Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiast. I contact each person who send me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up what happened after what we see on their video. Voice over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. @@georgiecota1991 Prolly in the minority here but i would take a GT-T over a GTR all day, but im a drifter so rwd is better for that, awd drifting works too but its just different, never tried it outside a sim tho, rwd i did do irl.
The reason for the odd colors on Tesla cameras is due to them not having the IR filter you would normally find on cameras.
The reason for not having an IR filter is that it vastly improves night vision and makes AI self-drive safer at night.
That may be part of the reason, but I think the main reason is the choice of color filter array. Most digital camera sensors can’t see color directly, so a color filter array is put in front. By far the most common is the RGBG filter. That’s red green blue green. With 3 primary colors, it’s possible to extrapolate full color for each pixel using the Bayer demosaicing algorithm. But the color filter blocks light going to every pixel, reducing sensitivity in low light. That’s why automotive cameras often use some clear pixels in their color filter array, in much the same way human eyes use a mix of color sensitive cones and general light sensitive rods.
These days all Teslas use RCCB: red clear clear blue. With no green, it’s not possible to accurately determine the full color. But with half the pixels getting all colors of light, night vision is superior.
Older Model S cars used RCCC, so they had even worse color vision. The backup camera is always RGBG because it is intended for the human driver, not Autopilot/FSD.

Sure you can spend money and get 4k HDR dash cams that are definitely better. but i have seen so many dash cams that are 1080P but the resolution looks shit compared to Tesla cams.

Electric vehicles take up less than 1% of the population of cars. So with the amount of tesla accidents we see on this channel. Imagine the amount of non tesla related accidents that happen 🤯

Cars are responsible for 3.5 million injuries a year in the USA alone and 35,000+ deaths.

The Croatian truck company works for an Austrian company and the accident happened in Germany. It's pretty easy to sue an Austrian company from Germany and since Croatia is part of the European Union you can sue there as well. Croatia is not Russia. They even have better EVs than the US ... aka Rimac. ;-)

The guy put a nail under a tire because he thought the Tesla cracked the road? A Tesla model 3 is about 3700 Lbs. My Chevy 3500 van's curb weight is about 3 tons. Almost 5 tons (9600 Lbs) loaded to max capacity. So it's nothing side of a big truck. Cement truck, dump truck... etc (often 35-40 tons). Not a very bright guy. Glad they caught him. Maybe he's responsible for other vandalism around there.
If I was him the next thing he would get told is that a bat to their head will make an even bigger crack.

The clip with the sign reminds me of a time I nearly got killed/injured. A few years ago I went to get my eyes checked with my mother. We had just checked in and sat down. We heard a loud thump outside and heard a car alarm go off. Turns out the ENTIRE FRONT SIGN decided to fall off. The sign was so big the front door was blocked and we had to leave through the back. I still think about it everyday and laugh. Me and my mother jumped when we heard it
Hi! Today I was in a very small accident my family's Tesla model 3 performance. I was so excited to sand in the clip of the accident! But when I went to look at the footage it was not there. The recording started about 10-20 seconds after the crash. I love watching your videos and they always make my day a bit better!

Correction on clip 16. I am a viewer in Albuquerque and clip 16 states that the incident happened in Albuquerque. If you look at the road signs, there are “Grand” and “Bolton” which are streets that actually do not exist in New Mexico. They are in fact in Amarillo, Texas. Just thought I’d tell you as it was something I noticed.

@@pandadude180 You can always go to Google Earth and look up a road sign, especially when there are two or more streets named on interstate roads. One road name could be in any city/state, but 2 are very improbable. And 3 are certainly unique.

It is messed up but the fix on this would normally be free. Not sure where you live. Now if it's sidewall damage, then you are screwed for sure. Perhaps it's different with EV tires and I don't know about it yet, 2 screws in my last vehicles tires were fixed quickly and for free.

Seeing lots of cart demon videos, I kinda glad if the supermarket I go to have a rough parking surface. Sure, it makes pushing carts to one's car much more difficult, but the flip side is that carts are practically unable to roll on their own.

