hey dude, i've been crushing using your strategies in 1/2 and 2/5 cash games at a couple local casinos, i just tighten up and play TAG with the ranges you provided and i'm up about $7200 in the past 30 days just playing part time a few hours a night after work. granted, one session of 2/5 had a whale buying in for 1500 and shoving all in blind for 3 hours and i picked up a few hands against him for a easy $2800 profit, other than that it's mostly just regular play. thanks for the info. i don't play strictly your ranges and widen/narrow the range depending on the players i see in the hand, but basically i follow your strategy of being tight and aggressive.
The downside of playing like this, you can go card dead for a long stretch of time..

HI BlackRain79, I downloade your poker cheat sheet, but it is the same as the ''old one'' if i compare your sheet you are showing in the video and the one i can dowload there is a differents. The old sheet you play J9S and T9S and also KTo, but not in the video? Can you help here..
Love your vids! They've helped a lot! Couple questions; in 9 max, can I/should I widen the range a little on the button or cut off or should I tighten it in early position? Also, you talk about betting a percentage of the pot. In a live game at the casino, should I be keeping track of the pot size or just sort of eyeballing it? It's hard to keep track when the betting happens so fast. Thanks for your help!
In general you want to play tighter in 9 max than 6 max. Especially from the EP. It doesn’t make a major difference widening up on the btn assuming everybody behind you folded. If somebody raised to you on the btn, play a flat& 3 bet strategy. You can find charts for calling button strategy. Hope that helps.
One thing about the raise sizing in point 1. I started off raising to $8 and then pretty quickly moving up to $10. Now, my default open raise sizing is $12 (this for live 1/2 and especially 1/3). I've found this sizing does the trick in terms of getting a decent amount of uncontested folds pre-flop, but when you do get a caller, it's usually not more than 2. Raising to $8 just invites everyone in on the party in my experience.

Quick question - in a $1/2 game - how much money should I have to start the game? (buy-in)
It's typical to have 100BB in a cash game, but alot of people will even go up to 200 or 300BB. People who are serious about winning will also but in with the money limit
Do i just fold if i dont get a good hand and should it be in the preflop or flop

So with the set 6s and pocket As , u over bet the flop and they call and the board hits an As on the turn.
What do you do ? You say do a continuous bet but you'd be betting right into them.

I play on play money games on a 6 player table.
Got roughly 6 billion in bank.
I made most of the money playing 400/800K.
I find I am having to bet around 40 million pre flop just to get one caller (often I still get 2 callers).
I guess these betting tips only work in real money games?
If I go x3bet even x8 bet pre flop (due to all the limpers), i still often get 4-5 callers etc...
Just want to add I also only play 20% top hands.
But wont play anything lower than 66 (as far as pairs). And won't play K9s or Q9s. As still so many callers in play money poker.
you're playing phoney money, actual poker strategies mean nothing when there is nothing on the line. Phoney money is bingo not poker

there is no ante, there is a rake in almost every game unless it is a tourney in later stages. RAke in a $1/2 game is such that it will virtually override any chance you have of making any money since @$5 is taken from each pot that means a full buy-in ($100) is taking at least every 90 mins. You can't beat that rake, either move up in stakes or don't play

I believe in a 9player Pro game like what he’s used to, A10o is dog compared to 8 other people likely have better shi than what u have

92o will win a pot after the flop if 992 comes on the flop but... would you confidently raise 92o preflop? No. Point is if you have a10o are you going to be raising preflop or limping in because if you are limping in... it's pretty much a crap shoot because of other limpers and and if you betting it preflop you are only getting callers that have premium hands. Either way your odds are going way down. Get the point?
That chart is a simplification. If you read his website, he always recommends adjusting your ranges based on the players and your position, and thdre are several articles where he goes in depth on when to play ato. In 9max the difference is that you play the first three seats as if they're all utg, which means you will have a smaller vpip and thats just "computer, show me 15% of playable hands" kind of moment. He does recommend playing ato from button, cutoff and blinds vs a steal attempt
It's rly only a 9max if you open UTG with it. Which u prob shouldn't.
I feel like you're selling J10 short. I would play J10s before I played Q10o.
The reason being QJ and few other broadways will make higher straight draws rather j10

For a beginner, it is better to avoid J10 and play Q10 instead. In case you hit a 10, you have a good kicker. It's probably best they start with a strong range when being new.
J10s is pretty good, but if you suck post flop, it is a bad hand.

How do the 3 first tips apply to one your latest advice to play more hands? Because… i find it difficult also to (only) play this hands. As its quite tight strategy.
On the other hand, NOT being tight has a danger to lose sight (thus CONTROL) over your tactics and actions, which could result in unwanted losses. Even getting knocked out if one gets too brave and bluffing haha.
Also, is this advice especially cor CASH games or does it apply same way to tournaments? Im used to prefer tournaments as i like it much, however it is a BIG time investment and the nicest ones go from midday up through early morning, which pretty much SUCK a lot! haha. (So maybe i should think of doing these only the weekends, or 1 day on and off, 2-3 times a week… so as to keep a normal day/night rhytm…

If you have pocket aces, wouldn't you prefer nine players all-in preflop rather than heads-up all-in?
No because your odds to win thenpot decrease as there are now more hands that can possibly beat your aces. Aces are just a pair essentially and preflop are very good. But once the board is out everything changes
Absolutely not. The chances are very high that one of those 8 opponents will hit something and beat you.
