Hello Ven Nick, thank you for this message. I remind myself that any negative feelings are a consequence of my thoughts, and I use stillness and affirmations whenever I need to shift my mindset. Everything is what it is, neither positive nor negative. I’m learning that it’s only my mindset that labels any given situation good or bad 🙏
Everything you share is helpful but what help me the most regarding feeling lost is the subtle realization that I haven't anywhere specific to be.
Sadhu sadhu sadhu
Thank you venerable Nick
you wise word about not beating myself up are words I need to take in. It is my mind set to knock myself down and then stomp on myself for not being perfect enough, smart enough, fast enough and so on. I never miss a moment to berate myself, I am filled with self loathing and self hate. I have felt this and thought this for over 50 years so It will not be easy habit to break. I will take your words to heart and make the effort to change.
thank you for all of your videos.
Love and may peace prevail
Accepting meaningless helped me to not get lost. By not walking a path to a certain goal there is no point to get lost.
Thank you.
So sad to know how many of us lost in this crowded world 😢. Big hug for you all. ❤
😊😊
Thank you. I needed that hug 🤗
You are such a comfort in a world that can feel so chaotic 🙏🏽
Aww Thank you so much 😊
Thank you, Ven. Nick. Every time I feel lost I come back to your wise advice and never regret it. 🙏
You're so welcome!
I wanted to go to your retreat centre but sadly I couldn’t get approval by the authorities to travel. I will wait till later next year to try again. Like what you have shared. No use beating myself or others. Just let it be and when the time is right, I would be able to go. 🙏🏼
Aww I’m sorry to hear that. Yes please try again and hope you’ll be able to make it next year 😊
Oh that's a shame x
Thanks to Ven Nick & Karen for your kind words of encouragement. 🙏🏼
I gave up drinking alcohol 2 yrs ago on xmas. It completely changed my life for the better. It was difficult and still at times challenging as my routines completely changed but I found my true passion for life again. Thx Venerable Nick! I love your videos, they really help me too and I hope your doing well!
Wow congratulations my friend. That’s great news. Well done and please keep it up 😊
I have stop drinking for 110 days, but this new year i drinking for celebration, bad decision ....start from 0 days again
I want to quit smoking hukkah 😢i need help
golden nuggets - yes!
when we are most bothered is when our attention should be highest - yes!
😊😊
I really needed to hear this, thank you. i have just graduated uni in October and im starting my first job thats actually related to my degree in 2 weeks, but i cant say im as overjoyed as i thought i would be. I started thinking back to my previous life choices and thought maybe i would have had a more secure life path if i didnt choose music, and now im stuck on this unpaved (and somewhat thorny) pathway and i dont know if it will lead to something beautiful or absolutely nothing at all. Thinking about all of this got me really stuck in my own head and made me feel really insecure and lost and honestly hopeless, i even pondered if i would be better off not being here at one point recently, however this video gave me a sense of peace. While this is still a path i must walk alone, it makes my heart feel full to know that while im walking it alone, there are others who are also paving their own path in life facing similar challenges, and hopefully we can all triumph in the end. Thank you again for this video.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💜…. . Live with no regrets, try everything! Say yes to opportunities. Be courageous. Knowing what I don’t want or like is equally as important as finding passions. Nobody ever died from uncomfortable… I try new things at least 3X before I decide if it’s for me. EG : dancing … finally found a style I love after many attempts at classes. Believe in yourself… May joy and contentment follow you ❤️☀️🌸
Oh wonderful my friend. Thank you so much for sharing your experience 😊
This makes me feel like these past years haven’t been wasted. Even if I have been all over the place, I have just been checking things off the list of things I want to try, I won’t have regrets in the future. Thanks Ven. Nick 🙏🏼
Yesss definitely not a waste. Just take the best parts and keep going 😊
I feel like your video was made specifically for me, Venerable Nick. This is where I am in my life currently. I have tried many paths but have always compared my progress to others which discouraged me greatly. Thanks to you, I have learned to pay closer attention to the "breadcrumbs" of each experience instead of writing each experience off as a failure.
Thank you! I am 53 year old, so I can't be a monk { I wish I could} but I still love Zen/Buddhist/Catholic {and meditation, pray and art}. Peace Corp is a another idea. This is my 3th month as a meditation/stroke/exercise person. Talk wise, I have an small speech impediment, but everything else is fine { movement is awesome and writing is good}. Financially, unsure. Thank you for the thoughts. Be safe and take care.😀Thank you again!
You’re welcome my friend 😊
Why can't you be a monk at 53? Is there an age limit ?
Hi Nick I’m retraining as a Psychotherapist and so fascinated with the interface between eastern philosophy and psychology from a western perspective. Also would also say you really have such a lovely aura, I can see how you would have had such a good therapeutic alliance with clients when you practiced as a therapist. Thanks for all you do, your simplicity and the simplicity in the Buddhas teachings is what I and many others need in such a frenetic and choice filled world!
❤
Good evening Ven. And thanks for your great sharing and nice dhamma talk❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🌹
Thank you so much 😊
Google Maps was a great help for me. Never again feel lost.
Good one Jordi! 😂🤣
As a person who fails a lot of times, getting back up might seem senseless but I do it anyway cuz thats the zest of life
Always a soothing time with you Ven. Nick ❤❤❤
I am not lost per sey but feeling my body/human mind pulling away. I am aware of my duty and that my life is a duty to the whole. It feels like I’m not letting myself reach my potentials. I’m craving all my vices more, wanting to give into distractions. I try to make sure not to put too much pressure on myself but I’m struggling to make a true commitment to the eightfold path.
I started taking vitamin D and believe/hope that the seasonal changes are my biggest factor right now.
Sending everyone LOVINGKINDNESS
I know it's that time of year and all, but it was a relief to see this video.
I feel like I've had setback after setback, and I see the people around me getting their lives together. I don't even look at social media anymore so it's purely from good old fashioned real life comparison. lol
I feel like when I hit a wall and don't know what to do I try to do new things. In the hopes that maybe one of them will spark something inside and make it a bit easier to keep going. So I was glad to see that was one of the topics.
I've studied a bit about Buddhism and Stoicism. It amazed me how despite originating from different sides of the Earth that there was still some overlap. In an increasingly modern world it felt reassuring to know some of these concerns are thousands of years old.
One thing I was struggling to wrap my head around is the purpose of suffering that doesn't have a clear purpose. I understand that knowing suffering can increase empathy for others. But at the same time it's like how am I supposed to hold space for them when I'm trying to get the leaks out of my own ship?
I try to remind myself that failure is going to happen eventually. That a lot of people have failed before succeeding. Maybe I'm looking for a sign that I'm on the right track?
Yes this time of the year can be challenging for some. I’m glad that this video was helpful during this time.
permission from Bhante.... Knowing/understanding the suffering is majorly for your liberation. Caring, sympathy for others..... just arise as side effects. When you know pain and if you are becoming enlightened, you automatically develop sympathy for others. This quality will not need any space from your mind. You will not need to water that plant, it will grow by itself
Yes!! Trying everything is so important! I spent my whole life thinking a certain career was for me because it involves everything I’m passionate about. But the reality of the work, especially since I was doing it independently, was far more intense and energy draining than I ever imagined. Now I’m assessing either doing it as a hobby, which removes the pressures that I didn’t like, and the other portion maybe teaching again, but differently. I prefer flow so I’m changing careers into a field I was experimenting with when the other career was picking up. Never thought I would let go of what I worked towards and in my whole adult life! But it’s in trying new activities too that I’ve learned to integrate those too. Very important lesson!
Sadhu ka 🙏
You’re such a treasure. It’s not creepy that you like teaching about suffering. We’re needed at this time of turmoil. Thank you from bottom of my heart 🙏🙏🙏
I never feel like i am alone. I feel my internal light is always there with me. I also have my pets who never judge and show kindness to me as i do to them.
Proverbs 18:1 says: “Whoever isolates himself pursues his own selfish desires; he rejects all practical wisdom. The presence of God is daily prayers in your every day life. Psalm 91. Contribute to society and the economy. Matthew 20 and be a good steward. Luke 16:1-9. Avoid occults and denominations Isaiah 44:5-7
Sadhu sadhu sadhu
Thank you
🙏
You’re welcome ☺️
Just what I needed right now.
Wonderful my friend 😊
Thank you Nick. This Advice is the most valuable Christmas gift I’ve received this year. There are big challenges in front of me and I’m scared and don’t want to fail. You just took all the pressure off my shoulders and delivered me a perfect guide.❤
Aww I’m glad it’s helpful. I’m glad it took off some pressure 😊

