Wally Darling and friends have been cooking up a big update that just dropped and it changes EVERYTHING we thought we knew about this series. i love that the matpat pose is so iconic that even though he's not doing the theories, Tom practically inherited the pose and its still here.
Since you sort of skimmed over the Halloween update, here’s my favorite detail:
In the Halloween record, Happy Hauntings To Boo And Yours, as Sally Starlet tells her story, the audio glitches out for a few seconds, but then stops briefly before Sally's voice suddenly becomes clear. She then begins to sound scared as she describes the kinds of grotesque sounds the “monster” makes. This implies that Sally is aware that Home is the monster that’s snatching up neighbors and preventing them from escaping. And the audio becoming clearer after glitching out implies that Sally is speaking directly to the listener, warning them about Home’s intentions.
I like the fact that the editors make the "crossover" style cameo's from the other hosts seem like they're all siblings living in the same house just yelling out to each other.
Amy just hanging out with her style magazines and spreadsheets, Lee watching movies, Santi doing cartwheels in the kitchen, and Tom dabbling in the occult and being possessed randomly.

Honestly, this moment of Frank calling out to Eddie by his first name just made it a moment that struck me. It shows Frank being a secretive and helpful person, and trying his best, and seeing the complex relationships building in both the negative and positive ways? It’s absolutely fascinating. Welcome Home EXCELS at these little moments that strike you in ways that you don’t normally think of. A pair of human hands here, a first name used there, they’re small, but they make a massive impact.

Just want to point out, Barnaby is the name of the main antagonist in Babes in Toyland which is where the Toyland song is from. Interestingly, one of the first films to notably feature "Beautiful Dreamer" was Jezebel (1933), who's main character is named... Julie, for whom a major plot point is her wearing a red dress.
Definitely intentional.

I love how the hosts keep referencing each other when cross promoting. It kinda makes the theorist team feel more cohesive and stronger as a team rather than when MatPat would make the cross promotions; the difference between hosts working together and a single entity juggling projects and I am here for it.

@@rubenaguilar6277 The being called "Home" trying to isolate them, and make them become one with it, inseparable from it, leading to them thinking dark thoughts, usually about the outside world, et cetera.
The mailman not having any letters to deliver is kinda like depression robbing you of the joy you get from your usual fun/fulfilling tasks. I think there’s something to this theory!
Frank being an inside agent just makes sense at this point. And yeah I never noticed how the neighbours kinda do treat Eddie unfairly but this all was actually foreshadowed way back now that I think about it. In the audio of "Eddie's Big Lift" they make Eddie use his strength which has him fall over (I think? It's gone now so I cant re-listen) and the only one who stayed behind was Frank to tell him "He always worked too hard" showing some amount of care and like he knows what's going to happen to him.

Frank going from calling him 'Mr Dear' to 'Eddie' is very touching. He goes from being formally and impersonally concerned while speaking at an only slightly softer than normal volume, to being informally and personally concerned in a whisper. The use of his first name also shows a willingness to a level of intimacy and vulnerability other haven't expressed with Eddie; he's showing him that he's not alone and can go to Frank if something's wrong or he's upset.
Sorry is this reads like word salad, the thoughts were clearer in my head.

Ignire the bots but I 100% agree with you. There was a theory I read somewhere that he says "Eddie" only in private settings (before there was Wally) but he must have seen the familiar panic in Eddie that he stopped staying Mr. Dear
There’s another place, about a beetle or something, where Frank shows up to Eddie’s post office and Eddie calls him Frank, then corrects himself to “Mister Frankly.” There’s definitely more friendship between these two than we’re led to believe
it's actually implied (and possible confirmed by the creator? There's mixed sources on that so take this with a grain of salt) that Eddie and Frank are in a relationship and maybe even married. Thought it was worth mentioning ! :)

Your right about one thing, Eddie getting shunned is a method cults use to keep it’s members in line if the opposing party is starting to have doubts/slowly waking up. I find it rather weird on how isolated the neighborhood looks. However, with each update we might see more of the town, with the clock tower being an indication.

I had a feeling Eddie was going to play a bigger part in the story. His character page was the only one that had one of Frank's bugs on it. It could just be a reference to their relationship, or it could be Frank marking Eddie as a potential ally or threat.
Makes me think that Home already tried to get to Frank, but Frank actually is fine on his own, so it didn't work, and that's why he started fighting back in the first place.

Here's something interesting. Frank's name is Frank Frankly, so no matter if you're calling him by his last name or his first name, you'll always be saying "Frank." So, if he ever happens to get in Home's control (somehow) and someone addresses him as "Mr. Frankly," that trigger for his first name would be set.
Now THAT is ridiculously clever! Even in Sally's renaming, "Franklin", the first name still prevails!
(I wonder if Howdy calls him something different - talking about the guy who simplifies "Wally" down to "Walls")
(Although first-name-calling could also be symbolic for Frank trying to display as much sincerity as possible with Eddie)

14:09 now, this might not be that important, but a: when you said Sally AND Frank, i didn't think that Sally stuck around to see Eddie snap back. in fact, most of it was Frank. if anything, Sally got frustrated with no attention and walked off to be seen elsewhere. B: it's been established that Frank and Eddie have a very... special 😏... relationship. er, what I mean to say is, they're **very** close😏😏😏. so though Eddie may be brushed to the side as you say, Frank definitely does care a **lot** more than the others. so at the end of the video, that's genuine concern when Frank is trying to get Eddie to snap out of it.

