Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiast. I contact each person who send me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up what happened after what we see on their video. Voice over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

Hey
Here before premiere
I’ve been in a few accidents. The first words out of my mouth every time have been “are you okay” to the other driver. No insults, no accusations, just making sure no one is hurt. It’s so hard to push past your ego in the heat of the moment, but making sure no one is hurt is always priority number one. Litigation comes second to safety. Lt. Butterfingers is the real MVP
If someone hits me I'm throwing hands idgaf
@@ightboomer who asked
@@ightboomer how would you feel if you crashed into someone and they threw hands at you
You’re better than me. In the two accidents I was apart of I was able to see that they were clearly conscious and breathing so I started both conversation by calling them a fucking idiot. I guess it’s tough love cause right after that I ask them if they’re alright, haha
@@-Nevaehh- i don’t think the order is important. You seem like you size the situation up, rather than blindly complain while someone needs help. It’s pretty obvious when someone has more concern for their belongings than another persons well-being.
Um... the GMC driver's insurance owes Cary Sapp the replacement cost of her Tesla, not the original price she paid. There is a LOT of legal precedent for this.
Yep, it's time to file a personal lawsuit to cover the difference. And, if that means that insurance company is paying for a rental that whole time, and legal fees for the lawyer that you need to get to sue them to get what they actually owe....
It is NOT that the GMC could not stop, it is that they DID NOT stop! Probably staring at phone. Sue them!
Unfortunately they are not smart enough to fig that out on thier own. Probably got a 10yr loan on the car just to be part of the kewl kids! Live and learn!
Lol, what BS. Why would 3rd parties be obligated to pay for Tesla's scam, instead of covering the actual damages?
Raising the prices post-fact is insurance fraud.
You have the purchase, at a certain moment.
From that moment the car loses value.
At the moment a car is totaled, purchase minus age is the payout.
Anything above that is simply not compensation of the damage.
If you disagree, please give me your adres so I can buy a $ 300 old banger, make sure you crash into me and then claim the wreck is suddenly worth $ 500000
@@fredpuntdroad8701 So, when the initial inspection says that the car took $8,000 damage, and then the body shop comes in and says it's actually $13,000 damage "Raising the prices post-fact is insurance fraud."
the one with Lt. Butterfingers melted my heart and it just goes to show that being nice even when you’re at fault can go a really long way
Same
Because of videos like this, before I go at any traffic light that has turned green, I check both ways for people running the light and continue to look around as I go through the intersection.
That's called Defensive Driving. Good on you. Do it always
We shouldn't have to do that, but unfortunately we do.
Yes... you're supposed to do that. Green doesn't mean go. Green means go when it is clear, because there are people out there who doesn't know red means stop.
@@jamesschwartz8069 Never ever assume everyone will follow the rules of the road.
Try that here in the DMV (DC, Maryland & Virginia) they will beep at you or get out of their car & ask you what is your issue. I only know because I do it all the time because they are dumbasses here.
As far as Penelope’s roll coal goes, I wanna say she wasn’t a victim of rolling coal. The smoke only happened every other second maybe less n wasn’t constant like other roll coals. Then the fact that the exhaust is out the hood in the middle just makes it less specific.
Agreed, especially since the truck was spewing smoke when it was still behind her. Either something is broken or the driver is really stupid. Each smoke particle is something he paid for that he doesn't get anything out of except a stupid cloud.
That carbon might have been burned if the engine was adjusted properly - just look at the Audi Diesels (yes, part of Volkswagen, Diesel scandal, yadda yadda yadda - the engines in that scandal are *MUCH* cleaner than that POS). The larger displacement engines (e.g. 3.0 tdi) do have an SCR cat and weren't affected by the scandal at all. They're smaller but still more powerful than the engine in the truck in the video...
It has vertical stacks. That is the engine exhaust, because they have removed the muffler and the particulate collection system they smoke every time the go pedal is pressed.
All most the dumbest thing done to diesel trucks.
As someone who lives in very rural eastern oregon and seeing true rolling coal frequently, that isn’t it. I was 3 cars behind a diesel. The car behind him made him mad at some point apparently b/c he rolled coal all over it before even leaving the light and on from there. By the time I got up to where the truck was it was still super black smoke and you couldn’t see through it. I’ve also seen it done to several protestors & it is definitely a constant plume of thick black smoke until it covers everyone. This was, like stated above, more of modifications that smoke every time the accelerator is pressed.
8:03 Insurance companies should drop people who ignore them when trying to contact them over an accident they caused
The perfect example of why you shouldn't gun it when a trafic light turns green? No! It's the perfect example why you shouldn't run a red light!
why you shouldn't be on the road in non-street legal vehicles. wheel chair was gonna get hit sooner rather than later.
Defensive driving is still important
Agreed
@@Mr_Cool You are of course right. It's just that the comment made me feel like he said the problem came from people "punching it" on a green light.
@@FlorestanTrement absolutely, but many accidents can be avoided by taking it easy at intersections.
#1 - That is a prime example of why I always give a look to the left and right when the traffic signal turns green.
Cary Sapp should contact a lawyer. If his car was rather new, it shouldn't be his problem that the prices have increased.
Well, the insurance is obligated to pay the damages. Damages are the purchase cost minus the car's age.
Why would a 3rd party be liable to pay up for Tesla's scam? Raising prices post-fact is fraud.
Imagine the can of worms that otherwise opens... I lay in wait outside your house in my $ 300 old banger of a car, then stage an accident and once you hit it: Surprise! The car now costs $ 500000! Pay up!
Naah, that never works.
@@fredpuntdroad8701 the insurance is obligated to pay for a comparable car. If you have a practically new car, and prices just went up for them, getting a comparable car would be more expensive than what you payed. Same thing if you have a 500 dollar shitbox, you can claim its worth 50k all you want, there's gonna be dozens upon dozens of 500 shitboxes that are comparable.
@@boneless8473
Exactly, which is original purchase price, minus the value lost due to age.
And not 'the original price, ignore the age and pay extra for Tesla's upselling scam'.
Tesla claims that their 500 box is suddenly worth 50K if it gets totaled next year. And that's going to leave Tesla owners out of pocket except in a few rare instances in the US where insurers were forced to pay for the scam.
(which then increases premiums for everybody, so a bad outcome for everybody)
The Yukon in video three has a temporary paper plate. They are now required in CA after years of people driving around without any license plate at all. When I moved to the state, the craziest thing I learned was cars could legally drive around for up to 90 days (fuzzy memories, will need to be fact checked) without a license plate until their permanent plates arrive. Many folks would "forget" to mount them and go years with them. One of the biggest offenders was Steve Jobs. He would swap out his company leased car just before he was required to mount plates.
Oh, I also believe the Yukon driver's story is a crock of crap.
LOL, Ya think? I'm sure it's me. I could just about hear them say - Oh ****, I gotta get out of here before the Police arrive.
This is so dumb, in my state the dealers have plates in stock and give one to you immediately when you buy a car. Everything is transferred instantly over the internet. If you were required to wait for your plate to drive the car, then holding plates at the state dmv makes sense to prevent people without insurance from being on the road. But if you can print out a fake paper plate, then this makes it no different than my state. It’s utterly pointless to have that much control over the plates.
@@robertthomas5906
Around here police have begun summoning most/all drivers who flee the scene for a blood test for drugs and alcohol.
They fail to turn up, automatically get charged with DUI. And failing to perform the test is a confession of guilt so....
@@fredpuntdroad8701 If it was a traffic stop I understand that's a felony if you drive away.

