Good video. Oil dipstick checks the floating oil & won't necessarily show water emulsified oil

Great video, drove thru a flooded road Thursday(now Saturday) the truck struggled to start but gave in on the 3/4 crank
It would fire right up after warmed up (Friday& Saturday morning)
But today I went to go get gas and was left stranded at the gas station
The starter doesn’t budge at all could it be a blown fuse? I did find a couple table spoons of water in the intake hose and my air filter does look damaged/ dried

What if there’s white smoke coming from tail pipe after the flood n they took spark plugs out but I don’t think they got all the water out 😢

Okay so hoping this is a good place to ask:
Today I hit a pretty large puddle that was at the bottom of a hill just before an incline. I'd have to say it was maybe a 3-4" deep puddle? Right after, my car started being loud. It doesn't sound "abnormal". There's no extra clanking or anything like that, it just sounds like a normal engine but if you cranked the volume up.
The vehicle isn't running sluggish or chugging or jerking. It shifts just fine and it's not revving at higher
RPMs. I had to drive it about 50 miles home because I had no other option. I noticed that the volume of the sound got significantly quieter the more I drove it. There's no check engine light and it's not overheating at all either.
I feel like maybe I'm just being paranoid and there's nothing major do worry about but I don't know.
Just gonna go to bed and check the oil and transmission dipsticks when I wake up and start it to see if the sound is still present.
    I should mention, it's a 2004 Honda Element manual transmission 4cyl 2.4L and it's a 4 wheel drive.

I had the same with my civic type r, I’ve been a Honda mechanic for 8 years so luckily I sorted it ASAP. My problem was abit larger, as my car cut out and wouldn’t start in the puddle so I had to get it recovered. Long story short mines fine now after 3 oil changes and me quickly being able to remove any water from the intake. Would definitely recommend an oil change

@@cDisturbed. turned out the muffler just separated a little from that manifold when it hit the ground. The car was previously in the Midwest so there was rust. A little derusting and $15 for new bolts, springs and gasket and it's good as new. c:

@@cDisturbed. in the Honda Element, the air intake is right under the hood and about 4' off the ground. Thing could probably go through 3' deep water before anything would be able to get in through the air intake.

I went through a puddle due to flooding in my local area and the cars been jerking and missing revs when driven especially uphill could it dry out by itself do you think?

starting the car after flooding and driving the car throw was will cause the rod to bend? Or if the car has been sitting in water, without being started, the rod shouldn't be bent correct?

    • @kylewellsby2176
      @kylewellsby2176 Před 4 lety +2

If the car was sitting the rod will not bend. It’s because the person who owned it most likely drove it into water

Thanks fucking ETA tropical storm. Major flooding down in south Florida. Went through a good amount of water in a parking lot reaching above the grill and hood. Car stalled jump out pop the hood open air box filter is soaked. Sucked water right in the engine. Towed it home pulled the intake and spark plugs engine wouldn’t turn over by hand. Engine is fucked. 2006 Cadillac SRX
