Roy's heartbreakingly beautiful vocal on this one never fails to bring a tear to my eye.

This is the only track with Roy on lead vocals and it is very special. As good as they all are, you can't imagine any of the other guys doing it justice. As far as I remember, George Harrison had "Handle with Care" already written and ready to go. But the other nine tracks were written and performed one day at a time. The entire album took less than two weeks to finish. It is an extraordinary project and I would also have loved to be a fly on the wall to hear and observe every amazing second of it.
yes, the album was one song per day. Post production happened outside that timeframe, but bravo, they showed you don't need days in a a studio to produce one song.
So glad he was part of this success before he passed
Roy shines on this song and you can hear Jeff lynne's production style all over this track!
I'm loving all your eactions to Roy Orbison songs , your joy is spreading, what an incredible voice and everyone seemed to love him. Lovely man who had so much heartache in his life. The boys in The Traveling Wilburys adored him.
You should watch a video about how the band was formed and album was made. You are correct that none had ego on the project and just enjoyed hanging out and having fun.
GREAT reaction you two!! Thanks for doing this one. My mom LOVED Roy Orbison - so when this came out, she was in heaven (and as of 2018, she literally is). I think of her any time I hear a Roy song! RIP Roy, RIP mom! Such a wonderful, powerful voice!

Such a fantastic supergroup, with George Harrison, Jeff Lynn, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison. This is a great song with Roy Orbison as the main vocalist. I had their CDs and listened to them so much, other favs are 'Inside Out', 'If You Belonged to Me' and 'You Took My Breath Away'. I agree, Roy Orbison's voice is so good and so recognisable, thanks so much for your reaction. 😊😊

The band weren't keen on the original version Jeff and Roy came up with and were going to scrap it. Jeff wiped almost everything but the vocals and worked late into the night re-writing the song around Roy's vocal. Then they loved it. When you see Tom Petty talk about it, he is in awe of Jeff for being able to do that.

One thing overlooked about them is, they are all characters! I'm sure they had tons of fun when together!

If you want to tear up,, watch the video for "End Of The Line", sadly made after Roy passed. They paid homage to him during his vocal part with a framed photo in a chair... gets me every time.

The song is great, loved it when it first came out.
However, [I think] this version of the song is a "fan edit" and in my humble opinion, kind of spoils the originality of the original song.

As ever a beautiful review by you both, but please if you can give a listen to the original edit of this superb song, this version quite frankly is totally ruined by someone who has mucked about with it, and resulted in it sounding like the stylus got stuck.....shame, great review nonetheless.
