Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiast. I contact each person who send me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up what happened after what we see on their video. Voice over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

Are you satisfied?
Yes
Ofc
Yup, yee haw
Yes I am

4:30 that box truck driver is a great driver. Saved both drivers. Reacted to what was behind AND in front of them at the same time. If it wasn’t for their proactive move to go off the road it would’ve been a much different video.
the problem is the box driver ended in the ditch with damage, and the asshole driving the pickup probably was too drunk to notice.
I had some stupid kid in a ford
Fiesta do this. I had to stand on the brakes to keep him from getting killed. He then tailgated the car in front of me. He got an ass cheering from the both of us. Don’t know if it did any good 🤷♂️.
@@scottmcshannon6821 this is still pretty much the best-case scenario
4:37 Amazing work from the truck driver
yes
4:37 Props to the box truck paying attention..
Absolutely, also their willingness to veer over the kerb and prevent a possible head on collision.
These repair costs are really high, holy dam. For minor accidents you get 5k cost.
Tesla components are expensive as fuck as there are almost no 3rd party parts. Tesla has a monopoly on those repairs and will ask monopoly prices
@@OmegaGamer04 this is so not true. Tesla has repeatedly said that they don’t want to be the only one able to repair the Tesla and if you look for Tesla jobs right now there is a TON of open slots for tech trainees to be able to repair the vehicle. They made ALL their patents open sourced and they released so much information on how to service their vehicles for the future so that people can open their own repair shops eventually.
These aren’t “monopoly prices” most of the cost has to do with transporting the vehicle and having it serviced because most of the service centers are backed up with not enough material to go around.
Prices didn’t just rise for you, prices have been getting more expensive for Tesla to get their own parts manufactured.
Another thing you are forgetting is the fact that insurance companies pay most of the cost of the damage. For the most part. Insurance companies are crooks as well as the repair guys.
I’m not saying they aren’t price gouging at all. But considering all these factors, I wouldn’t call them “monopoly pricing” especially when Tesla is going out of their way to make sure they aren’t the only ones that can service their own vehicles.
@@SerenityScratch tesla literally brought the dlc scheme from videogames to the car market. Can't get any anti-consumer than that.
Also good luck getting 3rd party parts for a tesla. Those cannot be installed as the computer will not recognise non tesla parts.
chelsea, you’re supposed to brake then honk, not honk then accelerate
Havent watched all the video but from other videos I can assume that sometimes where the tesla is hit it could have been prevented if the tesla driver didnt devend his lane/position so hard, is it dificult to break a little bit so you dont crash and wait 1 month to have yout car back
braking doesnt always work, accelerating, especially in a tesla, will often get you out of trouble faster. she didnt accelerate enough.
@@scottmcshannon6821 ??? As you can see when it changes camera, there was 1 car behind her far away, breaking and honking or using the high beams would’ve avoided the accident
If I was in that situation I would've only accelerated and never honked. Gotta love goofballs out here who honk instead of avoiding the crash. God I hope cars with no horns become standard
@@blitzn00dle50 Horns are good for all sorts of situations. I found mine helpful in Korea when elementary students would run out into the road between parked cars. At first I assumed they got a bad test score and were trying to commit suicide, but they let me know that they were not actually trying to die. The horn helped wake them up while I also stopped.
All these videos really tell me is that a decent amount of city drivers have brains so smooth that you can use them airstrips.
Um... You still need some roughness for the runway... So, by your metric, the airstrip would somewhat neglected...
@@N0616JCProductions r/wooosh
Every time I enter any level of congested traffic, I expect people to drive exactly like that. I see/experience near-misses at least three times a week. Can't trust anyone but yourself on the road.
Use them as a skating rink*
@@stagger9660 that’s not a wooosh, he was just adding on to the joke. So, r/wooosh to you?
That truck driver that saw the pickup is a hero.
#5. 3:39 Chelsea was a dingbat and should have clearly seen the blinker and not pulled alongside the car.
3:46 so many accidents could be avoided if the drivers who notice something bad would just react properly. Chelsea could've just slowed down behind the other car and nothing bad would have happened, but instead she chose to just drive on because she knew it wouldn't be her fault. Just because it is someone else's fault don't act like that, if you see something like this just fogive the other driver for their driving error and move on, maybe someday you'll be happy if someone does the same for you!
Haven't you noticed that more and more drivers just force their way with no regard for traffic rules? This only works because others actually let them.
@@HenryLoenwind I‘m sorry, I‘m swiss and I totally disregarded this porblem. In switzerland, there are also some people doing this but I guess a lot less than in other countries. You‘re absolutely right.
