What is the difference between dynatrace monitoring when the same can be monitored in AWS Cloud watch and Xray...why would I choose Dynatrace in this...? If the metrics would be same.

So the agents are supported on servers/desktops/VMs/compute instances only? What about network devices/appliances? Does it do any kind of snmp discovery/scanning?

We can also use extensions to to add additional value to Dynatrace that the OA doesn't provide OOTB. There are many extensions already created for popular network devices/appliances. You can search specific device/appliances that you're interested in here: www.dynatrace.com/support/help/extend-dynatrace/extensions/
If the device or technology isn't listed, it may be possible for our Services Extensions team to create an extension for it.