He acted very calmly and since the other driver was crying he give him a hug
Not allways violence is the language for Accidents
Just tell to the others "are you ok?" And if they are act calmly and don't make the situation worse.
Also Norway, so not $100s in hospital cost for his neck and usually the insurance covers as long as the car isn't totalled...
It helps on the tempers (less) flaring :)
@@OveToranger but thats going on ur record and ull pay for it with increased insurance rates, then theres something to be mad about or cry
Considering he had just scammed a guy into admitting fault for an accident that he himself had caused, it was the least he could do.
@@MrPaxio It depends, if you caused it - yes. You loose "bonus" and may have to pay parts of the sum or all if you were grossly impaired or similar. If you were not the cause, you don't loose anything but pay your deductible and the rest comes from insurance
@@mO0nkeh
If I understood you correctly you claim Lt Butterfingers caused the accident at 6:08 and onwards ?
That's wrong. He comes from the right (ie. Leaf-driver from left) and unless signage or lights shows otherwise the Leaf-driver had a duty to yield.
You might have other rules where you live, but in Norway you yield for traffic from the right unless signage/lights says otherwise...
2:14 That’s a temporary license plate. The reason why it was covering up the license plate is because the new driver bought the car a few days after it was first sold.
arent you suppose to take the old plates off tho? and front plate doesnt matter youre suppose to display it in the back? have you even owned a car before?
There’s no way that Yukon was driving 50mph. More like 30
@@ccstreifel literally what i was thinking they are so dramatic on this channel🤣 still love the videos
That Yukon was total sketch. Drug dealers love those big SUVs and driving with fake temp tags.
I agree, it’s the temporary plates. And you can’t tell that well, it looks like it isn’t a plate but the dealer plate. Where they bought the car, and instead of taking it off. They just put the paper plate over it. They no longer put stickers in the windows, not sure if it’s the same in every state. But in California they have to display the new plate, if they leave the dealer plate and put sticker in window. They can get pulled over and get a ticket.
5:30 Everyone runs the red at that intersection. Surprised there’s not more accidents than there already are.
I'm more surprised the BMW driver knew how to use their indicator