Your initial comment is right. Chelsea is 50% at fault for choosing to accelerate and pull in beside the car indicating it was going to change lanes. When the other car initially put on their indicator there was actually plenty of space for it, but Chelsea was the one that chose to remove that space.
@@iamezza Honestly, looking at that footage it's hard to feel bad for Chelsea. If I was the insurance company I'd argue Chelsea is at fault, at the very least as much as the other driver.
The narration says "she hit the breaks" when the video clearly shows the exact opposite. She hit the accelerator and decided to jam herself beside the other car to try and block the lane change. Given the amount of space there was between them when the other car first indicated, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the other driver had checked their mirror and blindspot, saw the lane was clear and Chelsea was a good enough distance behind them and then started the lane change. They just didn't notice Chelsea floor it to try and prevent the lane change.
@@HenryLoenwind you're right, but personally, I don't think it's worth trying to punish other people for it, especially in an instance where your own car will be damaged. Unless you absolutely do not care about the down time you will experience when you send your vehicle into the shop, dealing with paperwork/talking to insurance, getting a rental, there is no reason to get into an accident.
Man, that Renault driver looked super threatening in his STAR WARS underwear.🙄😂
I call bullshit on the first one. Something happened before this that's not being shown. The Tesla already had his window down and was waving at the guy before any of the events occurred. Not excusing the Renault guy's behavior, but this clearly isn't the full sequence of events. For all we know the Tesla brake checked the guy or cut him off, inciting the aggression.
Probably a race but Tesla probably did something he was a shamed of because can not see the Reno being faster
This channel has a lot of BS stories. Narrator has a great imagination
Reckon the Tesla probably booted it as he was overtaking. See a bit of that on this channel
@@blazeclarke I don't watch much can you link me please
Yeah I find it highly improbable that teh Renault driver would be at that level of anger for no reason.
Never offer to share your dashcam footage with both drivers when it's obvious who's fault it was. Immediately after the crash there is only 1 copy of your dashcam footage, so you need to be careful someone doesn't try to take advantage of that fact. Discreetly get the email address for the driver who's NOT at fault so you can send them a link to it. If the person who's at fault finds out there's evidence against them you could find yourself in a bad situation. They may try to steal the footage, or your dash cam, or threaten you unless you delete it. etc..
nahhh this is exaggeration to the extreme...complete nonsense
@@abdullahbabar5529 Why? Do you deny that there is a risk of that occurring? I'm not saying it will happen very often, but zero risk is always better than some risk. When people are involved in an accident they are amped-up on adrenaline and, depending on their personality, some people are looking for a way to get out of the situation. Especially if someone is hurt and it's their fault. They may try to convince everyone at the scene that the other person was at fault. Your dash cam evidence goes against what they want everyone to believe. There is a small chance this ends in violence against the person with the dash cam. People do strange things when facing serious jail time. The 'fight or flight' response kicks in. But even with a small accident where no one is hurt some people are just always angry and looking for someone to take it out on.
@@Psi105 that’s less likely than if an army of goons invaded my backyard and used it for a cookout. Most people in an accident are not “facing serious jail time.”
People who have dashcam evidence of a crime serious enough are under the Witness Protection Program, where they have the right to remain anonymous and 24-hour guard.
Speaking from experience, this is very good advice.
@@abdullahbabar5529 Exaggeration would be if the person stated this is what happens all of the time. Speaking from experience, it is something that CAN happen, so it's very good advice IMO.
"What's wrong with some people?!"
Here's my professional experience of test driving thousands of HID and LED headlight vehicles.
When manufactures went to these headlights many people aren't as familiar with the light characteristics and focal point of these particular headlights. In one year we had over 100 incidents of the public chasing down test cars on the road. They would say the exact samething, 'Why are you flashing your highbeams? You flashed me!'
The case is when an HID or LED headlight car goes over a bump or a rise in the road. The focal point of the headlight rises and passes through the back window of a vehicle in front, giving the appearance of a highbeam flash by the vehicle following.
This has caused unintentional situations and road rage.
Many manufacturers are continuing to work on adaptive headlight technology to mitigate this problem.
I would say in some cases the road rage you see is caused by this very same senerio.
Imagine u wrote all of this and before u sent the comment and ur device laged and all ur comment disappeared
Really this is a thing. This happens with regular lights? Never thought people were flashing me when that happens
That happens with all headlights.
*It's big brian time*
I’ve NEVER been chased or attacked for hid and led lights (10+ years)
Manufacturers, especially toyota and honda cannot aim lights correctly at the factory.
Furthermore, nissan, toyota, hyundai, kia and honda drivers like to drive with their highbeams on
3:45 Chelsea could have made that situation much better by just letting the car in....