Thank you for your beautiful, loving, wise and helpful advice. I've felt so lost for such a long time.. and life puts this video along my path to help me find the way... Thank you so much for your love, dedication, kindness and wisdom. ✨🌈
You’re welcome! I’m glad it’s helpful 😊
Great advice,thank you! 🙏
I needed to be reminded. Thank you Nick. ❤
Great advice
So proud of you and also everything you say is so helpful to so many including myself
I'm 70, with one failing kidney working only 23%. I have no motivation, I isolation, my computer is my entertainment ... no I Don't Do FB or twiter...and I have no birth family or friends. I do have a son who does his own thing. I'm just tired and overwhelmed and don't know where to start to Do what I know I Should Do to help myself.
Finding a community or an activity within a community can be helpful my friend.
Do not isolate yourself. Horrible for you. Hugs
Good evening Ven.
🙏🙏🙏

Teacher. 27/12.
Back to basic. I can run now. But I need to be mindful. Be careful. I am not slow. I am going for discovery. It is hard to find self. World see a value to what is successful what is desirable. Is it for me?
I do not know.
I do know I want peace. I want o know me. I want to know if my emotional support is not here with me, I will still be joyful and inner radiance. I am my own happiness.
So more to learn about self. Be patience my heart ❤️
Transference of merit to Teacher. Thank you for Teacher kind words. Thank you Teacher for encouragement. Thank you Teacher for the reminder. Sadhu sadhu sadhu.

Thank you. I am so appreciative of you sharing this. I am there now. I have my education completed and I have accomplished and tried many things. I am re evaluating my whole self without becoming over whelmed. I keep my mental health First and developing a solid spiritual growth, which is a process.
