It turns out that 18-35 year old men overwhelmingly don't want to watch movies about female empowerment, and 18-35 year old women overwhelmingly aren't interested in super heroes and superhero movies.

Most of these directors have little to no experience in directing anything with a big budget or that is geared towards being a blockbuster. Don’t forget Holland had a strong backing in the MCU from being introduced in Civil War before his solo film happened, having his second film premiere RIGHT after Endgame, and the third film had so many nostalgia pulls it’s insane. There was a lot of marketing ploys that helped the MCU Spider-Man films, on top of the fact they were the first Spidey films in the 5 years since TASM 2. All I’m saying is for a fairly independent movie that’s only tied to itself and has an original plot for both films in its series, and it’s animated on top of that, it’s done extremely well and that cannot be ignored even if it’s not groundbreaking like a billion in the box.

Arguably Miles Morales was a great super hero movie. Mario a video game character dumped on in the previous movie was great. Because the movie was just better.
On CZcams if it doesnt get views you made a bad video. In Hollywood you make a bad film and the audience is apparently the hate filled majority.
But the kicker is it is a global problem not a domestic problem. The world doesnt care about representation the way hollywood does.

The problem would be getting over the fans indifference. Having been called all the "-ist" and "-phobe" names for not gobbling down the utter hateful, badly written, acted and directed garbage, being disgorged from "THE MESSAGE" studios, most of the one-time fans have become indifferent. Even if they brought out a superhero movie now, with a director that can direct, a scriptwriter who can write a good, well-paced story and hire actors who can act, rather than DEI checkboxes, I still probably wouldn't go and see it in the cinemas. Been burned too many times and I'd rather wait till it became available on TV for free.
The opposite of love is not hate - it's indifference. The fans who once 'loved' Marvel and DC comics and the 'true' Superhero movies, are now indifferent to them and all the vomit of "THE MESSAGE" films.

" Sxxt movie fatigue " exists ... it's always been here, just in full effect right now from Hollyweird 😕
The new Hollyweird is outta control and its sanctimonious actors, on the whole, are about to burn it to the ground.
I hope it survives and gets back to 2012 era chill, stop with the diversity & inclusion racism bs, stop with the gay promo bs with kids ( it's fxxking creepy and illegal ) and get some actual fans running the show.

Garry: Talks about a show that only exists to exploit the amputated and deaf for THE MESSAGE
Also Garry: "Now I know not too many people have heard about this one."
Later Garry: "They're dropping it all at once on D+ to give it a leg up!"
    Classic.

Marvel being portrayed as the Upper Class Twit of the Year is perfect! Though suggesting Feige has a plan is pretty silly. The only plan he had was to steal Gunn's basic outline to get from Guardians 1 to Endgame so he had some basic clue. Feige must really be wishing Gunn would do his homework a second time.

There is no super hero fatigue, it's all this diverisity crap they are pushing, rather than focusing on a good script.
If Iron man or infinity war came out now, they would still make a fortune.

My theory on superhero fatigue vs bad movie fatigue.
If they produced a Kingdom Come or an Emerald Twilight movie that closely follwed the graphic novels. it would do well. In fact, doing an Emerald Twilight movie first then the Kingdom Come movie would entail two stand alone blockbusters that can apear on a progressing Superman timeline. But they'd best not try to tie the movies into each other, rather they should just stick to the story of each, having Superman in both would be enough. You wouldn't even need the same actor, as Kingdom Come Superman is middle aged.

      @theunknowncommenter725 Před 6 měsíci

A Kingdom Come movie, if done properly would be amazing.
Aside from the writing, it should also have an amazing look. I would prefer it if the movie used motion capture animation (like The Polar Express) so I can properly recreate Alex Ross's artwork.
Not to mention, it should recreate scenes and poses shot for shot from the comic.

@markp8686 60's and 50's were unparalleled.. the cast of Kelly's Heroes and The Magnificent Seven alone. (Maybe due to Hollywood being filled with real WWII veterans and heroes.)

When Kevin Conroy died i cried because he was the perfect Batman. Not because of his sexual orientation, skin color, or political beliefs. People want to see relatable substance of character overcoming evil. ESG Score approved, belittling, preachy, SJW, agendas are not welcome.

If you were to ask 10 years ago which were my favourite comicbook characters, I would have said 100% Ghost and Taskmaster.
Both got distorted, genderswap and destroyed. In all this forced representation I got thrown out from my favourite stuff, f*ck me I guess.