4:31 that truck driver saved some lives. He totally saw it coming and decided to move over
Yep, definitely something happened before the clip. People don't just rage like that for no reason!!
yes Benjamin you need to tell us what's happening before, not just that moment you think ppl don't know
I drove professionally for 35 years, In the first one.. two guys with really nice cars, two guys with really BIG egos, something happened way before the video started. France has a lot more social support than the US, so what happened before the video started is Ben probably ran the Renault off the road and now he caught up to him. If this was the US, the video would start with Ben getting his head blown off in broad daylight. I've seen it happen. People just don't get out of a car, walk up to and, yell at (or shoot at)anonymous people for no reason. Or, we are seeing Ben getting caught by his girlfriend's husband as he drove away from the house.
3:51 "she honked and flashed her lights..." I'm pretty sure that using her brakes would've been far more effective
Yk if she honked,by going in that speed she could have rear ended the car in front of her. It would cause to change the whole bumper cover and will be more costly
I don't get that either, the instant response is to tell the other person / driver that they are in the wrong, rather than reacting and stopping a collision.
Ok, great, you "won".... They hit you. now you have to deal with insurance, wait for repairs, and you now have an expensive car with accident history and repairs that are never as good or as durable as factory assembly.
she honked and hit the brakes. she didnt flash her lights ;)
It's actually possible to brake and honk and flash at the same time
She’s called Chelsea and she drives a Model 3. I don’t think they’d be able to analyse the situation and react suitably without take half a week
0:06 - There are always 2 sides to a story. I want to see footage from 2 mins before, i bet the Tesla did something to annoy the boy racer in the Megane RS (perhaps overtook him). Still, doesn't mean the Megane boy racer had any excuse to do that.
should have taken his drivers door off when you left.
4:45 he didnt push the truck guy off, the trucker was good person enough to move to save the pick ups ass, cuz he could have stayed perfectly there
0:10 It's a little hard to believe this is the first interaction between these two cars. Maybe it is but seems a little suspicious.
5:36 the beep boop boop is amazing 10/10
12:20 "over there" Hey, I am from Sweden!
@2:30 It's a recall. The Hyundai Tucson catches on fire as well.
these videos have so much action (car crashes) (fires )(road rage) (vandalizement) everything is so awesome
Thanks for picking up my 3 stories so quickly, I’m glad my levels of stress during my trip to Miami turned into good entertainment for the channel.
at least you were only a bystander!
Typical day in Miami. Nothing new 😂
Man, that Renault driver in the first clip looked super threatening in his STAR WARS underwear.😂
Hey @Wham Baam Teslacam I love your videos I’m always satisfied when you post and when I finish your videos my uncle also loves your videos he loves the honda bumps and every time we see one on the road we try to avoid the bumps!❤️
4:40 Box truck driver has very impressive situational skills.
@@marknelson3830 yes
I used to drive a box truck and I made it a point to constantly pay attention. I liked to see that.
You're in control of a large vehicle that can seriously hurt people, and you want to avoid all accidents, even if they aren't your fault. Last thing you want to do is SLAM the brakes on or make a sudden evasive maneuver if it can be avoided.
Depending upon the cargo you can also be killed or badly hurt if you crash one of those trucks, because the cargo smashes right through the box body and into you.
So this driver was certainly scanning his mirrors like a good "large vehicle" driver... even on a single lane road like that... You never know what some dick will do.
The box truck driver is my spirit animal when I'm on the road. lmao. I might be laughing but it is true.
As usual with this channel, the first clip wasnt unprovoked. Why does this channel always act like people just randomly get enraged when they see a Tesla???
Guarantee something happened before that. Doesnt make punching the car ok, but lets not pretend that Tesla owners are all just angels minding their own business out there.
There's definitely more to this story indeed.
the Beginning of This Video Reminds me of a Beavis & ButtHead Episode Called' Plate Frisbee 😁
Thanks for the great video
Crockett and Tubbs were surely waiting for that plane to land. Thumbs up for the Black Sabbath intro.
The metal band?
This whole time I thought it was a single guy running this channel but you have a whole team viewing and writing the scripts.
That first guy looked like such a tough macho man, with his Star Wars underpants. 🤣
My birthday today 🎁🎊 I just want to say that I like your video 👍
Your videos convinced me to get a Tesla.
Which one would you recommend ?
Not a fan of the autopilot (Although I would consider the autoparking) and I really don't care about aesthetic or colors, driving distances or what's not, I just want to have something functional and more importantly, the dashcam. Dashcams are really important.