@6:29 this is something ive done before. If you have all wheel drive its best not to stop if you hit the ditch just punch it , within reason, and come out or youll get stuck.
I had visions of not making it to our destination - ending up stuck in a foot of snow and grass in that ditch. My cheeks were puckered hoping there weren't tires, rocks, or car parts hidden under that snow!
I agree any decent all wheel drive system walks out of that with momentum and zero not real 4x4 vehicles make it once stopped. The driver’s report was ridiculously dramatic

oh believe me, the other drivers had physical injuries. They just didn't know it yet. I got rear ended like that, thought I was fine, and then three days later the swelling kicked in and I was in the ER
I think the GTR is actually a GTT with a body kit, a rear wheel drive single turbo version of the GTR. Notice the lack of "GTR" on its grill and a "S" logo on its hood similar to what you'd see on a Silvia.

Please tell JP (5:34) that it's the white Excelsior New York Novelty Metal License Plate Tag and I believe the first letter is an X or a K, and the last four numbers are either 3582 or 3502.
The last 4 appear to be 3587 in my eyes, I see KDX-3587. If it was a 0, it wouldn’t look that skinny on the plate, I believe. At least from the NY plates I’ve seen.

Wonder why they couldn't why the police can't run a search for that year/make/model/color Infiniti and see what tags turn up? Pretty sure if it's a close match and they find the car matching the description with some fresh damage on it, they can proceed further with an investigation.

Watching WBTC and hearing the costs to repair Teslas its a bit jarring
Because insurance is involved they like to charge more
A fair amount of any repair bill is labor. It can be more than half at times. There are very few places authorized to repair them relative to how many are on the road. Even Tesla service centers won’t touch many things that aren’t cosmetic. So the mechanics are charging a premium for their time. And honestly you can’t blame them for it.
I'm not sure most new cars are built with repairs in mind really! It's more expensive for the manufacturer as it usually results in more parts. :)
@@VoxelLoop Cars have to be repairable. Laws aside, no one will want to buy your products if you have to throw away a whole car over something relatively minor.
What is happening right now though all cars brands are facing parts shortages, along with a shortage of whole cars. So all available parts are at a premium. It isn’t just Tesla. I’ve been waiting for three months for my wiper fluid tank to come in at the Chevy dealership. Thankfully it isn’t a part that effects driving.
Tesla does have a two fold problem though with the lack of authorized body shops along with the parts shortage.

7:35 looks like the submitter purposefully intended on undertaking the holden (illegal) to get in the right turn lane ahead of it (so not a case of the holden "going on the attack") then panicked when the holden undertook him and stopped at the red light. Both idiots IMHO.
Illegally overtaking a vehicle isn’t equivalent to brake checking a car to almost a complete stop. The way some of you people justify things is beyond idiotic.

Why do Tesla cams have a slight brownish tinge? I watch a lot of CZcams cam channels (yours is the best, of course), and its obvious when it's a Tesla cam because of the odd tint...

I almost had a #Hondabump few days ago when I was pulling off from my school's parking lot and this guy on a Honda Civics backed into someone's Ford F-250, narrowly missing my Toyota RAV4. But someone else said he crashed into a car next to him earlier that morning. I don't have any videos but it sounds crazy.

What’s sad is that even with all these driving aids, teslas and non teslas still have so many crashes. Instead of helping, seems it makes people more negligent. Doesn’t help that a lot of people don’t have a license or are uninsured as well. All in all, accidents happen, but a lot of these are so avoidable.
We have stickers on our plates showing current insurance. I'm incredulous as to what goes on down south in the USA. WE think drivers from our neighbour province, Alberta, are bad drivers. No, you ain't seen nuthin until you binge watch this US idiocy, and I have half a million Los Angeles freeway miles under my belt, albeit decades ago. Not today.
I live very close to where #12 happened, and that exit is always a place of chaos. Non-stop late exits or re-entries.
