Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiast. I contact each person who send me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up what happened after what we see on their video. Voice over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

#11 - the white truck was racing the red light - you can see the light turn green after the collision.
The guy in the dark sedan seeing the light turn yellow probably thought that the truck was going to yield.
Hard to say where blame will end up. Most likely the sedna will get the fault for failing to yield right of way while turning, since the truck was still driving thru a yellow light.
The more I thought about this - the harder to say who was at fault.
Of course if the truck didn't speed up to beat the light then we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Yup. The guy turning left is always at fault in these situations.
Truck is at fault. Car was already in intersection to turn. Light turned red just before impact. Truck could not clear intersection before it turned red.
@@johnsnyder1253 In the US the car is at fault 100% of the time since it is legal to enter the intersection on yellow.
But I don't know what the laws in British Columbia are.
In BC turning left on a non dedicated green light is considered turning against a traffic signal according to ICBC. Its legal but if you get hit in the turn you become at fault. The car was waiting in the intersection correctly, given the traffic lights the truck was probably trying to beat the stale green or a yellow. They will probably both be found at fault and will have to use thier deductibles to fix their vehicles. If ICBC writes one of the cars off in this case they aren't going to get a pay out.
White truck is at fault. The black car was already occupying the intersection so the truck should have waited for it to clear before proceeding.
Always park near the highest point in a parking lot or behind a cart return area is one of the many lessons I learned from WB Teslacam
It's sad how many of these clear fault cases before the footage are considered hard to decipher, meaning insurance and criminal justice has always been a crapshoot.
the last vid was so wholesome and did put a smile on my face
It would be wholesome if they didn’t keep touching the car. that is not ok
PEOPLE! Quit leaving items in plain view in your Tesla. Put the rear seats down so they can see nothing in the trunk and store anything you leave in the car, in the Frunk or lower space of the trunk.
the police need to be doing more sting operations, the courts need to hand down sharper sentences
What do you mean put the rear seats down… the whole trunk is exposed then ☠️
@@cassinihuygens I think that statement is assuming there is nothing in the trunk. Basically exposing it intentionally to tell would be thieves that the vehicle is not worth the time or risk of breaking in.
But you're right... if you DO have a bunch of shit in your trunk, this is probably not the best plan.
or use sunshade for cars through each window so that they wont be able to see the insides

#19 - the Honda was driving too fast but the Mercedes should have stopped when they saw a vehicle pulling thru - cars in traffic have the right of way over parked cars.

#4: hopefully he got all his film back intact. It’s expensive! Depending on how much was in there, and if any was destroyed, he could have a serious case if he files a report.
i assume he got the film back. but he has zero case since he can’t provide concrete evidence of the thief’s identity. even having the license plate number wouldn’t be considered concrete evidence because you can’t prove that the occupants are the owner of the vehicle
there's no reason to report any theft in San Francisco. even if they catch the guy, charges will be dropped and he'll walk free within days.
If someone is hanging from the seat belt the pressure can prevent the latch from opening.

I love my Tesla and realize it is probably the SAFEST car on the road....bar none. However, the repairs for this car are ASTRONOMICAL!!!! Plus there are not a whole lot of shops doing this so the time takes forever!! You can't have it all I guess
its not the safest car on the road, the safest vehicle on the road are semi trucks, your telsa would be destroyed in an accident compared to a semi. next vehicle under semis are pickups, then suvs, then cars.

