5:50 "merging vehicle don´t have the right of way", sure. But when your ego is so big, that you cant let another one merge into you lane who was indicating for so long and has so little difference in speed, your just an a**hole of the road.

In this case I agree, that the trucker signaled and had plenty of space and time to merge, I would have happily let him go. On a separate case I HATE drivers who cut me off, screw them, and get to the back of the line.

@@marcoalejandro1407 100% the car drivers fault. Trucker put turn signal on then the 1D10T got in the Truckers blind spot. That car driver should be arrested.

5:40 Right of way or not. Let him in. Large vehicles have a hard enough time navigating the streets without dirtbags that can't leave on time to get to where they are going safely.
The submitter sounds like a bafoon, it’s a heavy load vehicle and he’s half into the turn. Normal human logic should have helped this guy but no use. Truck should have sued him for endangering them both.
They shouldn't be in the fast lane to begin with.

@@JoshTheFrosch07 Most truck drivers stay in the middle lane, so that they have an "out" just in case. More than likely, the truck driver needed to move to the fast or passing lane for a good reason, which was not shown in the video.

6:00 pretty sure a court could easily see that the truck was already in the lane safely, then the cammer decided to try and force himself to control the lane. A reckless driver commiting a foolish maneuver will loose.
The Model Y's driver is stupid. If he was in an accident and the police saw this video, he would get a ticket and pay for damages.
The trucker also might have seen a dangerous situation ahead that the rear driver's could not see.
Truckers rarley use left lane on a hill. The cammer (submitter) should have been more patient
still the tesla was in the right so it would be imposible for a court case to insue and the truck driver be the person to win

There's a video somewhere where at a crossing, three (I think) completely independent accidents happen pretty much simultaneously, all in the view of the camera. Talk about escalating quickly!
5:54 While lane switchers don't have right of way it is very disorienting to have vehicles behind suddenly speed up due to a turn signal. I'd say the Tesla driver had a pretty big death wish here even if he was following the rules of the road.
I don’t think he sped up. He was already in the process of overtaking the semi. In the last few years I’ve run into (figuratively) a lot of truck drivers who don’t bother to look or will actually stare you down in the side-view while they squeeze you over, making drivers hit the brakes and fall in behind them. They’ve done it to me and I’ve seen it happen to quite a few others. Had one that kept changing lanes when I did, and brake checking me as we approached a construction zone. He apparently didn’t want anyone to get in front of him before the right lane was blocked off. Like he’s going to be really fast once the lanes open back up.

Converting those into miles per hour:
61.3 mph for 4 seconds.
then incidentally when the truck driver would be looking in his mirror:
54.5 mph for 5 seconds.
then right as the approach:
exactly 60 mph for 4 seconds.
At the beginning there's less than one line ahead so about 40 feet. On the one hand this is incredibly valid argument for right of way. The semi should not have switched lanes that close if the tesla was going faster. But if we assume the semi driver saw the tesla when it was going 80ft/s its quite likely this was the speed the semi was going and so would have been more distance than the recommended following distance by a factor of 25%. It'd also give the impression that the tesla driver was slowing down assuming the semi driver saw it in the seconds prior.
From 5:50 to 5:55, the period when the follow distance is closed by the tesla it is going a speed of 60 mph exactly so the semi driver has 5 seconds to react. That honestly should have been enough time. So you can either assume the semi was bullying or the driver was making an assumption about the tesla drivers behavior that was valid. So this evidence alone proves right of way was violated but my point still stands that this could have been very confusing.
Since the lane you're in is your right of way there's no point in keeping a following distance in the other lane. I always close that gap right up the back edge of the semi so where I can still see the back turn signal. I wait a second and check it then pass. That's never once failed me. I can always bail to the other lane the shoulder or slow down if the semi tries to change lanes. (which has never happened). What has happened is that moving trucks didn't use their turn signal. I never follow a moving truck.

Yea, that was totally unnecessary by the Tesla driver. You've got to keep in mind that these trucks have massive Blind spots as well.

5:43 Speeding up when a semi truck is trying to merge in front of you is suicide. A motorcyclist in my hometown got stuck underneath a merging semi while trying to beat it, and the semi truck driver unknowingly dragged him for over a mile, not knowing that he had hit somebody. Needless to say, he's dead

The tesla was in the trucks blind spot most likely, learned that before you even get a license so tesla is at fault
@@anthonykrempp9260 Typically we're taught at least here in Ontario if the car ahead of you (a clear car length ahead) has their signal on you are supposed to let them merge in.
Tesla boy was clearly fully behind the truck and decided to rush in anyways. It's also just a bad self-preservation move regardless of whomever is technically in the right.

At 8:51 technically that u-turn is legal in some intersections in Arizona. Not that this clip was in AZ just a neat little FYI :]
Granted it was a bit of gratuitous Honda hate, and I’m no Arizonian, but I’d be surprised if a U turn on red into oncoming cross traffic is legal. In line with one way cross traffic would be another matter. But a U turn literally at any time seems like it should be universally illegal.
