That unsung sound engineer is actually mostly Gilmour himself. It’s kinda what he’s all about. He’s a master of harmony and soundscapes. He’s even mentioned those ”special effects” or ”sci fi sounds” as he called them in an interview some years ago.
Oh, regarding Piper’s Call, I’d say it might just be the best song of his entire solo repertoire, so far, at least.

Polly, Davids wife is an author. She writes most of his lyrics from his solo albums and even wrote almost all the lyrics on the Pink Floyd record The Division Bell. Love the song, its a breath of fresh air to hear the GOAT sing and play again. Already have my tickets to see him in MSG in November. I did think he was just getting into the solo when the song ended and would have liked to hear another minute of it. But i dont question the GOAT

I think he’s using a Gibson, def not the Fender Strat.
His only good album is called "On an Island" check that one out...

Godawful, turgid, cliche-ridden, old-man stuff. Like the last thirty years never happened. I hope this is the last..
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I love artists like Dylan, Waits. For many of us, Gilmour lifts our spirit.