Intersection collision 8:53 - 9:23 Both are at fault.
The one in the intersection preparing to turn left: Failing to yield to on coming traffic.
The other for failing to slow and prepare to stop for yellow light.
Nope left turn and then the guy behind him are at fault. Just because the light is yellow means it's time to prepare to stop, not necessarily a doable task for all vehicles that already are full speed with the right of way. The left turners should be waiting before the cross walk, both lefties should get tickets here. And the one that collided with the truck should have his ins pay for the truckers damages.
@@shmoliver the light was clearly red when the truck went through the light that's why it turned green for the person in the Tesla so soon afterwards. Yes they're both at fault but I'd say the truck drivers more at fault for literally going through a red light.
It honestly depends on the laws there. In some places like where I live the law states that if the light is yellow and you have the ability to stop you're supposed to stop since yellow lights allow for the intersection to be cleared before the other light turns green.
Judging by the footage the light was already yellow for a while and he had plenty of time to stop in fact the light turned red just a second after he entered the intersection meaning that if the law is how it is here the white truck is 100% at fault.
after looking closely i agree with this. the turning lanes has yellows as the video started and both where rolling through. I would say its 75% truck 25% car maybe even 80-20 respectively given that truck must have had a red. nut its hart to tell as different lights are cycled and timed differently
@@shmoliver The light had been yellow for a long time and the light had already turned RED before the truck would have entered the center of the intersection, in fact the light was already RED when contact was made.
All party's were crowding the yellow light. I don't know about where they are, but here the left turners should not have even been in the center of the intersection. It helps to prevent the scenario that we see here.
All party's are at fault.
0:56 that escaladed quickly lol
No bad pun
9:14 - Hard to say. If the light is green in both directions - clearly the left turning car is at fault for "failure to yield" to oncoming traffic. If the light was red for the truck and a green arrow for the car. Then the truck failed to stop for a red light.
I agree, it looks like the truck ran a red and the turning vehicle has the right to clear the intersection. The curve ball would be what does the state statute say about sitting in an intersection waiting to turn. Some allow it, some do not. As a liability adjuster, this would be a fun/infuriating claim.
I would also suggest the left turning car to be at fault. The light for the truck had just switched to red a 1 or 2 seconds before the truck was on the intersection, so he was still ok to cross without endangering the cars behind him with a full stop last second.
For the turning car it would have been no problem to wait those 1 or 2 seconds longer as every other car was seeing him already standing in the middle of the intersection and wouldn’t have sped up to hit him at green.
Black car is at fault... Black car has to yield to truck which is moving in the straight Lane going through and at the rate in which it was traveling before it had to slam on the brakes before impact the truck would have clearly made it through the light before it went red if he would have been halfway through the intersection which is the law as long as you're halfway through the intersection it's not running a red light. Black car is 100% at fault! Also the black car is sitting in the middle of the intersection therefore it's already in the safe zone. Once the car went in front of the truck and didn't hit the gas enough in order to avoid the collision it becomes at fault. The truck had the right of way and would have had plenty of time to get more than halfway through the intersection before the light would have went red so even though this is a very close one the truck is 100% in the right of way and the car is not.
@@brewcrewbill Well this exact scenario happened to me in Tempe Arizona. Waiting at the intersection to turn left. Light turns red. I proceed to clear the intersection and was hit by a car running the red light. I thought, no problem, it is clear who was at fault. Not so. I was informed by the responding officer that the left turn is the lowest priority move you can make at an intersection. Basically you can only make a left turn if nothing can go wrong when you do it. So if something does go wrong, that was not true and therefore you are at fault.
I've lived in Tampa FL my whole life and this is normal for Tampa drivers and I'm glad I'm not the only person over here that watches teslacam 1:20
9:20 I saw a similar accident just a couple months ago. The argument can be made that BOTH parties are at fault. The sedan has to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic so they should have stopped for the truck. The truck decided not to stop for the yellow light so there’s failure to obey traffic signals
Agreed , I was fixing to comment the same thing.
This may vary by city/state/province/country but a yellow light does not (or may not) require you to stop.
@@dfinma right, states have different laws and such but the general consensus is that yellow means stop because cross traffic lights are about to turn green
Also correct, Yellow light does not mean stop , but what does it mean ..... ?

#2.) Disregard #1 because I am in a hurry , everyone just hope for the best.