Also no need to be extra fancy with dashboards and everything, I just really want something I can use. Not a huge driving person, I just drive where I need to go when I need to go.
Go on the website and build the least expensive one possible (based on your comment).
@@spencershipley4349 Tbh my mother told me a good point which was to wait until I was 25 years old. I do have the money for it right now, but if I grabbed it, insurance would be so high they would be higher than my current monthly payroll (With all the other stuff necessary). So I'll wait until I'm 25 years old before grabbing one :)
3:11 even if the pickup is at fault, its kind of scary to see how little attention people pay to the road, the toyota should easily have seen and stopped before hitting the truck
Number ten was a tesla behaving badly moment😂
8:02 Isnt it a little bit funny that The city the accident was named Schertz, Schertz -> Scherz stands for Joke in german LMAO
I’ve had a road rage attack on my car. A woman flipped off the car behind her at a McDonald’s, and I pulled up behind that car she flipped off. The car was identical to mine in every way. The woman pulled out, drove around the building, then tried to hit me, the wrong car. I have previous commercial driving experience, and I always space my car enough behind others plus pay attention in my mirrors. I saw her, executed an evade out of line. I drove away through back streets, and she found me and my kids later on the streets, and I had to evade her two times more, I then got behind her and took her license plate and reported her to the police. Road rage can result in harassing the wrong person.
Caan you make an instructional video of how to access, record and send videos roadside from a tesla?
Could you do a video where it’s all just heartwarming content?
5:35 the other Tesla hits Minh /Tesla bump
@1:00 sigh... it's always an altima... I've had so many run-ins with altimas... seriously wtf
4:45 that box truck SAW THEM and moved over so aa much worse day was avoided....
The hit and run driver @1:14 looks like busta Rimes..lol🤣
1:11 This guy is definetly under the influance. xD
thats a ranger not a ute at 6:47
Tesla has got to do something about the wait times for repairs.
Amen... one of the factors that keeps me out of the Tesla market - can't afford to be without vehicle for that long, and not particularly keen to be in a rental for an extended period (see: Hertz incompetence getting people arrested for "stolen" rental cars).
0:54 - that’s why if this happens, you don’t just pull over and call the police. You follow until your are sure you have a make, model and license plate. Clear the person that hit you has no intention of stopping
On the first clip I was like Benjamin Franklin!!
Just a correction on the so called "Ute tax" in New Zealand. There is no such thing and the claim is incorrect. What is happening is that there is a substantial subsidy on EV's which is not available on ICE. Certain interested parties have been quick to point out that currently there are no EV utes or what you may know as trucks on the New Zealand market and therefore Ute buyers have no access to the subsidy and are forced to pay the full price for ICE based utes. Point scoring politicians have wrongly labeled it a tax .
(0:10) It is hard to believe the story in the first clip. Something seems to have happened prior to the video ... just a theory.
I personally think that the film was cut somewhere in half, there aren't any logical reasons for the driver of Renault to cut him and punch the window like that.
Agreed
11:04 there is an audi R8 for any of you audi fans who missed it. :)
Finally a real car guy in the comments 😂
Wow this a good video make sure to make more keep it up!
That's going to be an inside joke now. Chevy 300 love it.
Wasn't that video a few days/a week ago?
Autopilot can’t make turns on city streets. Also I’m not sure basic autopilot always reacts. Mine has reacted some times but not most. It’s always good at giving me warnings when it senses an imminent crash though.
Unless it has FSD beta?
@@alphonsusdeodatus5522 yeah I’m pretty sure having the FSD package over the standard autopilot still doesn’t navigate autonomously through city streets. That’s only currently available with the beta. I could a wrong though. Have been wrong a lot of times.
I am depressed because I'm a Honda owner & I've never bumped anybody ;(
3:48 Chelsea hit the brakes? really? she hit the accelerator clearly. Expensive cars come with expensive egos
4:38 he didnt 'force' the box truck to veer off, the driver of the box truck probably saved lives that day by making room for the idiotic pickup
Thanks Whambaam for making me winner of the joke competation
I have a corgi puppy so I like number 12 😁 also I agree with his corgi’s response of the other driver
This channel is hilarious!
I'm disappointed the guy didn't name his Tesla "Marshmallow" after getting "toasted".
I hope they turn that burn mark into a decal for bumblebee. It would look pretty good if done well.
Big fan!!!!!!
Been a while since I watched this but now I'm back baby
#6 great situational awareness on the box truck’s part! That could’ve ended very differently!
I was thinking the same thing, they totally saved the day! Hopefully it didn't damage the truck.
