    Wow such a great video. Really nice shots, editing and voiceover. I knew these things before I took on the job but wish I would have seen your video first.

    Great vid but there is a much better lubricant avialable. Silicone breaks down in direct sunlight and becomes hard then brittle. That particular lubricant is relatively short term. Use a lithium soaped lubricant like RHF1. Krytox is another option. It's long term in direct sunlight and saltwater resistant. Also, cover your paint, lubricants cause clearcoats to break down or bubble.

      Still working really well so far. So well that the sunshade slides halfway back when I punch the gas. I'll try lithium soaped lube next time if this doesn't last. Thank you.

    Great video! I need to replace the sunroof shade, when I bought the car it was missing (a previous owner had an issue with the sunroof drains backing up, which fried the security module and ruined the A pillar headliner and the sunroof shade; the other things have been fixed but I haven't bothered yet for the shade, need to do that. I'll definitely service the sunroof tracks and motor while I'm at it.)

      @@EndlessMoneyPits in the video around 5:45, you mentioned realigning the slider that grabs the sunroof. Mine is incredibly resistant and very difficult to move. How did you do that?

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  Před 4 měsíci

      I could see which way it went off track so I just pulled on it until it popped back into place. It was visibly obvious.

      Thank you, I really appreciate that! I haven't worked with an e90 but it's probably a similar design. You'll figure it out. Take your time and enjoy the zen. Thanks again!

    Check the sunroof drains?

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  Před rokem

      This video is about cleaning the sunroof tracks. I've never had a problem with the drains but I have heard they can become disconnected inside the roof, and they can get clogged with debris. You can check the drains by pouring water into them (there are four drains, one in each corner of the sunroof). Use a jack to tilt the car toward each drain while you pour. Each drain exits near the closest wheel well. If clogged, push lawn trimmer line through to clear it out. If disconnected in the roof, you'll need to pull down at least part of the headliner to reconnect it.

    I'm having an issue w/my moonroof not opening up all the way.. I think there is debris stuck inside but it happened out of the blue..it was working fine one day and the next it didn't..my car is a Camaro (2015) I think this will fix it as well.. thanks for sharing and showing how to take it (the sunroof) out without taking the headliner out too.. wish me luck!!

    • @EndlessMoneyPits
      @EndlessMoneyPits  Před 3 měsíci

      I'm not familiar with how they're designed on other cars so it would be great if you let us know how similar it is. Good luck!