Sounds like they need a red-light camera there! Do they have these in the US?
@@toddstewart4404 Sadly our cameras aren’t used for those purposes. The cameras on the traffic lights here only functions as a way to manage traffic.
For the first clip, a similar thing happened to me a couple of days ago. I was riding my bike (bicycle), and the light turned green. I waited at least 5 seconds for traffic to clear, and when I started moving, a black 2018 Range Rover Vogue sped right in front of me, going at least 40-50km/h on a left turn. Traffic is crazy, man.
Yeah those drivers are dangerous. I've also had my fair share of red light runner in car. As a cyclist before i go through an intersection i check both way that traffic is slowing down in all lane. If i didn't do that i'm sure i would have end up in at least 2 accident.
Hi
Oh hi cyber
@@LamuSpots oh. hi lol
I have seen an older lady depend/rely entirely on me at a stop sign without looking for herself (her head did not turn) and waited until I pulled out before pulling out and then passed one another. If I was wrong she had no way of knowing to protect herself and not pull out. That is akin to merely waiting and then just blindly proceeding in this case. ('You do you' as they say)
8:28 no, it’s telling them not to bump other Honda drivers, everything else is fair game
LOL, my thoughts exactly!
I can't remember if it was in MI or PA where the first driver making a left would quickly make their left turn right as the light turned green. Everyone in the opposing traffic lanes knew this was going to happen so no one sped off from a green light. This was before left turn lanes with green arrows became a thing.
It was common in Pittsburgh when I was younger. Still happens some.
Apparently it's primarily known as a "Pittsburgh left", but is sometimes also known as a "Boston" or "New York" left, so presumably it happens or happened in those cities as well at one point...it tends to enter the social contract if you have lots of two-lane high-traffic roads without protected left turns, where it's obvious tons of people are forced to wait for the one guy who wants to turn left, and just one car can wave the person through or blink their lights to allow the left turner to clear the road by waiting just a second or two.
Not to be confused with a "Michigan left" which is a type of high-throughput flat intersection where those turning left onto a divided highway or boulevard must make a right turn into the leftmost lane, and then make a U-turn. It's also safer, reducing head-on and T-bone collisions...it could probably prevent a lot of crashes and traffic deaths in Florida, where there are a lot of ungraded highway interchanges.
Happens all the time when I'm the first one sitting in line the opposite direction with my semi. Doesn't really bother me because we both know I'm slow off the line.
@@theodoremurdock9984 Yeah MI lefts have been around for a long time. Always had to explain them to out of town relatives visiting. Grew up in Macomb county.

BMW driver got his karma. He could have backed off and drive like a civilized person.
@@TheOwlGuy777 Got his karma? At the expense of someone else. You’re now basically saying anyone who wrecks into another car, got their karma. That utility van did nothing, zero, nada, just at the light going about their day but then had to deal with being hit. That’s what you consider karma? Why? Want to claim it’s because according to the person driving by the damage was minimal? If the Tesla had been hit with minimal damage would it still be “karma?” Technically a car getting keyed has suffered minimal damage.

8:34 Those narrow roads are very common in the UK. Other than major main roads, most streets are this narrow. We don’t have overly huge cars like the US/Canada so they aren’t necessary.
My thought as well, these streets are very common in Europe and in some places in Italy this street would have nearly been wide enough for two way traffic
at 2:20 the GMC doesn't have a paper covering the license plate.. it's a brand new vehicle. in California you're given a temporary paperish license plate until you get your official plates in the mail.
You people don't know how to fight an insurance company. They call it a "settlement" because you are settling for LESS than what you are really owed. You are OWED compensation to be made whole. I have taken them to court every time and DEMANDED 100% reimbursement plus costs. Every time the insurance lawyer slime tells the judge "we made them a fair offer", he always replied, "I'll determine what is fair here and if your offer was fair, we wouldn't be here." I have been awarded the maximum estimate of replacement every time.
11:08 - It was stupid of the Chevy driver to change to the right lane anyway.
10:10 that wasn’t rolling coal! It was flying coal instead!
Why do the repairs of Teslas cost SO freaking much?? Future Cybertruck owner wants to know.
its a high end luxury car, everything is going to be expensive about it like an iphone. like in body shops they can do the same repair to a toyota bumper and itd cost $500, same fix on an audi $5k cuz the bumper new costs $8k. not really about cost of repair but cost of ownership. plus any repairs other than body you need a specialized mechanic AND expensive electrical components like the motor or literally anything with it. and what makes those parts expensive when needing replacement and funnels down to repairs is all the additional sensors n crap that are connected to everything else
I wouldn't use damage to S/X/3/Y as a reference for Cybertruck, as they use a completely different style of body.

