How to know when a used car has flood damage

Even before Ian pummeled Florida, the sunshine state ranked second in the country when it comes to the number of flood-damaged vehicles on the road. Now that number is expected to surge.
CARFAX estimates Ian soaked at least 350,000 vehicles. Many of these waterlogged sedans and SUVs could be resold in Tampa Bay.
And according to CARFAX spokesperson Emilie Voss, it's all perfectly legal.
