Some youtuber would place it in the middle or at the end and sometimes, it makes me not watch the whole video. It's like forcing me to watch the whole video just so I could watch the thumbnail used. Because he puts it in the begginig, it made me want to watch the whole video out of respect.

That's actually the case most of the time. These stories of the cops jumping into Teslas all excited after a crash to see the footage is absolutely garbage. Maybe a handful of times, but it's absolutely just BS most of the time. I don't know why people lie about it, but I find it strange. But then everyone clapped so it was all good.

Got hit by a lady in a car who started laughing at me as i went onto her hood. She wasn't laughing so much when the cops gave her a little visit. I knew the officer who took the case, and he told me about how she started bawling once they told her why they were there.

1:28 it is this slow poke in the left lane which cause him to “swerve” once and over take in the middle lane.
It is that driver which should have been in the middle lane. If you are not over taking, return to the slow lane.
1:33 as we can now see, the road is clear. Congestion was caused basically by that one car blocking the fast lane.
At least the Tesla driver knew how to push it without possibly killing innocent drivers like Dodge fan boys with fragile egos.

I can say for sure that the timing of the passing cars and the force of the impact from the charger and Tesla scene, they were both over 110 mph.

I work with the DAs office, and there was a guy that was committing taco truck robberies. One year later, 6-7 detectives on the case, 15 or 20 photographs at different locations, Close to 100 witnesses, and they were able to set up an area to lure him in and then they caught him. That’s what it took. And that was on a class 1 crime, not a vandalism call.

Just because it has an air ram doesn’t mean it has a blower, it could easily have a high ram intake manifold with a 4 barrel. God knows the story on that Chevelle tho, could be making 500hp could be making 800hp. It majorly spun at the start and also didn’t really even seem to get out of second gear before that car got in the way. On another day and a prepped track it might have been pretty close

On the crash in LA, the speed is about 5 of the dashed lines on the roadway every second. Their spacing is 40 feet each (federal standard), so speed is about 200 feet per second or about 130 miles per hour.

I hate body shops that pull the "the entire thing has to be sanded and painted" crap. No it doesn't. The area you are working on and a little around it does. I've had a smashed in tail light repaired, straightened, and primed with a water proof primer/coat. It's held up better with 0 rust over the years than the painted areas. If they know what they are doing, they know how to blend and make it stick. I've had plenty of touch up jobs that never came off and held up incredibly well over many years.
One of the body shop guys in my town is a magician he's so good at his job. Completely straightens the metal and his paint job never fails.

That, and the lights went out suddenly. The rear window of the Tesla is already a bit dark, so it would be difficult to see what's going on in the shadows.

A few people are really shitty. We don't get videos of the millions who just go about their day without hurting anyone or picking fights. We only get the exciting encounters triggered by the criminals and morons. So we get a negatively skewed view of humanity.

Yeah, that was drama queen exaggeration. I stepped back and watched it again thinking I must have missed something but no, it was just a single lane change and they even used their blinker, which is highly unusual these days. The dummy in that incident was the driver who overreacted, swerved, and hit the car in the left lane.

I keep my head on a swivel when I'm driving, and treat every car like it's coming after me. I usually beat them to the punch and cut them off before it happens to me, then use my break and accelerator to keep them buffered. It's not only safe being an offensive driver, but it's pretty exhilarating too if you ask me. 👍

Seriously, does anyone else think the Tesla stopped for the stop sign at 11:30? It rolled through the stop sign. An EV, especially, should know the difference between a complete stop and a rolling stop! When you stop, you’ll always know because the brakes seize the discs at the last moment. Rolling through, however slowly, is a moving violation.
Yeah, I know 99.9% of drivers do this (roll through), but I’m just amazed that a Tesla wouldn’t comply with the signage. The only explanation has to be that the Tesla was in manual mode. The danger, of course, is that in a crash, the Tesla might be 50% at fault.

I drive a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta that is a manual transmission. I catch so much hell shifting my car. As soon as some see my car rise then squat again from me just simply changing gears and accelerating, someone wants to race. The shit is annoying.

Dude these crashes give me anxiety attacks. Obviously it could be hard for anybody to watch but I snapped my femur in 2 place in an accident along with my tibia and fibula all on left leg. So those memories come right back seeing some of these. That’s why whenever there’s a close call that I see even when walking I wince.

Determining the speed IS possible. There is a set distance between things like lamp posts on the side of the road so if you use a stop watch and time the length of time it takes for the next one to pass.
speed = distance/time
So the distance between lamp posts is typically 2.5 - 3x the height of the post. The avg height is 30 feet so at 3x that's 90 feet between posts. Speed = 90/time
Using the time index, it takes ~2 seconds to pass between 2 light posts in the video so:
Speed = 90/2
45 Mph.
This of course makes certain assumptions about the actual height of the light posts and distance between them based on the types of light posts used on highways in the US and Civil engineering standards for set distance between light posts which varies from state to state but you get the idea.
11:35 That Tesla driver (Preston) ran the stop sign. The car did NOT come to a complete stop, either via the vehicle coming to a complete stationary stop or by waiting at the stop sign for 3 seconds (duration time varies by state). Had that SUV hit the Tesla, it would have been Tesla driver's fault from the camera's point of view. There's no evidence on the video that the SUV ran any stop sign or did anything wrong.