@@onesadtech I would have seen if the box truck stopped and offered them the video in case Enterprise noticed any damage. Great observation skills from that driver. :)
@2:20 (fire) Was that a Chet Volt? Lol
That was my first thought too but they don't sell Bolts in Europe and it doesn't look quite like a Bolt. A malfunctioning block heater (as was described) could explain it.
A well deserved winner, that turkey joke was funny
Ok at least u guys recognize ur mistakes that Chevy thing had me laughing 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I'm pretty sure Benjamin in the first video is not showing us the full story.... the Renault guy might have overheated but I'm pretty sure nobody punches your window out of nowhere
Too many drivers on the road lacking even the most basic skills to have a driver's license. Anyone, for example, who changes lanes without looking should be revoked for life. But I doubt legislators have the will to do what is necessary to have safe roads.
they give a license to anyone. why? because their needs to be a supply of organs for hospitals
I had this discussion recently under other videos on YT since I recently found out what it takes to get a license in the U.S. and I was shocked! While others felt so sorry for me in my country (Germany) we have to pay around 2000€ to LEARN HOW TO SAVELY DRIVE A CAR and not just pay a fee and a test a dog would pass.
Tbh I would never feel save U.S. streets.
USA doesn't care about safety, why should they? They don't pay for health-care
Lets heat our sits to watch the video
E
Do the tesla cams have astigmatism? The night videos look like what I see at night 😂
9:44 this is unfortunately such an easy mistake to make . You just following traffic thinking drivers in other direction of traffic will drive defensively but no .. you get tboned. I’ve seen the same thing happen when a line of cars are doing left turns… people just follow the line of left turners and forget to look at opposing traffic , or when there’s slow moving traffic at a traffic light that is about to turn red and people end up following traffic and run the light bc they’re too distracted by the congestion ahead
People seem to lose their brains when they are in a car.
And on the clip with Abraham, I was like Abraham Lincoln!!!
I’m happy that there’s so many Tesla’s in Florida, Tesla’s are awesome, there was one in my neighborhood so I figured I would wave to the bumper cam when it parked. Maybe I will get on wham bam...
Loved the intro... got an idea for one. =] 😀
i do too!👍🏻
It's definitely crazy driving in Miami. I've never seen such crazy drivers as i have in Miami on the interstate. Many were speeding and weaving between cars...and traffic was already going fast enough. I kept a close watch of my rearview mirror. I vowed to never drive through Miami again. Instead, i bypass it and go the old hwy when going to the keys. In my lifetime I've driven in plenty of heavy traffic but i never felt so unsafe as i did then. My nerves were shot by the time i got outside the city.
Very good driving of the box truck driver!
One thing is clear from all those telsacam videos. Repair costs and delays for Tesla's are insane. I don't know if this is a US problem or Tesla related, but in my country, Audi/BMW/etc ... that can still be repaired after a major accident are back on the road within max 2-3 weeks maximum and for smaller damages where the car could still be used safely before the repairs, you plan an appointment and only miss the car a few days.
I understand in the early years, some of the high-end Audis like A8 made of Aluminium were also rather slow to repair here too but that's no longer the case. Does the problem come from the use of Aluminium for the Tesla's body or do Tesla owners have to use only Telsa approved repair centers that cannot follow the demand?
Teslas can be repaired only by Tesla.
I wish i had a tesla
People caught Road raging should have their license suspended for a year.
-Stop and get out of your car in the middle of the road= SUSPENDED
-Brake Checking = SUSPENDED
-Rolling Coal = SUSPENDED
-Punching/Kicking/throwing stuff at another car= SUSPENDED
Dutch have a traffic law called article 5 which is dangerous driving behaviour. This comes with a fine (or jail for 6 months) decided by a district attorney, can suspend your license and require you to follow training to correct your driving behaviour. That fine is about 8700 euro (almost 10k in dollar) if they go for the maximum.
I love watching Teslas off the road
Yes
I am satisfied
I ❤️ ur vids
I subbed
Mark Sherman carefully slowed ...
.. and stayed behind that car driving on the wrong side of the road. Instead of using that Tesla torque to speed past him he used his brain to stay behind him where he could be in control of how to react.
Good on you.
There's no evidence Chelsea hit the brakes at all. Even though this is not her fault, the accident is completely avoidable. A car in front of you signaled and wanted to merge, slow down and keep a very close eye on them. Save yourself the repair hassle.
Sorry but at 3:50 Chelsea was not paying attention to the car in the right turn signal indication and accelerated into the other car. Don’t know about texting but the blinking light is visible for several seconds. Looks like Chelsea was not attentive.
I like the intro, very satisfied!
I always love your videos! Man keep up the big work