Mercedes should have parked by backing in, so when you leave you clearly have a perfect sight and you wouldn't get into accident like this. This is such a great example why always back into parking space. As for the saying "Honda was driving too fast". When you back out of your drive way onto a street where cars and going 25-35mph, you don't say they need to drive slow, it's you that needs to always watch.
You have rear views.
#19 The mercedes was not at fault, the merc was already reversing before the honda entered the lot. Also the honda was speeding.
Reversing vehicle is always at fault for a collision in a parking lot. Argument is you should be aware of your movement at all times.
@@tomsixsix I personally think due to the speed of the honda, The mercedes driver wasn't expecting the honda to turn into the parking lot at all.
Really, shoutout to Gary for stopping after white truck flips over stating that not many people would stop to render aid, yet the video shows about half a dozen people trying to help!!! This narrator is a complete fking genius.
Awesome Hikers, good fun. As Donut0389 said... "people seeing a Tesla and having a good time." and that was definitely a Merc Bump btw.
It's a complete mystery... here the cops have a line of cars set up in the toll plaza. They can see the truck coming. They have long rifles.
And not a single one takes any shots at the huge silver 'shoot me' square on the front of the truck!
No radiator = No go far!
1:20 - The truck had not 'lost control' - if you pay attention to the left lane you'll see a vehicle changing lanes while the two vehicles were whipping by on the right. The red car managed to make the gap before the merging vehicle from the left lane came into the center lane. The white pickup nailed that vehicle, pitted itself, and went for a tumble. The only reason the truck 'hadn't hit any other vehicles' was the vehicle from the left lane took off.
3:22 8:25 10:00 - New phrase: Toyota Tap
9:00 - Left turn is at fault. We can see (right side of frame) that the truck had a green cycling to yellow. It was still yellow when the collision occurred which means that through traffic (the truck) still had the right of way. A left turning vehicle that has assumed the intersection cannot turn until *ALL* through traffic has come to a complete stop and it is safe to clear the intersection.
12:30 - Reversing vehicle is technically at fault, but the minivan was moving *WAY TOO FAST* for a parking lot. And since it's in a parking lot the police aren't expected to cite anyone - that's for the insurance to decide. In cases like these the assessments need to change: Reversing vehicles, as they are typically blind (prior to the adoption of back up cameras) until half way into the lane, should be given preference in parking lots.
That's where I'd shoot for. 4 or 5 pistol or shotgun rounds in the radiator. She'll start pissing coolant fast and you might get lucky and hit something vital. Like the diesel fuel injector pump. It won't go too far.
Cops just can't go around shooting things!
This is not the Wild West!

@@colinpovey2904 Sure thing.

@@realulli You DO know that a crowd of people equals a pile of bodies when a semi ends up crashing into the accident scene.

@@patmcbride9853 in Germany, you have to have at least training in first aid to get your license, so you should have at least an idea of what you can do to help.
Of course, people not helping but recording while help is needed should be prosecuted (law in Germany says it's a crime, I'm just not sure of the penalties).
Also, ask any EMT, first responder, fireman, etc. about their opinion on having lots of people rendering aid. I'm pretty sure they will tell you, having more people stop, especially just after the accident, is a bonus. And you can start parallelizing tasks. E.g. one calls 911.Another one or two grab breakdown triangles, flashers, whatever signalling devices to increase security at the crash site, another couple to try and get the victims out of the car(s). My guess is that the light for the white truck was yellow long before he got to the intersection and should have made an attempt to stop. The black car was already engaged in the intersection and would have had time to clear the intersection as required. The white car behind that black car is also in the wrong here since he also likely had a yellow light and definitely would have had to run the red to turn.