The fact he can't remember anything, the fact he has a watch when there are no clocks in Welcome Home except for the clock tower, how he doesn't remember his background, how he has ACCESS TO THE OUTSIDE WORLD, Frank's line in 'Eddie's Big Lift' where he says "you always worked too hard..." as if he KNEW him from before(???).

Agreed. Wally got all the initial attention bc he is MC, but that doesn't mean the others aren't important and won't be fleshed out.
I'm excited to see more about everyone! We've seen Sally, and now Eddie. I wonder who's next? I'm betting on Frank.
The one line that Amy has, as well as Santi's cameo in the previous episode, is one of my favorite things about this new era of the theorists. The fact that there are four hosts, one for each channel, leads to a lot of fun jokes and ideas that were impossible with just one host. All love to MatPat, obviously, but I honestly like the idea of four hosts slightly more than just one.

Much obliged! I was reading over some of the comments quite confusingly beforehand!
why was it changed
I was so confused about this. I was pretty sick yesterday and couldn't watch it then but I had seen the thumbnail on my feed, then today I went to watch and was like "wait a second".

When I first saw the seen with Eddie holding the plate with the singular pea, it honestly reminded me of not only of isolation, but a staring eye. Like being isolated by constant watching, judging. I also remember Clown mentioning somewhere that homophobia was going to be a large theme in Welcome home, as well as the fact that Eddie and Frank are a canon ship. Something that stood out to me in this update is that the character descriptions in the “Neighborhood” page are updated. For Wally, it mentions that he invented Homewarming, which is an unusual claim, as one of the the holiday audios is literally about Wally learning how to celebrate Homewarming. How would he not know if he invented it? Another update on the character descriptions that stood out to me was Frank and Julie’s. It mentions that their close friendship is implied to be romantic, which contradicts the prior canon relationship of Frank and Eddie mentioned by Clown. (Although, I doubt Frank and Eddie are canon in the show’s universe, but more outside of the actual show’s canon.) Which bring up the scene with Eddie and Frank in the video. Throughout their other interactions, they refer to each other as “Mr. Dear” and “Mr. Frankly”, which always gave me the impression that they were trying to put up the front that they weren’t close, with the context that Welcome Home will have major themes of homophobia. So Frank calling him by his first name in the video when he realizes that something is actually wrong felt more like he was dropping the pleasantries not for “freeing” Eddie in some way, but more because he was dropping the act of not being close to him.
Buuut that’s just my lil theory :)

...Now I'm all in for this idea!
I'm even more interested in Frank's photo of holding the envelope close to his chest now, since I think it really shows how he wants to keep Eddie close and not let him fall into home's grasp, like shown in the video, due to the envelope imagery. (Or at least that's my interpretation.) He sounds so distressed when trying to snap Eddie out of it, too. I don't remember how canon this is, but Frank and Eddie have always been very close characters that I believe are married (at least in the fanon or Clown's non-arg portion of Welcome Home content), and I think Frank seeing Wally too far gone and instead holding Eddie close to save him is an ineresting road this story may be taking. In the final segment of the commercials Sally says that the reason he had no mail to deliver was because the neighborhood wanted to give him a break as a Homewarming present so they did the delivering for him

Sally could've been set up by Home as well, or maybe the producers (whoever they are) made a last minute change to the script to give Eddie an in-universe reason for not getting mail.
After all, in the sequence when Sally says the reason why he had no mail to deliver, it was an Animatic instead of Live-Action, as if it was a latter addition.
Then again, after Eddie sits with his single pea & things turn bizarre, the following sequence is both Animatic and Live-Action.
Perhaps now it's Home's rot taking over all levels at this point, overriding the producers?

"the only reason" its literally said by the neighbors they delivered it foe him because he works so hard. the neighbors actively tried to include Eddie and get him to relax. eddie felt secluded by his own securities and it looks like thats what Home is feeding off of.

Problem with the cult theory is there really is no leader. They're all pretty oblivious, except maybe Home, and Home can only communicate a little, mostly with Wally. Even HE seems confused by what Home is saying multiple times.

This theory about Eddie reminds me of one of the drawings in which you can see Wally carrying Eddie (specifically) with the words "You'll be okay" above them. Eddie seems to be limp and Wally seems unusual, it could be Home controlling Wally to possibly do something to him? Most likely hypnosis. Hopefully in the case that Frank will be able to somehow help Eddie before he's long gone.

I think most of Clown's art isn't meant to be canon but to foreshadow in a way, because if it is then past drawings make sense. What's funny is that whenever the host mentioned the name of any of the other channels, it would glitch. But after style theory came out, the glitches stopped. Also Tom, you just need a little more experience to get MatPat's style (theory) down, unless you already have your own style and we're just not catching on.