Yeah it's just too bad they need to get paid since you probably can't be bothered to do more than watch free!
First clip: Do these drivers just close their eyes when entering intersections? Yes, the Honda jumped a red light, but they were coming from the drivers side, a cursory glance left to ensure no one was jumping the lights could have saved Zeiro a lot of hassle. Props to the daughter though for not just hitting the go peddle as soon as the green lights lit up. So many people just floor it when the lights go green.

I consider most of those events "rolling coal" - nobody sane drives like the drivers seen in this video. Press gas to 100%, then release it completely - only to step again to 100% like a second later. Normally you'd press gas to the level that allows you to keep in the flow of traffic on city streets. In particular this truck driver had somebody else infront, so no real reason to accelerate again and again - except to spew black smoke at the EV behind
1:10 that Comcast truck driver was 100% distracted by something. Most likely his phone. Sacramento has had a massive surge in bad drivers in the past few years. That is part of the reason Sacramento was rated #5 worst city for bad drivers in the United States. And that's an improvement! We used to be rated #1 worst city!
1:20 The only time Comcast has ever been "too fast."
if you pause at 2:21, there's multiple children in that vehicle. One appears to be standing in the back, you can see their arm on the top of the middle row seats... woman needs to be in prison!!
Good point there. My thoughts on that were like "looking after children while doing 50 mph is dangerous" and well I mean she probably knew that there was an intersection ahead where the lights could have been red so I don´t understand why she didn´t slow down in the first place both because of caution and to check on their children.
Has time travel become real that's the second time I've seen a penny farthing on CZcams. 🤯😂🤣.
after i saw this channel, i have been trying to be in one of the videos and i have been waving at teslas cameras sience 2020
Mr Wheelchair - it's hard to tell, but it looks like the guy was crossing diagonally through the intersection and expecting everyone to stop. It only takes one person texting and splat! .
That Honda Autopia ride would be much more fun if the throttle response on the karts was better. As of now they’re one pedal cars, release the gas = brake, press the gas = throttle. It’s like the throttle is operated by a hyperactive squirrel, the brake is operated by a sloth, a turtle is monitoring the pedal and they’re all talking to each other through a few tin cans and some string. When you press the gas the engine starts trying to move and the brake gets released 2 seconds later. Those two seconds consists of the centrifugal clutch just getting cooked beyond hell. Other than all that the ride was fun.
Do a three count before you leave the light. In my home town one girl got killed when a big rig 🚛. Went through a red light
6:00 you could've said "Lt. butterfingers was going to burger king for chicken tenders".
0:57 you forgot the #hondabump
4:26 Asura is just as much of fault for this one. Could have just let the other driver in front. Tone down the ego
Next time you witness a violation of law you can easily prevent - tone down your ego and do nothing instead
I thought the same thing. Better to let the idiot be an idiot and get in front than either get into an accident yourself or cause the idiot to make one involving some poor innocent.
U know why there are still ppl like this BMW driver? Cos ppl like u let it slide, so they understand that unless cops get them they can fck u and u will let it slide.
8:18 I went there a few years ago
1:20 Comcast not stopping, there is news to be covered and stations to check!
Very Nice Bro! Get Good People/Tesla!
Gmc one is in Anaheim CA not Westminster but great video none the less
If I watched Wham Baam Teslacam for over 2 years, I think I’m satisfied
I wish people would just drive and put down their GD phones.
Always safer to slow when approaching and crossing busy intersections.
It's not about the law and the right of way, it's about safety, which supercedes the law.
6:00 LT. butterfingers Lol
Hi love the channel
Lt. Butterfingers - Great Name. 😂
8:14 WAIT WHAT
Gardena!! i went to that College and know the intersection well Crenshaw / Crunchshaw
The first one from Penelope, I don’t think it was purposely directed at her. It may have been but I’m not really sure. The sad thing is, I don’t even drive a Tesla, I drive a Nissan Altima, that does have Auto Steer and adaptive cruise, so it has some of the same cool benefits that the Teslas do, wished I had one, but that’s a story for another time, but anyways, I’ve had coal rolled on me, idk why, it may be because my car is kinda decked out to resemble that of a Model S, so they may think I have a Tesla, idrk, but yea. But I just laugh when they do it cause I’m like yep, you just burnt up $10 in diesel 😂
Number 6: first BMW driver seen to attempt using the indicators
It doesn't matter if you use your turn signal when turning or parking. You still need to make sure the way is clear. Similarly - it doesn't matter if the light is red or green. You need to check for oncoming traffic. People run lights all the time. Driving cautiously and defensively can save your life and your vehicle.