45k That is a lot of damage!
45k plus rental, four months rental, lets just say average cost of $100 per day
120ish days in four months so $12k just in rental costs
plus it was in Australia, so parts would be almost double the normal cost for shipping and importing fees
so $33k inflated cost, realistically is more around $10-20k, which yes is still high
but think of how many sensors and electronics were most likely damaged, plus a special repair not just an ordinary shop can fix a tesla
12:59 look at that Civic, beautiful
Unless I'm missing the joke, that do be an Elantra
That was an awesome buck!
9:21 Even though I'm only thirteen, I aspire to be a Deputy for my local Sheriff's Office, I believe that the black Toyota Corolla is at fault. The reason being is because in the United States, if you are turning left and both driver's have a green light, you have to yield to oncoming traffic. ( By the way, I love watching all of your videos keep up the good work!! ) :)
Well, the light wasn't green, it was Yellow. So the Toyota is not at fault. Since it was yellow and she was already in the intersection she had priority over a vehicle not in the intersection. Oncoming traffic is supposed to stop when the light turn yellow so other car can clear the intersection.
9:19 luckly in Europe we have a rule for that, traffic going strait always goes first.
exept if the car going straight has a red light ;)
Bro that first clip is crazy. I drive there everyday.
The first one is pure gta lol 😂😂
I think it was 100% Honda‘s fault because with how fast she was going you wouldn’t be able to see her in time
8:56 Easy. The driver of the black sedan is at fault. #1 You should never make a blind left turn. #2 Left turn is always at fault.
Usually for yellow light runners and those turning left who wrongly assume traffic will stop for them, police and insurance usually side with the driver going straight as the person turning left is suppose to yield to traffic, signage usually backs this up too “yield on left turn” or whatever, but there have been a few instances where I saw an insurance company split it, but that may be due to the clips being from no fault states or whatever.
When that truck crashed it was great to see many people stop and help where they cold. That is refreshing since so much rude behavior gets so much attention in media.
great to see but extremely unsafe, people shoulda just moved on
9:13 - If the truck didn't run a red, it's the cars fault.
12:50 - The van was moving fast but the Merc should have continued to look both ways backing out.
I think both of them didn’t run a red light
Whoever is making a left turn is at fault. The only exception is if they have a green arrow. They were supposed to enter the intersection and wait until it was safe to proceed. Obviously, they didn't wait until it was safe to proceed.
@@robertthomas5906 Dude the light was yellow about to turn red for the left turn driver and the truck plowed through the intersection during a yellow. Truck is 100% at fault. watch the clip again.
@@InB4Ethan I guess it depends on the laws of that state. For example, here in Illinois, its legal to enter the intersection if the light is still yellow.
@@InB4Ethan I don't need to look at the clip again. As I said, it doesn't matter. You have a duty to yield to oncoming traffic unless you have a green arrow. If you go to court as the guy making a left turn, no green arrow, expect to lose your case. I've seen cases like this in court. I've heard the judge say - if you're making a left turn, no green arrow, you're always at fault. He won't want to hear any "yea, buts." Such as yea, but the light was... fill in the blank. You were hit, it's your fault for not yielding.
Alpha_Stream video: the truck is at fault because the light had already turned red while the car was already out in the intersection so it and the car behind it had the right of way.
Azmain video: it looks like a splatball. It shouldn't have done any damage to the tesla other than a little bit of sticky residue
Look at the traffic light on the vertical pole. The light changes from yellow to red AFTER you can see the front bumper of the truck.
The light wouldn't have turned red the truck had to slow down because the car pulled out in front of him while the car was already sitting safely in the safe zone of the middle of the intersection...
These insurance quotes are nuts
I love how many people pulled over to stand there, watch and do nothing
12:23 it was the mercedes driver's fault for not looking both sides before backing up, even if the driver was speeding
The Mercedes driver had already started pulling out before the Honda was in the parking lot so its the Honda drivers fault even if they were speeding or not
It was the Honda whose at fault! They already started reversing and Honda is going way to fast in a parking lot
@@TheOfficialTX The honda was probably expecting the Mercedes to stop and sped so the Mercedes wont have to wait until he got there and I don't see the Mercedes's brake lights turn on until they made contact, its the mercedes's job to wait for the honda to cross
@@PowAccidents it was the mercedes's job to wait for the honda to cross
@@odukos9388 when they already have started reversing no they do not, the Honda has to wait if the reverse action has started
2:43 ah too bad nothing happened to them, would’ve taught them not to put everyone’s lives in danger. Words can’t describe how much I hate these people and what they deserve for the reckless driving
your videos so good

Yikes. Oakland is near me. Must've been terrifying 😬
When you back your car out of a parking lot, you're the one who has to make sure the road is clear.
The last one was very cute!!!
That guy on Number #18 threw a paper/newspaper ball
Barrel demon my eye! That was Donkey Kong!
The Cart demon leaves no mercy for Tesla's 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I recognize the first clip because I have to go that way many times a week!
8:12, the music matches perfectly with the crash.
Hey Wham Bahm, for the guy with the stolen christmas gifts, you should have thrown a grinch joke in there. Grinch sometimes wheres regular clothes 😆
I immediately tensed up at the start of that last video upon seeing all those youths. Thankfully they were just silly kids and not the destructive kind.
#2 Did anyone else notice the second pickup flying up on the left right before the accident, and blow right on past!
he was probs tryna keep up 🤣
I love your video
12:18 that might be a sticky ball. it is soft and sticky filled with some gel inside the ball so it has pretty high impact to the car but soft enough to not damage the car.
That is definitely a hondabump
The thing that the guy threw at the Tesla to make the light lasers go off was a sticky ball or one of those sticky monster basically you can throw it to the wall and watch it climb down the wall or roll down the wall
