the hell was he there instead of selling muffins like his other co-workers.
I'm not sure to be honest. The guy serving muffins is called Herbert West and the one upstairs at the Wilson's is called Jed West. I'm guessing that they must be related to each other and Helen West, but I don't know what he's up to. I'll ask around the Hitman community to see if anyone else knows.

Dispatch her and then use the phone to call the police or optionally, Janus. You can ask him for a personal interview to write down his thoughts on the recent discovery as the police arrest her.
